compression test...
Leaky stem seals will give you smoke on start from cold and will then clear, due to oil seeping into the cylinders over night or while the car is at rest. Are you sure it's not a smokey turbo, if it's piston rings your dip stick could pop out under boost / hard acceleration due to build up of crank case pressure. Though does sound more like leaky turbo seal if it's doing it on idle and it's defo oil smell (light blue tinge to the smoke)

Need to get music outta iphone 4s
what groover is trying to say lol plug phone into computer via USB, when itunes starts up and recognises your phone, just right click the iphone name in the left hand side list and then click "transfer purchases" this will put a copy onto your computer. Please note, any music purchased on the itunes store will only be able to be used with any computer your itunes account is actually authorised on, any iphone / ipod / ipad you are sharing your account with. out side that you are pretty much buggered. thats why i do not buy music / videos / movies on itunes, always best to purchase it out side of itunes and import it into it.

Free wheels! Who wants them?
i think what is putting people off, is the "pick up from" thats a distance for most people to travel, would it not be better to say "cost of postage" ? Paisley freight would be your best bet. cheep too for 16" wheels @ £27.99, obviously someone would need to be in for them to be picked up.

JAE 2013 ideas and constructive criticism
I find that having the correct sleeping bag tog (or in my case a quilt lol) works wonders and you end up striping off by morning as you are too hot lol

Low idle, stall, LIGHTS and buzzing!
There are relays mounted on the rear of the fuse box it could be one of them, it's not overly difficult to remove, remove the door sill, remove the plastic trim near the fuse box, remove the ancillary connectors of the side of the fuse box, 3x10mm bolts holding the fuse box in place, then it's a case of easing it out between the throttle pedal and the car body, remember to unplug as you go, you can't go wrong putting it back as most cables only go in the place they were intended, or they side pretty much where you would plug them in, there are a few connectors on the rear of the fuse box as well that need disconnecting The light light on the dash comes on when you have a bulb out, so could be a sign something isn't right around that area at the rear of the fuse box, I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that some items share the same relays at the rear of the fuse box If there are dodgy spelling mistakes in the above, it's because I'm using me iPad lol

Running Rough
well, first thing to do is the standard checks, with engine running remove each coil pack connector at a time and see if the engine note changes, if removing one doesnt change the engine tone, then you have found your dead cylinder, change the coil pack with a working one on the engine and see if the problem follows it, if it does replace the coil pack. if it doesnt and the same is happening, check to see if you have a spark on the spark plug Remove spark plug from cylinder, place in coil pack with coil pack connected, ground the spark plug (rest it against the plenum) and check for spark at tip when cranking / engine running, if there is a spark then its not the plug, if no spark replace with known working one and try again, if no spark you need to do a continuity check between the coil pack and the PTU, if the wire has continuity, then next up is cleaning and checking the PTU connectors, if these are corroded or showing oxidisation, clean up and see if this sorts out the issue, if this doesnt, then it might be time to check a PTU replacement. To help test the injectors, with engine running, place a long screw driver on the end cap of the injector and your ear on the handle, you should here a clicking sound, if this is all good your injectors are firing (this is only says the injectors are firing, not that they have the correct flow) To test the CAS unit, remove 3x10mm bolts (best done with a timing light handy) remove the CAS and with engine off but ignition on, rotate the center spline of the CAS that connects to the Cam pulley, you should hear your injectors clicking away, if you cant or you hear missing clicks on rotation then the CAS needs replacing, if you hear unified clicking of the injectors the likely hood your CAS is working is a better one than if you don't. replace the CAS and reset the timing (15BTDC @ normal running engine temp) thats the best way to start with rough running, also check your MAF connection and condition of Air filter if its been sat a while.

Thinking of running a pub
its not that bad, the biggest problem is the no smoking ban, regardless of what the gov would have you believe it has effected pubs a hell of a lot, location is also a major factor, small pubs in villages can be a bit tough to run, pubs in towns centres are prim real estate, where as pubs on the out skirts tend to have less customers. the problems are this - village pub, tend to have regular slow business, slow during the day, getting busier at night and weekends, but pretty much the same customer base. - Town centre pub, busy during the week, majorly busy during the weekend (depending what you have in there to draw the punters in IE DJ's live bands ect) but as a new land lord you need to get acquainted with the people who where previously banned. expect to hire door staff at the weekend to protect your business should people get a bit rowdy with each other - Estate pub, quiet pretty much half the time, can be hassle with local trouble depending. pretty much the same as country pub - Town out skirts, pretty much dependant on people just "popping" in, few local regulars, again mainly dependant on what you have on offer. A town centre pub is the way to go, get a good deal of stuff going, Wednesday, midweek football, pub quiz with live music is always a good one, Thursdays 70's 80's and 90's night, Friday get a live DJ in with up to date music, Saturday will be Sports / football during the day live DJ at night, Sunday Sunday roast, live band. also make sure you have a kitchen and can offer decent pub grub through out lunchtime and into early evening, you will draw a lot of business people in that way on lunch break. make sure you get your entertainment licence so you can book live bands in and get a big screen for football and such, you need to draw the punters in, be smiling and happy and spend time to talk to those sitting at the bar, if you have a regular in who drinks one pint before he leaves every day after he finishes work, spend 10mins to talk to him at the bar, asking him how his day was and that, guarantee he will drink more than that one pint and feel like someone is there for him when he finishes work. Running a pub isn't about selling beer, its about being a people person.

Wheel refurb... 2nd set
agreed, going to be getting a Wide band AFR to fit, i have 2 strange wires sitting doorment ive found, one down by the battery and the other on the opposite side of the car, both have the same small 4 pin connector on, but in different colours, both go down near the turbo to some where? need to figure out where yet and what they are for before i remove them, might be part of the traction control system. anyway is that the final colour of the wheels? always had a soft spot for gunmetal gray wheels with polished lip
