Cheers Baz for the update Baz. There a chance I might end up with Peaches shortie depending on what the pics show, but if not you're next on the list!

Yeah, I read about the burrying of the hatchet. Good news for the community. we're hoping to dramatically increase the size of the event this year. The simple maths of it is, the more member attend - the more we can put on. Also hoping to get more traders present. RX8OC have also been invited to run a small show alongside ours at the same time. Again the principle being - more people = more stuff. I believe Martin registered recently, so I will leave it to him to post up the details. But I think it'll be mostly me who acts as liason for it. So feel free to PM me if the commitee have any questions or queries about the event.

Think it's booked for last weekend in May this year. Once its all confirmed, someone should be over to to put put an official invite up (most likely me).

Wales........ lol. Used to be in and around the evo triangle, but its changing this year I think, but no sure where. The team run a 350/370 weekend run every year. Normally limited to 50 cars. I think this year we plan to invite a limited number of other zed cars from throughout the community. Still waiting on details to be finalised.

First of will be just getting reliable and in good condition mechanically. A friend of mine runs Falcon Performance in Middlesborough, so it will go into there to get a once over and any rust dealt with and then undersealed. Mod wise will be standard stuff - 99 spec lights, decent aftermarket front nose, custom exhaust (headers back) from AAS Exhausts in Newcastle. Probs lowering springs rather than coilovers to start with. Hope to get all that done in time for the 350z Wales run, or LakeZ at the latest. Over next winter I hope to start playing around under the bonnet - generally upgrading and tinkering. Bit of an open book when it comes to that tbh. Will deal with it when the time comes!

Yeah, but it was about 4 years ago! it was an n/a too. tbh, the power thing ain't an issue. I mean, I haven't had a powerful car for over a year now (well, aside from the 2 weeks I had the VXR8 back between it being repaired and me selling it). It's more about the process of building up a show car this time round for me. The power thing comes secondary.....for now. lol

I understand what you are saying about a TT, but I'm more inclined to start with the n/a, see how I get on with it. Learn the car inside out as it were. Then in a few years I would consider selling/breaking and going for a TT. And yeah, I wish I had never sold the 350z.

£2k. I have a wanted thread up already. It's not so much the insurance being the reason I aint after a TT, it's more the ease to work on an na. I know my way round and engine, but this'll be my first time actually having the space and time to do any work on a car. Also my budget is limiting initially. Yeah, the 350 was in both Banzai and Jap Performance. The wheels are very mamite, but I always liked them.

I'm after an n/a and no way that one would be in my budget.

Aye, I needed to get the V8 bug outta my system. Only work I had done to it was a custom exhaust system with electric cut-outs. Loved that car. Unfortunatly I had a low speed spin in it in Dec 2010 and bashed the rear wheel into a curb at about 20mph. Resulted in the car being sat in a Vauxhall dealership being repaired for......6 months 3 days!!!! It only needed a sum total of 8 parts to repair it, but they kept mucking up the order from Oz, and then finding they hadnt ordered the right parts, or not ordered all the parts they needed, then the parts got lost in Germany.....the list of screw ups goes on and on. Ultimately it meant I had fallen out of love with the car long before i got it back, and it was sold as just as soon as I could get rid of it. Oh how I miss that V8 sound though. Should the 300's engine ever decide to go bang, there is every chance the car would be the basis of a LS1 transplant. Who knows.

I've actually been an un-subbed member for sometime, as I am a moderator over on 350z-uk and part helped to organise LakeZ 2011.(More info on LakeZ 2012 to come soon). I had a pretty nicely modified (if I do say so myself!) 350z, which I looked into TT'ing, but it would have been the first TT HR engined Zed in the country and was gonna cost more than the car was worth. So instead I part ex-d it for a VXR8 (LS3) and had a play around with 440bhp for a year or so. Got shot in the summer, and have been moping around in difference sheds of various guises, the latest of which is a Honda Accord Tourer. Time has come to get myself a Zed once again, but due to impending house buying and family additions I can't justify the cost of another 350z, or of a TT 300. So as such I have settled on a n/a 300 which I can take my time over and have some fun. Some of you will have already seen my wanted thread, so know that I am talking to a few members about their n/a's, but if anyone does have an n/a they are thinking about selling then drop me a PM. Most things considered, though would prefer a shortie. Shameless pic-whore time:

LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
Here's a rundown of those who won this years accolades (and a wee little trophy!) (cut and posted from the 350z-uk thread) Judging was done by myself, George (The G Man), and a very enthusiastic Laura (Jay's other half). I can't remember everyones name (real or forum) so it's just pics! I've stole them from the main pics thread ;) 240Z 260Z 300ZX 350Z Coupe 350Z Convertable 370Z Coupe 370Z Convertable Non-present Overall car of show And finally, the triumph in the face of adversity (and spare trophy not claimed by 370 convertables!) goes to......... Vik.....despite the events with that biker, and the damage to your car, you remained up beat, cheerful, and plenty of fun. Wouldnt have been the same show without you there! And could all those there, spare a thought for the young lady who delivered the flowers to the hotel on the Friday afternoon, and was then involved in a horrifc collision as she left the grounds, resulting in her being cut out of the vehicle. I got word from the hotel that she is ok, and on the mend. I've told them to blame George since she was delivering flowers for his anniversary surprise!

- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
Er.....actually no. Max has organised the route, and I'm assured its a good one. I'm personally from the NE, so don't know the roads round there at all, so I'm taking his word for it! I won't be doing the drive though, as my big Aussie V8 isn't suited to the twisty roads of the Lakes.- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
For those wishing to do the Saturday drive out, we are expecting it to begin from the Heaves Hotel at circa 0930. I'd aim to be there around 0900 though.- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
Obviously it will be starting at the Heaves Hotel- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
Max is finalising the drive details as I speak. We are still contemplating what time will be best. On one side we want to avoid the tourists, and on the other we dont want members possibly over the limit on the drive. I'll speak to Martin and Max and get a firm decision, and get back to you.- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
With the weekend fast approaching I thought ir was about time that I posted up some more details. Firstly the venue. The owners and staff at the Heaves Hotel have been fantastic and have helped out a lot with getting this to work. There are a few rules in place but these are very basic and more common sense than restictions. No open fires or bonfires on the site. Anyone wishing to use disposable BBQs please dont use them directly on the grass. Its appreciated that those camping will bring some drink with them but please remember that the Hotel has a bar which we are welcome to use but dont take you own drink into the building. There will be seperate areas for camping, non zed parking and zed parking, these will be signed. I dont want to make things too formal but as we will be getting a few visitors and taking a lot of pics this will simplify things. Please remember that the toilets and showers rented for the weekend are rented by the organisor and although the hotel provides power and water for them they have no other control or responsibility for them. They are of a very good standard but if you have any problems contact one of the organisors and not the hotel. We have taken up all the rooms in the Hotel so there will be no complaints from other guests, just fellow owners ;) Itinerary. There is a very general one. Do what you want, its your weekend and there are lots of things to choose from. Friday, arrive, tyre kick, a bit of food and a few drinks. Saturday morning, breakfast and the drive out. Refreshments from the hotel during the day. 1900 the band will start. This will be indoors in the unlikely event that the weather isnt glorious. The buffet will be served when they take their break. £6 per ticket for this. The band will finish at 2200. Sunday morning breakfast and once everyone is with it the car judging for each model categorey and the show and shine will be done. The raffle will then be drawn. As this is a multi forum weekend I have tried to keep most of the prizes non car specific. The traders one 350z-uk heavily supported the annual Wales meet a few weeks back, so we can't be leabing on them too heavily for prizes. Arrival at the Heaves. For all arriving on the M6 north or south exit at J36 heading for Kendal. From the North if its busy you may take a while getting onto the roundabout off the motorway. There will probably be a police car parked on the far side of the roundabout so for those with loud buttons take it easy. From the south there is no give way after the slip road so keep in the left hand lane and drive on. The police in the area are fine, they are very busy sorting out other problems so will not bother you unless you want them to. Unlike some places our camera vans look like they should and are in clear view. I will check their website for locations each day. The police are aware of the weekend but are used to them. Having left the M6 and joined the A591 dual carriageway take the first exit, a few miles from the motorway. Signposted to Barrow, A590. This drops down to a roundabout which again can be busy. Turning left be aware that you will shortly need to take a right turn, its the second one and has a reasonable filter lane. The road is a dual carriageway so get into the right lane soon after the roundabout and try to ease any following traffic down. I will put a forum flag by the gate but there is a big sign for the hotel There are a few petrol stations in the area but I would recommend filling up before you are. I will add a list of ppetrol station when I have chance to check what they have. Please see the bottom of the post for details. Anyone staying off site, i have local taxis available. Anyone planning to drive through Grange over Sands with a lowered zed, they have a speed bump from hell. I dont drive through grange. Should anyone still need rooms i still have them in my local. Mates rates. Should anyone drive towards Barrow be warned, we have a local farm converted to a zoo so you will be driving with Rhinos and giraffes in the fields next to you. There is a supermarket pretty close should anyone need anything (Asda). One last one, tourists are here to enjoy the views and dont watch what they are doing, assume everyone else is an idiot and you will be fine. Petrol stations with super unleaded within 20 mils. Due to logical challenges (mainly the £1700 cost for transport), Big Sam will not be attending I'm afraid. Our thanks go to the owners for offering to show the car, but there is simply no way for us to be able to cover the transport costs of London - Lakes in covered transport.- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
yup. No problems. I dont even own a Zed anymore, I'll be in my HSV. There will be a non Zed parking area.- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
Apologies for not getting back to this sooner. Work and all. Yeah, its all pay on the door. And news just in; We will have this car present for people to have a bit of a google at; http://www.classicandperformancecar.com/features/octane_features/256900/driven_datsun_240z_club_racer.html- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
It's £10 for the entire weekend (this is per car, not per person). There will be showers and toilets provided for those who are camping. Camping costs £5 per person for the weekend - this cost is to cover part of the cost of the toilets and showers.- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
Oh, and to try and prevent any cross forum conflicts, you can contact me via PM on this forum so that you don't have to contact Z-Club committee members (for reasons that are now all explained and clear) There will be a few different convoys going to this - from Scotland, the NE, and various southern starts- LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
Final details and prices are now set. The price will be a deal less than what we initially thought. Which is always good news. If you require the buffet, please contact Martin in advance so we know. - LakeZ 2011 Fri 24th, Sat 25th Sunday 26th June
