  1. GUTTED.... too late as usual. Looks like I missed out twice here... ouch.
  2. Had one in the past for a couple of years, sold it and bought a merc CL500 but after much hassle off the missus for selling it we now have a black twin turbo (only had it just under a month)... the only thing is I bought it as her car and now I am suffering Z withdrawal syndrome so it looks like I will be buying another one soon. His and hers Z's... how sad lol.
  3. 3 weeks and loving it, spent the last year wondering why we sold the last one so now we have rectified the situation
  4. Aw that is a nice Z, dont go mad, its real nice already.. I think the 99 front will just do the job right on that
  5. it is... a credit to the guy I got it off
  6. you found us... yep that was ours (and the one that used to belong to 8ACE).. I think it was my missus driving it dropping the kids off as its the daily driver for her now. New plate on as of the next day (now has a 300TT plate on it).
  7. working on the sat but off on the sunday
  8. kemwood do a 6x9 sub set up (including amp) which is nice... and loads cheaper. I thinks I may have a unused boxed set in the loft but would have to look tomorrow
  9. Thank you sir, parcel arrived all ok this morning.. many thanks
  10. Feel bad for ya mate but also need to let you know its going to be well looked after in its new home. Really hope you get on ya feet again soon and get back to another Z, Thanks for a smooth deal and being a nice bloke to deal with.
  11. I did that just over a year ago and regretted it ever since... thankfully I have just remedied that by buying Mr 8ace's one off him. Just done 200 miles driving home and had more fun than John Terry without the guilt trip.
  12. what about having one made over here by a prop specialist? has anyone tried that? seriously been thinking of it cos I hate driving mine at the moment.
  13. I just did a manual convertion and still have my old converter... up for sale if you are interested.
  14. I have a decent one here for sale to save you the bother... let me know if your interested.
  15. I never see mine now... I think of it as her's.... I'm only the mechanic lol
  16. I agree... He has done some good work when I was not able to get the time and even when the box he sold me blew up (that's the one that I have recently pulled out) he came out of work and followed me home a quarter mile at a time (we had to keep stopping to let the box cool as it kept losing drive) so I know his heart is in the right place. The thing is (and I don't know what you have been told).. He did sell me his koyo rad at about 200 quid as my original rad fell apart while he was putting a new knock sensor on  . he gave me the car back and never mentioned that he had completely bypassed the oil cooler (yes I know I should have realised after he said it was off his car and I know that is a manual). What bothers me is that when I called him two weeks ago to ask why he had bypassed my oil cooler he did just say that he does this as normal practice and he has done this to about 5 other cars because the oil cooler don't do much anyway. he said that as the box was second hand it may have just died from old age, but I think that having no cooler at all was a big contribution. At the end of the day he does have some good knowlege of the Z32 and like I said earlier has bailed me out a few times but I do feel that in this instance he has let me down and cost me a hell of a lot of money in the process and now seems to have washed his hands of it, but hey ... we live and learn. Onje last thing.. yes I have seen your car about and you have probably seen mine (BLIMEY... A red 93) although I never drive it now as my missus has taken a liking to it and I have become the mechanic lol.
  17. No Z nut I was based in Knotty ash in liverpool when I used to do jags and worked from home. Always did it as a hobby really and made spare cash from it but was well trusted. I only moved house to the wirral in the last couple of years.
  18. oh by the way... the cadillac is now fine and that is after extensive autobox brain surgery by my self... so I do know what I am talking about.
  19. sufolk zx .. yes its a stupid thing to do and since you mention it I do normaly keep on top of my cars. the fact is that I had recently moved house and also was having auto box trouble with my Cadillac STS and had that gearbox in a million bits on my workbench. So I trawled this site (lots of trusted specialists on here aparrently) and got someone to do my ZX work for me. sadly he wrecked my car due to the work he had done (he had also sold me a recon box a few months earlier) ... yes the box may have failed anyway as it was second hand but also the crappy fix he did would have made sure of that. The fact is that when he gave me the car back he could have at least said "oh by the way I have disconected your autobox cooler" and I would have rushed out and bought an aftermarket one the same day. the fact is I trusted him to know what he is doing as he had a link on here at the time. This is actually the first time in 16 years I have trusted an outside party to work on my car and I just realised why I stopped doing it then... you cant trust anyone.
  20. well I hope it wasn't the guy who fitted my rad cos otherwise I think you gonna learn the hard way like i just did.
  21. What wasn't mentioned was that there is a (sort of) auto trans spigot bush too that will have to be removed before you install the manual one. I missed that info on here and smashed my new one to bits trying to install it. Also definately try to get help doing the job cos its a very tedious one and if nothing else you have a mate to swear at as well as swareing at the car a lot. Another thing is that you don't need the manual wiring harnes but its worth getting if its available as it saves butchering youre original harness. I just did my conversion on my driveway in the pissing rain and I will tell ya it cannot be done in a day in that situation. I am a mechanich who used to specialise in jaguar V12's and belive me I think they are an easy car to work with now after the 300. These cars are full of unnesasery crap that you dont need. Many thanks to petrolhead for Fu**ing my auto box in the first place for the crap I just went through. car is great now tho and I recomend a manual conversion to anyone.
  22. just did my auto to manual conversion and its right what everyone says... there is a lot of swaring. Now just when I thought it was nearly finished I found that the TT and the N/A have different propshafts. Anyone got a prop for a manual N/A that they wish to either sell me or do a deal on a TT one???
  23. from what I just found out by accident, the propshaft and final drive are different on the TT too. I am attempting a manual conversion on my N/A but now need a prop because of it.
  24. exactly as dave marley said at the beginning of this text. the so called speciallist put a manual rad in and bypassed thye cooler (just looped the pipes back to the box). AND when contacted he did say that the original coolers are not much cop anyway and the box probably failed for other reasons. He does this type of fix all the time apparently... WOULD YOU TRUST HIM TO WORK ON YOUR CAR???
