puddles of water under the back seat
Do you have leaks any where else, condensation build up might be the cause, im having a horrendous time at the moment with a leak from my drivers side front targa, its now filling my A Pillar gauges up lol, but last night it took me almost 45 mins before i could move the car due to the amount of condensation on the inside of the windscreen, no doubt you are getting condensation build up inside the car, with the cold metal of the floor pan under the rear seats, and hot air in the cabin once driving its pooling under the seats.

new door rubbers, still leaking
That might work for your rear end mate , but not on my targa rubbers, if it was that easy id of done it by now, unless i use 2inch thick chunk its not going bridge the gap in my targa rubbers between the targa and the A pillar.

Dump Valves and Fitting Kits
You need duel piston dump valves, due to the nature of the zed, it has a MAF so meters air, dump to atmos if set up correctly shouldn't effect your idle, it will be if you are pushing it hard and dumping loads, you may cut out when you put your foot on the clutch to stop, nothing a quick key turn wont sort out though, or if you are moving, just life the clutch pedal. Oh and i have a set for sale, but you would need blanking plugs, they go where the recircs go.

Help from automatic owners
the gear release (little red bar button type thing on the gear selector) is a Jap spec only device, there is also a extra bit on the ignition barrel to stop you removing the key unless its in the park position on the gear selector, they most likely have destroyed that switch on the ignition barrel, there is no link as far as im am aware on the zed that relates the door open to the function of the gears.

Anyone got a telescope?
Daz those pictures are awesome, and yes i know what you mean about looking through the eyepiece in awe, although they are not Hubble grade images, its the feeling you get that you are actually seeing it your self rather than looking at a picture in a book, it brings it home just how small we are in the scheme of things. The app i use is called Skywalk on the ipad. its awesome as it gives you the times of what planets rise, altitude and also you can do a live view where you hold the pad up and using the location services it shows you what your looking at. This is tonight's viewing times of what rises

Anyone got a telescope?
Awesome, what scope have you got? Mine is just a 4.5inch Newtonian, not very powerful, those last two images are captured on the canon 300D, on a tripod, manual focus, first photo is 15second exposure, tungsten light setting, F4.5, ISO400 using a remote shutter release. The second photo of Orion is still the 300D on tripod, tungsten light setting, F4.5, 20second exposure ISO200. If you are planning on a telescope, start off with a good pair of binoculars, 10x50 will do, get ya self a star map or even better a planisphere and learn where everything is, makes it so much better when you get a telescope if you know where to point it. IF you are really keen on getting a telescope, ideally (though i was restricted with space) you want a minimum 8inch Newtonian / dobsonian, or a Refractor with a minimum of 80mm diameter objective lens. they all have their plus and minuses so best to look around and do a lot or research before you part with cash as they can be expensive and the last thing you want is paying top money for a pile of crap scope, refractors are a good starting point, with a wide field of vision, easy to set up and use Newtonian are good local and deep sky observational scopes but can be tricky to set up due to needing to be culminated (mirrors aligned properly for best and clearest view) Dobsonians are basically Newtonian telescopes, but tend to have larger mirrors, and longer focal length, base is also usually the pivot point, they tend to be heavier and more suited to a fixed location. Maksutov-Cassegrains Offer the ease of use of a refractor with elements of Newtonian as they have mirrors in side a closed unit. With any telescope though, its all about the light gathering capabilities, the larger the mirror / objective lens the better / clearer its going to be, sharpness comes down to how good the optics are. Cant wait to move though, really want to get my self a dobsonian. The only other thing is, make sure you get a sturdy tripod that can support the weight of the scope its self and any other accessories you plan on using. id also recommend getting a equatorial mount (as shown in the images above), rather than a azimuth, that way once its set up correctly and aligned to Polaris (north star) you can track objects in the viewing lens for a lot longer with only one control.

over fueling bad running
This points to a wet MAF, have you got a nose panel with vents in it? also take the Air Filter and MAF off the car, inspect the filter to see if its wet / starting to decay, you need to clean the element inside (some will say how or search) the maf and make sure its dry, also just remember just because its only 18months old, doesnt mean it wont fail sooner, might just be one of those things, but while its off, inspect the MAF connectors / cable connector, get some contact cleaner on there and clean with a nail file. If you need a second hand known working maf, i have one for sale matey.

