Have you tried http://www.greenlightinsurance.com ? They were the only ones I could get to insure me at a sensible price with all mods declared. Even the oft-recommended companies couldn't compete. Disclaimer: I have no connection with them other than as a satisfied customer.

I bought my car for £7k and it already had the following mods: SE bodykit, alloys, stage 2 turbos, air filter, uprated clutch, underdrive pulley, full SS exhaust system, boost gauge, forged pistons, running @ 16 psi - and a full engine re-build by SE/Nisstek. Since then I have only spent on two new Eagle F1 rear tyres, servicing by Ztech and a Road Angel 2 - so less than £1k spent.

Nice one! I've been thinking for a while about cutting a 300ZX into the front mesh - I think I might now :)
