  5. Welcome Vacantstare :) Many (possibly the majority?) of us Zed owners use them as 2nd/weekend cars and they serve that purpose very well (not that they dont suit everyday driving too ofcourse). The cars themselves are Very robust(I've had quite a few german cars, and still have a Bmw 535i, and cant complain about build quality with the zed) and japanese cars are very highly regarded for their reliablity. Saying that, the zed is not a "typical car", it is powerfull and often driven hard. But you do get the benfit of most of them being low mileage for their age (expecially imports). Turbo's can let go at 60-80k, but many last to over 120k (there are signs to look for before buying). Turbo replacement is a engine-out job. The trouble is you will only ever hear the horror stories. Those that dont have problems, dont usually post to say so. Be sure to check out the Buyers guide They are ok for doing your own DIY minor servicing, but they are not the easiest cars to work on. There are quite a few specialist Traders across the country, and part of this Forum. (see traders section). I would recomend trying to purchase one from a Forum member. That way you know its being owned by an enthusiast and you can read up on its past on the forum. You've made the right choice ;) Good luck. :duffer:
  6. Dear Santa, I'll have 1 of everything, thanks. ! I could cut and paste my Zmas list, but I'd reach the maximum characters allowed limit  :slap:
  7. Guess I did'nt word that very well. Yes 90mph is quick, 90mph is 90mph...but I dont feel that 90mph is too fast on a clear (or at least, not busy) Motorway...not fast enough to warrant a Ban if your caught twice. 30mph max in a 30 zone, 40mph in a 40 zone, and Im fairly strict with myself at that.......but on the motoway(conditions permitting) I find 90mph an acceptable cruising speed.
  8. British Motorways have a dated speed limit that badly needs to be increased. Im also a 90mph'ish Motorway cruiser, and it IMO it aint fast. Read a couple of years ago that the AA were campaigning for a rise to 80mph, but never heard anything since.
  9. nice setup and like the monitor install in centre console
  10. unfortunatly the law is the law, your only allowed tints that let thru less than 70% on the rear windows :( I'd pay the fine, and just hope u dont get caught again. http://www.pentagonglasstech.com/news_legal_update.asp
  11. lol..see another good reason not to get an Elise
  12. bump - for those that missed this earlier, and confused by missing posts
  13. Dave, all posts since last night were lost, when the Forun database got corrupted. The forum had to be reverted back to last nights backup.

Me agree. Not a fan of those spoilers, but it actually suits that car.

Pmsl  He put it there deliberatly, to make the zed look better :p
  19. very sorry to hear that greg :( :( I hope the others will be ok. Its a terrifying eye opener when something like that happens to somebody you know. My thoughts go out to you, his family, and others that knew him. :( RIP.

  22. Not stillen, but http://www.smithys-place.co.uk does the turbo hard pipe kit with discount for club members.
  23. Yeh, all US Twin Turbo's are SWB, so only 2+2's in there are NA's. Suprising really, considering US is all about bigger the better.
  24. GTST - 2.5 Single Turbo - 250bhp 300zx - 3.0 Twin Turbo - 300 bhp You'll also find the GTST will cost a lost more to tune, hindered largely by its high compression ratio and plastic impellered single turbo. ...although I see that the Skyline your interested in has had work done. Another thing to bear in mind is that the Skyline in Japan is nothing more than a Family car, it has the same image as a Mondeo. Its only when you say Skyline GTR does it mean anything over there. (bit like escort and escort cosworth). The Zed is special. The original Japan "Supercar". The Fastest and most expensive japanese car when launched. The Skyline GTS is just a fast(ish) family car.
  25. While I was visiting Relatives, drove past house wearing Black Wheels with Red outer rims, driving thru Village of Mount Hawke. Aftermarket Exhaust.
