  1. This was all over Facebook the other day. Clarkson announced it in an Interview.
  2. the best solution is to use a dedicated 12v Carputer Intelligent PSU. They have 5v outputs for turning on the AMP (with a timer delay to prevent amp "THUD" from switch on) , and can be setup to automatically switch on with Igntiion, while preventing Spiking from Engine starting (serious issue!) and can be setup to shutdown the system properly (ie. go into sleep mode or shutdown the OS and powerdown properly) with ignition off...and even delay it by a certain time, like if you were just popping into the petrol station but didnt want to have to shut down and reboot inbetween. They will even monitor the Car Battery to switch the carputer from sleepmode to full shutdown if battery gets below a configured voltage. http://linitx.com/product/10917
  3. lol Bear in mind I've not really looked into carputers in several years, so Im probably out of touch these days. That looks like it would do the job. Simplest solution for long bootups is have it wake from sleep rather then a complete bootup. Even with a relatively low spec carputer system , but using a cutdown Windows OS you can be fully up and ready to use in 10-15secs.
  4. For screens there are a couple of main VGA touchscreen manufactures like Lilliput or Xenarc. for UK retailers, Something like http://linitx.com/product/10773 They also do the new anti-glare screens which are quite expensive but Sun glare is a big issue in the car, especially the Z. http://linitx.com/category/185/115,185
  5. You want 3.5mm to RCA splitter cable, like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5M-Metre-3-5mm-Stereo-Audio-Jack-2x-Twin-Male-RCA-Phono-Plugs-Gold-Cable-Lead-/280749715818?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Other&hash=item415dfcb16a or you could run an External sound card that has RCA outputs.
  6. ah, well if its got the Larger memory option then its a good purchase.
  7. its worth paying a little extra for the 9800gtx if within your price range. Both are good old skool cards, but the 9800 is more powerful, can handle more and so will be better value in the long term.
  8. I get ridiculed every time I post those pics. The system had all the family mp3 collection on it, and was on random/shuffle. Never noticed when i took the pics and have regretted it ever since
  9. Great choice. Probably the best Diesel car in the world. Last time I drove one I averaged 45mpg and that was while having some fun. Im sure it would be be 50+ on motorway runs, and still quicker than most petrol cars.
  10. Crazy low price. Somebody needs to snap that up. yeh, I've had a lot of U.S owners ask me about the TT conversion on my slicktop and then telling me im wrong when I tell them its an original TT. Common opinion in the U.S, where the slicktop was only available as NA there.
  11. its long gone now unfortunately, and was a total PITA to do! Cutting, fibreglass, filler, sanding...etc
  12. No, if your reading from the Conzult port then it can only read the sensors the ECU reads, and the ECU does not read Boost.
  13. Carputer with 7" VGA Touchscreen. Pics from about 5 years ago.
  14. yeh Nissan Datascan is a great piece of software for what you want. I used to be the UK reseller for them, years ago, its been very popular with club members. I used to deal with Blazt for the USB and RS232 Conzult cables, but I think they may have shut down. I suspect they ebay ones will be fine, but not used them myself.
  15. very familiar. Dont believe its a club member though..or at least not seen it in the club. But I remember seeing it at JAE in 2004,2005...maybe 2006
  16. Yes, but the front offset is a bit weak. For that size you would really want a ET20 , or you could fit a 15mm hubcentric Spacers on the front.
  17. mind......BLOWN ! WTF!? but..but...how
  18. Those are original 99spec xenon headlights (fitted to the 99-00 300zx). Thats the price from Nissan dealer. A little cheaper from Z1 though - http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_13&products_id=1102 The Diablo was indeed fitted with 300zx headlights, straight from Nissan. (Lamborghini covered up the Nissan logo with a Carbon strip).
  19. Zcentre and ebay copies dont have the hole cut out. They could be real veilsides, but chances are they are not as the copies are everywhere and the originals pretty rare. Not that it really makes a difference.
  20. yeh Velside C1 copies. Zcentre sell them under some other name. Dont recognise the alloys.
  21. Happy Birthday John :balloon:
  22. UK and Jap Spec. The measurements are roughtly the same, just in different pressure units. Uk Model is in -14 to +14 psi. Jap Model is in mmHGx100 (-7 to +7) +7 mmHGx100 is about 13.5 psi Stock boost is the same on both (9psi), which should go just past the half way mark(thick line) on positive side, although the stock gauges are not very accurate so do not rely on them at all.
