  1. If the fuel pump ecu is the same between the swb and the lwb I have one in my blue zed I could always drive it up to you lol
  2. Awesome picks, I didn't know you were a tasty blond though
  3. They are fitted to stock cars, most of the times the studs that the bolts bolt onto to fit it to the car can rust and snap when that happens most people leave it off, but it is actually for keeping the temps down in the cabin, ever had that warm feeling near the gear stick yet no air flowing though the vent? Lol
  4. That's the one he is on about I think
  5. Welcome to the club matey, pictures though it's the law lol
  6. Well i never had one on my blue zed, never noticed anything, i think its more for warmer climates to stop the heat filtering into the cabin from the exhaust, but dont quote me on that.
  7. quite a few of your replies about saying "you didn't say it went off topic" to my reply, was for the people who said it did, that post was not directed at anyone in particular except where i have pointed it out. as for the pot kettle comment, how was "piss" and "shit" insulting, im sorry if you found that insulting, but it wasn't even directed at anyone and was taken out of context, it was asking a simple question as to how we should moderate. I say it should of been suggested by PM, not to brush it under the carpet, but to draw it to our attention so it could of been dealt with more effectively had we failed to react to a simple PM, then yes a post, when i sign in, i get a pop up saying i have a PM and thats the first thing i usually check. we also have a "report post" button that PM's the entire moderation team and also sends out an email. we had received no reported posts from that thread to say people were insulted, annoyed, wanted it edited or anything. had this feature been used for its intended purpose it would of made the entire team aware of the situation. as i said, i only read the first post and 2 replies. then i was busy checking other posts and doing other things and never actually got back onto that thread until today. With power does come great responsibility, that is correct, but not all the time every base is covered, the forum is not manned by a mod between the hours of around 4am to 6am on most nights for instance, if something happens between those hours and all hell breaks loose, then until someone gets online, nothing is done about it. If anyone has any issues with any posts made, the reported post button should be used and we will try our best to look into it in a timely manner.
  8. Id do it, though not sure i could quite pass off as disabled to start with, not sure i know many disabled people in a chair that live on a 1st floor flat, but as long as i can get the chair in a zed, i sure as hell would. My friends dad lost his leg to gangrene, and never used his chair ever since he went to the pub and fell off a curb on the way back, getting his front wheel stuck in a drain, have to admit though we were all in hysterics including him, as he was still kind of upright but leaning over in it while shouting obscenities, while laughing and pissed late at night. after that me and my friend used to use it, and i have to say people are completely ignorant, they didn't know if we were genuinely in a chair, and getting around shops once you were in them was quite a nightmare, as people just dont give a shit about you in it. even trying to get up a curb that wasn't lowered for a drive for instance, people would stare at you struggling but not offer to help. I cant say about the financial side involved, but i know he had to have his house heavily modified for him, a walk in shower / bathroom, stair chair, ramp to the front door fitted with hand rail and he paid for that out of his own money.

  11. Having only just caught up on this, i read the first post and a few replies and everything was on track at that point, ive just caught up on the rest of the thread, and to be honest, we have been ear bitten before in the past for moderating threads, we either get moaned at for moderating, or we get moaned at for not moderating, there are a few replies in there that are border line insulting. and ill be PM'ing the offending people, the rest were just a discussion with people's personal views on the subject matter so not really off topic, to say we should of moderated it as it went off topic is a bit harsh when we have had other posts go completely off topic with not so much as a mention before let alone a separate thread regarding it, i understand that being disabled is seen as a sensitive subject matter, but we have been accussed (and very recently) of not allowing free speach and "heavy handed moderation", so which is it? free speach but piss people off? or moderate and get shit thrown at us? I do however think it should of been less insulting and that should of been dealt with while the thread was still open and viewable to the general member base, but we are only human and not every time do we spot what is actually taking place in time to deal with it effectively, we are after all only volunteers Im not trying to brush this under the carpet far from it, but there are certain posts thats will always flair up very opinionated responses, including but not limited to religion, politics, benefits...ect. May i take this opportunity to remind people that this is first and foremost a car forum, we tolerate off topic posts, but what we wont tolerate and im surprised no one picked up on things, is personal attacks directed at people due to what ever circumstances they have in life. A PM to draw it to our attentions if you think we missed the point, should of been suffice, instead of slating the entire moderating team / running of the forum, for failing to miss something. (im sure you have missed things in your line of work before jeff) A lot of us are busy at this present moment organizing things for the club and although we try our best to be leniant in certain aspects, not all the time we do we make the correct call, we are after all, only human.
  12. You wont be able to do isofix, thats a new system designed for newer cars, but if you source some UK spec rear seat belts and rear quarter panels, you can fit a forward facing car seat into the rear seats, i had 2 car seats (thrown now as they where involved in an accident in my last zed) that has a bit that folds under to accommodate bucket seats, other wise what you will find is the seat tends to lean to one side, unless you have the tweed interior, as the car seats tend to squash the foam better and hence hold the seat more stable, im going to try that expanding shaping foam and make some bases from my other leather seats, that fill the bucket part of the seat to allow car seats to be more stable when in the rear leather seats. also, if you only have the one child, i find its best to put them behind the passenger so the passenger seat can be quite far forward, the biggest issue with the early forward facing booster seats, is the amount of protective plastic they have, it can mean they have less leg room until around 4 years old, not to bad when still babys with short legs, but between the ages of 3 and 4 when they tend to have a growth spurt and sprout long legs, then unless the front seats are forward almost to the max point, then they have very limited leg room. Once they turn 4, you can swap to the booster seats that utilise the normal belt system and you get a lot less plastic to push the child seat forward, this gives them plenty of room in the back to dangle them leggy's.
