Back from the latest Scottish meet and run, a unanimous descision was made by all attending (me :D ) to change the route slightly. left from Grangemouth past Stirling then Callander, Tyndrum then through Glencoe at Ballachulish turned down the coast for Oban then back across country headning for Tyndrum with a stop at Loch Awe for a bar meal mmmmmmm! then it was back the same way I came. The roads were a bit busy the first stage but from Glen Coe on it quietened down with plenty clear streches and multiple overtakes (only got a few remarks from the other half :nono: ) all in all a good run, but I didnt reset the trip meter properly so i dont know how many miles i did :headvswal. Mabey nextime there will be more than one Z on the club trip :p     Ps Craig sorry but I never got anywhere Perth mabey next time though

Sorry Craig have been offline for a couple of weeks, house is up for sale so the missus has made me hide the computer :( . only able to set it up now and again. just spent the week end dropping the sub frame and doing the pipes Only broke one of the front mounting plate retaining bolts, and a couple of the pipe plastic cover retainers. The pipes were still awkward even with the suspension dropped but then I only dropped it about 4", cause im a lazy git and didnt want to remove the exhasts etc. just got the hicas end to fit if i get time this week.

As long as I get the car through its Mot I'll be there (fookin brake pipes an sticky calipers, ohh and hicas end) A nice run sounds good. a good blast up the A84 towards Oban/ Ft William would be good. Even just to Tyndrum/ Crainlarich then back down Loch Lomond side :)
  19. they dont check the LSD as part of the test, but mabey decided to carry out a tapley brake test. rather than risk damaging the diff on the rolling road.

 . I had a rover a few years back, it was a fookin great car ( apart from electric windows keeping going titsup and the central locking packing in). It was the 800 Vitesse, with the brit (not jap) 2ltr Turbo engine, It went like shit of a shovel when you wanted it to and when you took it easy could manage 40 mpg. For a big car i thought that was great. I bought it when it was 2 years old and kept it for 5 years with 150000mls on the clock it was still going strong. When I bought it I was moving on from a MK1 Supra 2.8i which had started to dissolve, I wanted a 4 door with similar performance and was looking at an Alfa 164 3.0 which the motoring press praised at the time as a superb drivers car, tried one an thought it was crap, seen the rover in a local garage, checked the performance specs and gave it a test run and :D :D :D, SOLD!!!! Gave a 164 owner a shot of it and he was really impressed !!! Now I know I'll get slagged for liking the rover, but i really coudnt fault it, and I really missed it when i sold it. Nearly everyone motoring press included always slags of rovers ( I always remember the 800 old fart tag), but the one I had was big, fast (not Z fast),reliable (apart from those fookin windows) comfy and pretty economical what more could you ask for. I wonder If the people who slagged rover had ever actually driven one, and instead of going by hearsay and listening to "those in the know" made up their own minds. I reckon rover would still be going strong today. Rant over!!
  24. cooont !!!!, :xxx:, thought it was gen and was stating hard at the pics. just glad the sound was down quite low or the room could have got a bit smelly. I really should read through the threads before clicking on any links like these
  25. a few years back a workmates sister drove her car home from work and noticed the temp gauge was getting high, when she got home she asked her dad to have a look to see what was wrong. he lifted the bonnet and found some c*nt had nicked the radiator.
