  1. Auto Airconditioning in Redditch:bow:
  2. £5 a tyre balance and £35 4 wheel laser allignment - total £55
  3. Just took the zed to get the aircon regassed. Was quoted £55 if it is the new gas - or £75 if he had to get the new gas into the old R12 system. Anyway, waited an hour and once finished the aircon was icy-cold. When I went to pay, the bloke had upgraded the connector for free - so now I can get my air-con regassed at any normal garage with the new gas! Result!
  4. UPDATE Just got the car 4-wheel aligned and had all the wheels balanced and now it feels like a new car! - But then that is in the dry - never thought I would hope the sun would go!
  5. Keep strong mate, I'm sure your daughter is in the best hands. These things can be sorted.
  6. I am pretty sure it works - but could be wrong. I am positive others have done the same. Exactly - that is the point of this post - can I swap the odometer too? Yes that is what I would like to do, but my unit is a S2 which has different connectors - mine is also a rare airbag model. It means I cant just swap the whole units... Hope this makes it clearer...:smash:
  7. I am pretty sure it will as it is a conversion others have done here. I am just interested in the odometer really.
  8. As I understood it, a delimeter can play havoc with the Hicas, and my hicas works fine so I dont want to disable it.
  9. What can you do for the rear discs now?
  10. I wanted to start my rebuild with brakes first before I look at the suspension. I guess the stoppers will have to wait!
  11. Sorry, maybe I wasnt clear. I will have to keep my JDM clocks - I am going to dismantle the UK clocks and take the guage faces out of the UK housing and put them in my JDM housing. The problem with that is my odometer is still reading in km's. Can I also take the odometer out of the UK Clocks and put it into my JDM clocks?
  12. I drove the car for 25 miles to work today so would have thought there would have beem nothing coating the tyres - but will have fun lighting the wheels up just to check!
  13. I have given up trying to find some S2 UK clocks for my car so am going to by some more common S1 clocks and actually swap the dial faces over. The only problem is the odometer will stil be in km's. Is it possible and if so legal to swap the odometer over? I have managed to find a set that has done just over the miles min has done.
  14. Tyre pressures are spot on and tread is excellent 4-5 mm, I checked them before I set off (and oil and water) but there is a small amount shake, either a wheel slightly out of balance or the tracking slightly out. I don't think that that minor vibration is enough to cause the skating on ice feeling I had. I have driven zeds in much worse condition than mine! I'm sure this has to be a problem with the rubber. Can rubber go off if not used?
  15. It honestly felt like I was driving in snow... I don't know whats up with it.
  16. I hate how loud mine is, and feel quite embarrased driving through my estate - and I know I annoy the neighbours when I let it idle on the turbo timer. I think I will be changing my single exit back to stock as soon as I can...
  17. I haven't driven the zed for a couple of months - and probably not driven it in the wet for a year.. Well My daily driver is in for it's MOT so I had no choice but to drive the zed into work today and I still can't tell if it was a horrible or amazing drive... I couldn't seem to put the power down at all without it snaking all over the road even if I just feathered the throttle lightly. Roundabouts were a drifting nightmare - and I wasn't trying to at all... That's not how I like to drive especially in rush hour! At the start it was really unnerving and I was quite worried. By the time I got to the end of the journey I was used to it, and it slides quite predictably so it almost became fun. I know having spent a year driving a 90bhp fwd pug 307 - the 300zx is a very different beast and needs respect and adjustment, but could it be my tyres have 'gone off' due to lack of use? There bridgestones so should have had good grip in the wet, I'm sure they used too. What was more worrying was I was sure I was in safety boost as the factory guage never moved past halfway..... How bad would it have been on full power?
  18. Ahh you have been reading the confucious guid to philosophy and turbo tuning!:rofl:
  19. Thanks bud, it's a thought, but would rather use 'new' metal - Just so when it goes wrong - I can't blame anything but my crappy welding, and not the metal.:rofl:
  20. I want to start practicing my welding skills. Where can I get Metal tubing (both square section and round) and sheet the same thickness as body panels (3mm I think) I haven't seen a 'metal shop!'
  21. I took my standard TT 2+2 to the weighbridge a couple of months ago and it weighed bang on 1580kgs
  22. Must mean you... I have onlly just got into mod school!
