  1. Speaking as a competitive archer (Gloucester indoor County champ for 2 years running), I would say that when it comes to teaching people what they need to know to be able to perform (at whatever level), a piece of paper (ie. a certificate) means absolutely nothing. My coach has no qualifications at all other than being a nice bloke who listens and knows how to communicate to people what they need to do. He won a regional Performance Coach of the Year award last year (and couldn't work out why 'cos he was just doing what he's always done). I reckon you should ditch the course, FWIW.
  2. It is a Jap thing. My mate's got it on his LWB Red Fairlady.
  3. I've got a UK series 2 model which has black leather seats and black alcantara panels. Too much black if you ask me. I'd go for the two tone if I was re-doing it.
  4. Pernod and black and Bailey's = Baby's Brains. The blackcurrant curdles the Bailey's and makes it go lumpy.
  5. I took my car in today for an oil change and to get Ryan to do a water bypass. He very quickly established that the water bypass had already been done and that the hose to the heater matrix was the problem (and saved me £220 in the process). While his brother with small hands ;) fixed the hose, Ryan sorted out the oil, water, antifreeze and power steering fluid and gave my car a general look over for other problems. He found an oil leak from the crankcase and I'll have no hesitation in going back to him to get it sorted. Top bloke, outstanding customer service and very, very knowledgable. A rare thing these days. I wish him all the best when he goes full-time :)
  6. Just a reminder...... Men & Motors countdown of Top 100 cars - Z at no. 45. Anticipated time 7:30 - 8:00pm tonight.
  7. Mine does this too. When filling up, does everyone else have to turn the petrol nozzle 90 degrees too (to stop the fuel supply cutting out)?

Nice job! Looks like your handbrake needs adjusting though ;) (mine's the same)
  11. eg. 10^2 = 100 10^-2 = 0.01
  12. I guess a Chav will want to know if it's region 1 or 2, though.
  13. ms^-1 is metres per second (which denotes constant speed) ms^-2 would be metres per second, per second (which would denote acc/decceleration)
  14. Nice one guys! I've just ordered a set too :)

    Good on yer, shunter!
  16. I got my only acceptable quote from Greenlight Insurance, after Houghtons (even with club discount) and Flux, and many, many others were too expensive for me (2 small claims in 5 years, only 1 year no claims, 10k mile limit).
  17. Sorry for your loss :(
  18. In the cold light of day, it looks like WillieO is spot on :(
  19. !!!! Thanks for the tip!
  20. Cheers Mike, I hadn't thought of that. It was raining at the time and I was parked on a slight slope - could well have been rain channeling onto the hot plenum. I will keep a close eye on it and get it checked too.
  21. Yep, it has a bonnet vent.
  22. Just bought my first Z, so I don't know too much about them yet....... On Saturday I drove the car from Essex to Coventry without any problem at all. Tonight, I got home after a 70 mile semi-fast drive and let the engine run for about 10 mins and all was fine (I was learning about the radio while I waited) and switched off. I went back to playing with the radio. About 2 mins later I noticed lots of steam(?) pouring towards the windscreen. I immediately popped the bonnet and went to have a look. The plenum was making a popping and hissing sound and there was a lot of heat being thrown off. There was no indication of this while I was driving. I let the engine cool down more and checked the oil and water about 2.5 hours later. They both seemed fine. I'm a bit paranoid about driving it now until I know what's happened. Does anybody have any ideas, please?
  23. Maybe the owner is a giant who likes skateboards and he wanted a kickplate on the back?
