Advice On speed limlter
UK car will not have a 112mph limiter. Also we do not deal with Z31's here, try over at http://www.zclub.net

***fast Idle***
loads of threads about this. Clean throttle bodies and IAV, check TPS setting and closed throttle switch, adjust base idle correctly, if its still too high you have a vac leak. This is of course made MUCH easier with the use of a conzult/datascan.

2000 bhp on mi driveway
love the grey one :D my driveway only had 2 today :( :p

What you reckon ?
I don't think i'll ever understand this concept, looks like a bone stock car with big wheels, a hideous bodykit and a respray (he claims its awesome but the engine bay hasn't been touched ). That money is down the drain if you ask me, could have been peoperly spent on some nice suspension and brake parts which will actually make the car better.

Power through a auto
another wolverhampton member I hadn't noticed, cropping up more and on here :p Anyway, a good condition box with fresh fluid and a good cooler will take all the mods you can do on stock turbo's/injectors. Life will be reduced, but it should hold. Any mods past that level will quickly blow the box.

Bringing a Zed into the UK from NZ
nothign at all, for a car this age you only need to get an MOT on it (will fly through emmissions even with the control systems junked and decats in), then you can register it. You don't need a mph speedo either, that is up to you.

Competency of my local Tein dealer...?
of course, you could just wind it all the way to the other end and see if its lower or higher with your own eyes :p

Move Engine by numbers FAQ?
pic is missing det sensor connector.
-
Will a TT lump run out of the Zed ??
yep autobox will go on too no problem, just need the gearbox ecu too. You will want to use the same circumference rear tyres on as a zed too, failing that you would need to mod the speed sensor to adjust, otherwise the gearbox won't like it.
-
Will a TT lump run out of the Zed ??
dont see why not, just need the ecu, use the existing loom or make your own. And yes, you will need all the gizmo's attached.

boost problem
I've got a mates car with a very similar problem, 6psi all the time, it had a code 34 but we bypassed the det sensor and now all is ok in that department, but still 6psi allbeit much quicker than before. Wastegate solenoids seem connected. With 1.2mm jets in, boost reaches 8psi but drops away to 6 at higher revs.

no, it just provides heating for the throttle bodies, to prevent them from freezing up in very cold weather. Thing is we don't get weather that cold in this country so they aren't really needed and only serve to increase the chsrge temperature.

Own up! whos is this?
i dont think that is gold mesh, i think it is just rusted mesh from the pics anyway.

hmm some would say (JD im looking at you :p) that copper plugs have their advantages over platinums, however the obvious disadvantage being that they will last about 5k tops.

yes deffinatly, do as much as you can while the engine is out! Such a pain in the arse to get access to a lot of things with the engine in situ. One thing I would deffinatly do while the engine is out is to bypass the throttle body water heating system. If the pipes at the back of the engine leak they are near impossible to replace with the engine in.

I guess your vibration is caused by the prop, if it were bad wheel balance it would probably occur at a higher speed and be unnaffected by gear. As for the misfire, if they are bargain basement plugs then put them in the bin and get some proper NGK's in. I would have my concerns about this, if the previous owner was a cheapskate with the plugs then what else has he cut corners on?? If that doesn't fix it then get an expert in these cars to give it the once over. There is no point in blindly replacing parts, you could end up wasting a lot of money and getting nowhere. A good price, but what condition is it in? I have seen these cheap zeds before and not liked what I have seen.

NZR what Monitor size have you got?
there is imo, the lab mac machines at uni have the 23" cinema displays, and imo they are too large. 27" must be ridiculous, do you sit 4ft away from the thing to see the whole picture! I don't like big monitors, the resolution is nowhere near high enough, makes everything huge like its for the visually impaired or something, not to mention being able to see the individual pixels. For programming my favourite setup has to be dual head 17" TFT's, have what you are working on on one screen and use the other for reference, look at another part of your code, an API, or a compiler. Gaming is superb on widescreen though, on almost all games, it simply gives you a wider field of view, so you can see more, a more natural look imo, not to mention having an advantage over square box viewers :p

Oil under pressure
if you really have no oil pressure it will blow up in about 5 seconds lol, I wouldn't worry about it, wise to get a decent gauge though.
-
NZR what Monitor size have you got?
none of the above :p 15.4" widescreen on my laptop, has to be said i really like the widescreen ratio, its good for everyday use and brilliant for gaming. I would prefer a 5:4 for programming though, having no height is an annoyance in that situation.
-
Oil under pressure
dunno about the marks you are on about, but with a hot engine it is normal for the stock gauge to read about 1/4 of the way accross when idling. The stock pressure senders are notoriously bad though, sometimes the gauge will randomly fall to 0 even though the pressure is fine.

Standard Boost guage stuck at 0
It doesn't go directly onto the balance bar, you will see the boost solenoids just below that black box with a maze of hoses going to and from it. There is a T-piece on one of those hoses, almost directly beneath the boost sender, that is where it connects.
-
MPG Manual TT
depends entirely on how you drive it, it is pretty thirsty however though.
-
crazy mofos!
this video is as old as the hills :p
-
Standard Boost guage stuck at 0
stays at 0 all the time from when you turn on the ignition? If so, the hose has likely come off the sender, it is the small black box on the inner wing, drivers side, next to the brake cylinder.