  13. If you do not have a UK car or jap car that has UK rear seat belts, then the first thing you need to do is source some UK spec seat belts, rear panels and rear quarter window plastic, or you could just get the rear panel and seat belt and drill the hole in the plastic you need to get the top mount on the 3 point belt, bolted to the car.
  14. Agree, I've booked my car in at rgs Motorsport and that's £29 - 3 runs and print out
  15. lifter noise is still there, but temperamental, and only when the car has cooled from a run, other wise, engine is good, she pulls strong as well, ive turned the EBC off and its pushing 9psi at the turbos, that HKS one is a bit confusing so think at some point im going to swap over to my greddy profec B spec 2, as the HKS one doesnt have numbers or anything, just a series of LED lights that get progressively red, 3 settings on push buttons, low / high / manual and a turn dial that just says volume LOL Its a bit of a beast though, and thoroughly enjoying it, gotta admit the state of her when i picked her up was a bit deceiving, now the problems are sorted out, she is a fantastic car to drive. i swapped the rear seat belts over today as it still had the lap belts in and i needed the 3 point ones for the kids seats, and had a look down inside using my iphone's camera with the touch lit so i could see what it was light down inside the sills on the iphone screen and although there is the first signs of rust speckles (they are speckles not large rust patches) it all seems quite solid down there near the targa drain holes and along the sill, so quite impressed with that. It also has new weather strips on it including the drivers and passengers windows, the window trim is very supple still and not hard like my blue one, its also got new targa rubbers and door rubbers they are so soft and supple, it does need a good detailing though and does have a few scratches here and there that the camera doesnt pick up, also some of the paint has started to dull, so going to give her a good T-cut tomorrow while at Trax and see if that brings up the paint work a bit. she could do with a decent polish and buff, i think there is some decent paint there somewhere lol Have to admit Richard, when we got her to yours, i was questioning my self as to if id made the correct decision, but now the issues she had when i was at yours are sorted out, im actually loving it.
  16. well drove around at the local car meet yesterday, and went off to northampton today in it, no drama at all, sounds fantastic even though it is loud, could do with detailing, the photos do the paint a favour, it does have a few rust bubbles on the drivers arch and near the quarter window, but they are at the stage that they can be rubbed down and treated rather than replacing, the engine bay although polished plenum and hard pipes, it looks as though the car has been sat in a dusty room with the bonnet open, so could do with a hoover and goooood polish inside the car, its had the EGR deleted but none of the other stuff so far, so might have to tackle that again and get he engine bay sorted out, its feels very planted on the road, its lowered on lowering springs but could do with some misterR's as the ride is a bit stiff (not as stiff as my old cherry red one) anyway as i said still a bit rough around the edges but so far, a damn fun zed to be driving.
  17. Mine got called Darth Vader last night LOL
  18. thanks bud. still better than my photos and i usually take good ones, looked good on the phone LOL
  19. she looks good bud, was good to see you again, did you get a picture of mine? as the ones i took in that carpark came out bloody blurry LOL
  20. im glad im not the only one who cant stand them side skirts lol though they are riveted on, so might have to book in to see boldy and carmad for a smoother look, would also like my old rear bumper on the back. Damn exhaust is well loud though, think ill be swapping that for the one on my blue one. It is bloody quick though, got a Dyno day booked so going to see what its putting down. but since sorting everything, she is running lovely, even the noisy lifter has gone, whether it stays gone is another matter, really need to fit my EL dials though, really am missing that look at night on the dash.
  21. going to give it a good service, i have a receipt for a Greddy extreme timing belt here from Z1, and so far everything ive got a Z1 recipe for has matched up. going to whoop a timing cover off and have a look once ive checked z1 for pictures, to see if its been done.
  22. er... with out checking my PM's lol, not sure. Right everything is now sorted, ive actually ran out of stuff to fix for now. Overfueling sorted, took the nose panel off, there was the base of a HKS air filter, think the mesh and foam fell off LOL, it has a uprated oil cooler as well :D and noticed the dump valves, was taking the remains of the air filter off and noticed that either they had plugged the top intake pipe, but both sides had perished and also fell off (not likely) or they just didnt plug them (most likely) so took the plugs off my blue one, put the battery back on, engine now runs with out idling issues, no over fueling either, bit loud though, so think ill be changing the exhaust for my one as well, well bloody noisy lol, though now i have a very noisy lifter  typical these things rear there head after purchase not before. But other than needing to fit my rear carpet, S2 interior and wire in the rear Bose speakers (anyone got an original Bose stereo? as all the correct loom is present) oh fit my exhaust and change to my alloys, shes running fine for now so quite impressed to be honest.
