  3. Cheers jeff yeah my plan was 2 remove gearbox first but this nut has been holding it up ... thanks for the help
  4. Everything is already removed pipes,compressor,starter motor,power steering etc as im pulling the engine for the turbo's so will i be able to then to move it forward or angle it down for better access, was hoping to get straight at the nut without extensions so i can put all my effort on it .
  5. jeff would it be possible to hoist the engine and move it forward and then get access to the top nut its already on a transmission jack
  6. cant get the gearbox top nut on the drivers side off tried heat which is really awkward and wd and its a no go dont really wanna force it much more or it may round off looking for suggestions really :confused1:

  10. Well after the mind melded vulcan nuts came of the exhaust, i now just have the heat shield and driveshaft then gearbox hopefully willl be off :sorcerer:
  11. i used the nutsplitter it did most of the nut but still had to hacksaw it :censored:
  12. :surrender: i totaly surrender, had 2 hours spare this evening and everything conspired against me, generator ran out of fuel so used a hacksaw till my arm said no more when cutting a nut of , mrs kept calling and texting about crap all so in the end got 1 of the exhausts off and 1 bolt undone on the otherside the other 2 nuts will need cutting off there probably older than my kids. tommorow is another day :sleep:
  13. Victory finaly got the compressor of, the rear bolt was a nightmare And Double victory alternator and power steering pump of on the other side
  14. yeah the pcv hose is made of concrete its absolutly solid :hammer: found a kit from sfs performace they do all 5 hoses
  15. when removing the compressor do u remove it 1st, or undo the top hardpipes as i can get my hands down there to remove the hard pipes 1st unless theres a trick im missing. :scared:

  17. plodded on with engine removal today got most of the top done, got a stonking headache from the fuel lines, on the passenger side the main loom that goes under the relay box, how do you move that out of the way or do u need to move the relay box or does the loom unplug underneath was just wondering as it was getting late and didnt look at it to much :hammer:

The fuel Tank looks brand new peter, its 1 of my jobs for next year along with new fuel tank straps Well i managed to turn the car around, sort the garage out and now its pointing towards the front of the garage, so i can start pulling the engine just need nice weather for next week, and engine crane is getting delivered next week, 1st stuff ive done to the car this year since the weather is so bad
  20. Gonna start pulling the engine soon, after reading guides online, u guys using chains and bolt method or straps on the plenum method, is there pro and cons for each ?

  23. being a bit curious with the vin numbers and mine only has 11 and not 17 so the decode sites are useless
  24. just read an email from footman james for vehicles over 40 years no more MOT's in May 2018 aslong as your car is still pretty original :hammer:
