Zyban works. For less drastic (and more pleasurable) measures, try pipe smoking or cigar smoking (the goal is not to inhal). I took up the pipe and quit my 25 a day habit of 16 years in 2 weeks. I still smoke pipes and cigars, but do not inhale, and the relaxation of this kind of smoking far outweighs the minimal (if any at all) helath risk. If you look at insurance tables for pipe smokers (in particular) the life expectancy is actually longer than people who do not smoke at all! I can also go for days without a pipe or cigar and not feel any cravings and I don't wheeze any more after climbing the stairs.

Me and the missus hung around at the bowling place from 6.15pm until Deb and Ellie showed up shortly after, then Anna and Kath. I had a look through the window of the mexican place but didn't see anyone. Sorry you're ill, Dave - thanks for organizing it and thanks to Anna for organizing us so we could start bowling. Good to see everyone :)
