Nothing wrong with standard brakes in good order, my original 300 had them and I used to out-brake my mate in his Porsche Cayman at Llandow. Guess it has a lot to do with driver ability aswell. It takes 2 mins tops to tax a car online these days so there absolutely no excuse for not doing it when picking up a car you have just bought. You tax it using the code on the V5C/2W.

My main suggestion is the fact that you do not need a diesel if you are doing 5-6k per year. Go for a petrol. What problems was the DS3 giving you?

For £6000 that is used car money so I would buy something Japanese and avoid everything else - - - Updated - - - How many miles per year will this car be covering?

Most old motorhomes will be full of damp, although van conversions much less likely. I think if you buy an old one as a project be prepared to strip it back to the metal and start again
