afaik the MR2 engine will hit the valves if the belt snaps. I know for sure the scooby engines are non interference design though.

i reckon i could do it, afterall ive got ages to do it. I tried to look at the ttzd tech article last night but it wasnt working. Ill try again now.

on the fronttop water pipe (aluminium one), theres 2 sensors on it, one for the dash gauge and one for the ECU, you want the one for the ECU, it has a yellow connector, give it a good clean up.

not seen the film, but the revs rise/fall can be caused by a bad temperautre sensor harness connection.

Fed up of waiting, the zed is sitting in the garage doing nothing for the while, so I figured I may as well give this a go, so has anyone done this, and if so how difficult is it? Thanks

hmm, the one I had from John Dixon certainly does screw with the steering, and I could swear it screws with the autobox also, it sometimes seems like it doesnt know which gear it should be in, and as he said the steering is MUCH lighter with it, at high speeds the front feels so light its a bit frightening tbh.

lol, thats funny, the VQ engine is as Nissan as they come, no french in it. Clarkson was speaking utter crap when he said it was french.
