Cornwall Meet
I have relatives in the Redruth area, and travel down that way every couple of months. I dont currently have any set plans to visit there at the minute, but If you guys want to put forward some weekend dates, I'll see what I can do. Im hoping to setup a more southerly meet withing the next few months. Probably in Devon, as its a good midway point. Possibly an all day event, something to make the travel worthwhile for everyone. Will keep you updated, but let me know if you have any ideas. Cheers, David

annoying beep
For the speedo, it sounds like either the Convertor did'nt work, or they just did'nt fit one. When removing the speed clime (as above) take the clocks out at same time, and check at the back of the clocks for a small black box wired into the unit. Could just be a wire that comes loose if they have fitted it.

Buying a 300ZX
All cars newer than 1992 must have cat fitted. However the Zed does not appear on any MOT test data sheets, and therefore has be tested as a non-cat car if its older than 1995. I have mine gutted rather than replaced, and so there would be no way of the Police being able to tell, even if it was illegal. p.s I placed a link to the buyers guide in my post above, but glad u found it anyway ;) lol

clear rears DIY
I dont think you'll be able to get an exact match here. Its not just the colour, but the pattern and clarity too. directcircuit.com is where everyone gets them from. (zxdriver.com also sell, but their feedback has become less than positive. Delivery took 4-5 days I think for mine to arrive.

Buying a 300ZX
Welcome Rob :D UK Models (89-94) 2+2 Twin Turbo T-Top Jap Models (89-2000) 2+2 Twin Turbo T-Top 2+2 NA T-Top 2+0 (2 seater/SWB) Twin Turbo - T-top or Hardtop 2+0 (2 seater/SWB) NA - T-top or Hardtop Convertable 2-seater - NA only The most common is the 2+2 Twin Turbo T-top The Rarest is the 2+0 Twin Turbo Hardtop All our avaible with Manual or Auto gearbox Climate control is standard Leather is optional - Japs come with 225 wide rear tyres. UK's come with 245 wide. - Jap Auto's ideally require an uprated Oil cooler for european roads (less than £150 for the conversion) - Uk and Japs have slightly different Hicas 4ws settings (but nothing to be of concern) - Japs have Electric Folding mirrors. - Japs imports are generally more common and usually have lower mileage (if genuine). - Uk's can be cheaper on insurance, but have to watch out for Rust/Rot from years of UK weather. A good site for model comparisons : http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm Buyers guide : http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm

Jag XJSR thoughts
Well its a lot slower than a zed, does'nt handly anywhere near as good, has a dated interior, cost a lot more to maintain and fuel and has a dodgy used car dealer image. But apart from that ;) All IMO ofcourse :)

Sway bars / antiroll bars
Im looking to replace the stock sway bars with uprated items very soon. From what I have read these are make a very noticable difference to handling. The Guys on tt.net swear by them. Stillen, Suspension techniques and Whiteline offer them. Have anyone fitted the Whiteline kit, or know anything about them Stillens are 28mm Front and 21mm rear, and come highly recomended, but the Whiteline kit seems a bargain. £86 front - 27mm £61 Rear - 20mm http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/catalogue/appdata2.asp?manf_id=37&manfdesc=Nissan&code=WHIARB&app_id=68640&x=86&y=11 (stock is 27mm front, 21mm rear Hollow items?) Anybody know if they are hollow or Solid..otherwise I dont see how they offer any advantage over stock.

Ask the PM a question
lol, especially since he is more than likely the one unofficially running the country at the moment...and no doubt it will become official once Tony steps down very shortly
-
do front and rear strut braces make a difference??
Its marginal, with the rear making the most difference. The most noticable difference in improving handling (over shocks and springs) is said to be uprated sway bars(anti-roll bars) - In fact many people quote this as an absolute must and the first modification you should make to improve handling.
