Sadly no recall if he backs out of the deal, e bay will not help you if the issue is motoring related, I won a Lovley ZX last year for around £1300 and the guy backed out of the deal saying he wanted 3 grand (no reserve auction) when I complained to e bay they just replied saying we don't support cases dealing with anything to do with motoring.... its a joke really... all I could do was leave the guy negative feedback. Sadly genuine e bayers like myself lose out as I wouldn't sell crap or intentionally upset anyone on e bay cos I value my 100% feedback.

about 20 mins ago, and gave it a nice load of stick leaving the estate.

If that original post is real then anyone driving a car of any sort after 5 pints needs the book throwing at them. On the other hand I wandered onto this thread because it looked by the title that someone had genuinely been let down by the police and I was going to add a story that happened to my MOT guy this month.... so in some sort of chance I will genuinely bring this back from stupidity I will add it anyway. My MOT guy had his car stolen on the 1st of december (a mint, 2 owner 1990 jaguar sovreign with full dealer service history). When he called the police they asked if he wanted it recovered if they found it, he replied no, I work in a garage so can arrange that myself... seems simple enough eh? After waiting 3 weeks he eventually got the call to say his car had been found but sadly it had been burnt out and they had recovered the car. When he went to pick it up from the recovery place it turned out it was recovered on the same day it was stolen and he got charged over 400 quid..... now that is proper police incompitence. Pulling over someone driving after 5 pints is just doing a bloody good job. Make ya own minds up on that one.

Mine was down to its last couple of millimeters on the rear and was just going sideways everywhere at any speed as soon as the boost kicked in ( i even joined the M56 of a slip road completely sideways at over 70MPH at one point lol)... just put a nice new set of avons on the rear and the car has once again become well behaved (well most of the time)

Depends on how you define your boundries... I see a real nice black one nearly every day parked up at harrow and wealdstone.

Life is too short to drive a crap car, spend half of ya budget on something nice and comfortable (jag,merc S class, BMW 7 series, saab convertible for the summer) and waste the other 5 twards the fuel over the next few years. I use a 5 liter merc as my daily driver at the moment, was 90 grand in 1995 and is still a better car than any new econobox now.

I have a 1995 Mercedes CL500 coupe advertised at the mo online and it is about the cheapest in the country at 3 grand.. we rob any car quoted £1420, yet I put my import Honda civic in and the quoted £700 ( £70 quid more than I sold it for). I think if its not general mainstream,hatchback,jellymould crap they have no idea. And now I know that they are something to do with Carcraft(y dishonest rip ya off group) all is explained.

I know exacly what ya saying... I got rid of the last one and replaced it with a 95 merc CL500 coupe (now that is a car and a half and cost nearly 90K when it was new) but it really just didn't have the buzz that the zx had so thats why we have another one now lol.

I'd say the Z is the one to have but it's down to personal taste, the Z is very like a supercar, it wil be expensive if it breaks and it probably will at some point as it is a complicated car. It also is a very rewarding car as far as a driving machine is concerned. The person who said buy neither is very wrong.... buy a ferrai and depending which one ya buy it will have problems, buy a lamborghini and expect the same, bothe of those will be expensive to the extreme compared with the 300zx tho. if you want performance buy the nearest thing to a supercar you can get (300ZX twin turbo).. if ya worried about service bills and general economy buy a Honda jazz.

My thoughts exactly and I am very thankful to the specialist guy I contacted for giving me the idea, he could easilly have sold me about 700 quids worth of stuff rather than give me good food for thought... thats why I still use him after all these years. (It was the Z center by the way)... always helpful to me and never tries to sell me something I dont need. In the end I think 2 oil changes in one week was what it needed as there was probably a bit of crap in an oil feed like you said.

I bought my z a few months ago with a slightly noisy lifter on tickover but other wise all fine. Last week it was getting louder and since I hadn't changed the oil since I bought it I thought it best to do it then. After changing the oil the lifter got really loud and the car started running lumpy on tickover but fine when driving (although the lifter has become a loudish knocking even when driving it. Checked the ECU for codes... code 55, nothing wrong although there is some pre ignition on accelleration. Yeasterday I decided to phone a trusted trader who deals with zx's and price up relpacing the lifter, gaskets, and anything else I may as well do while I am in there pulling my motor apart and at the end of the conversation he said "have you tried putting 20/50 oil in it just to see what it does"?. As a long shot I did just that today.... and, engine running sweet and no knocking. Don't know now weather to change the lifter that was causing the trouble or just carry on using good old 20/50 as my car seems to like it :biggrin:

yeah not bad but really its better to do a replica from scratch if ya gonna do one, there will always be traces of the original car underneath. Personally I have gone the full spaceframe route on a countach rep and a prova body and now using a BMW V12 and porche trans for the performance and sound. And as mentioned earlier.. people dont always buy the car they want because although ya may be able to break the bank and buy it a real lambo can cost in excess of 10 grand a year in servicing alone. A countach clutch is £3,200 FFS . :wacko:

Just to let you know, i actually won an auction for a Z on e bay the other week (fair and square no reserve auction) and when I tried to collect the car the seller refused to sell even though he had let the auction run to the end. He stated that he had sold the car for more before I put my bid in. When i contacted E bay they replied by saying that buyer protection does not cover motor vehicles and refused to get involved........ so you are safe with the deposit a far as they are concerned.

For all who shop on e bay I have sent he following message after no response to my previous mail that stated that I was unhappy about him withdrawing the car from sale. QUOTE.. have still had no response to my reply of yesterday, this has forced me to no leave negative feedback and report your activity to ebay. You have advertised without a reserve to save money on fees and when you did not get the price you expected you decided not to sell. Withdrawing an ad before the end of auction is fine when stated but withdrawing it when the buyer has bid and won and then sold items cheaply himself to fund the purchace is against e bay rules and quite frankly dishonest. I would be interested to know just when you agreed a sale on the car and to who you have decided to sell it to as you may well be in a legal contract to sell it via the public auction that you allowed to run its course. A proper answer from you would be very interesting if you are able to be truthful. I will post the reply if i get one.

Wow thats a decent amont of speed but easy done in a Z, a good reminder to us all to watch what the car is doing at all times.

it was 100% on 3 but I just neg feedbacked him and reported him to e bay. Sadly when reading the terms and conditions it seems e bay buyer protection does not apply to e bay motors... something to think about next time any of you are on there.

oh I really feel like that at the mo... to say I am annoyed would be an understatement.

Was rather pleased with myself last night, finally found myself a really nice ZX N/A to use as a daily driver alongside the TT. Came home from work today to find an E mail saying as stated the car was advertised elsewhere and he had taken a better offer on the car, and adding "better luck next time" What a complete R sole.
