yep, theres a switch on the brake pedal, you should hear a click under the lever as soon as you touch the brake pedal.

aircon pump is knackered, happened to mine, makes a whirring noise at high revs right? Sounds really awful at idle and gets louder and louder till it sounds so nasty you hit the off button?

jap tyres are all part of the fun :D Japanese Yoko ADVAN's on ours when it came, christ it was slippery. Dunlops on now though and it sticky like glue.