Immobiliser Help Please
The only legitimate way that i can tell you about on the open forum, would be to get a new fob for your alarm, do a google search someone (a reputable company not a ebay seller lol) will have the item in question for sale, if you have no idea what make your alarm is, you need to find the control box, it should have the manufactures name on it. the only other thing, most have a valet code, but you need to know the code for that to work lol

21 year old female..............
? in a country of 62.6million people http://www.google.co.uk/publicdata/explore?ds=d5bncppjof8f9_&met_y=sp_pop_totl&idim=country:GBR&dl=en&hl=en&q=uk+population with only 1.57million claiming (in september) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10604117 i think this girl actually needs to do some research first, 1.5million people isnt going to be the difference between who gets in power or not. with 17% of the working population of britian claiming working tax credits / child benifit. i think people are actually deluded to think that the problem with the benifits system lays solely with those out of work. We are all being forced into a social welfare system, this is due to the banks / governement squeesing everyone to get the GDP debt down. this has nothing to do with those on benifits. All well and good, but people are already being forced into food hand outs due to the state of the country, this has nothing to do with those on benefits, these are hard working people forced in to poverty due to how this country has gone to shit. Not everyone woman can have a birth control implant, my Mrs cant, as it effects her menstrual cycle, had she done research into this, she would know that not everyone can have certain birth control measures, also having drugs tests costs money, who will fund this money? it cost me £600 to have a drugs / alcohol test for a court case, as much as she thinks this is a clear cut solution, this would most likely cost too much to enforce in the processes. so lets see this shall we? 1.57million X £600 = £942,000,000 so almost a billion to make sure no one is on drugs / alcohol? not sure that makes sense but there you go. First ive lived in a military barracks, although you maintain the property to some degree, its actually still the army's responsibility to maintain the house and ground as they are effectively your landlord, also private and housing association houses already ask you to maintain a certain level of repair, and council will only repair damage not caused by the tenant. so again lack of research suggests she is only talking to try and win votes. As for "if you want a plasma TV / Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place" - what if you brought these items while working then found your self made redundant? does that mean you should lose these items just because you are now unemployed? you have worked hard to own them in the first place. this is not an acceptable or enforceable course of action, i cant think of one person on this forum who would gladly accept that they have to give up something they worked hard for because they are now out of a job. i find this girl is actually treading on dangerous ground in the form of starting a revolt rather than thinking clearly about how to solve the issues. and she is showing her lack of maturity. Also, has she seen the state of the housing market? has she seen just how hard it is for first time buyers to get a foot hold, or even get a loan from the banks? the banks have clamped down since the meltdown and rightly so, but they have made it almost impossible to buy your own house as a first time buyer, made even harder when self employed with an irregular income. I agree with the first one, work for your money, but there has to be guide lines, you still need to be able to search for work, if you are doing community jobs how would it work if you also wanted to find a real job? The other problem comes from, if you are then working, then you are subjected to the national minimum wage law, you cant have it both ways, you are also then taking paid work away from those who want to get a job, for a lower basic level payment. there has to be some give and take on that one, also due to, todays working climate, you have 50 people going for 1 job, we need to create jobs first, Employers are now at a stage where they have so much choice available to them, not everyone gets employed even though they are actively seeking work. Also, as above, would you really want someone selling your 22" rims and low profile tyres if you acquire these while working, but have suddenly found your self jobless? Actually demeaning and lowered self esteem comes from those who have no realisation about what people face on a day to day basis when unemployed, low self esteem is created when you apply for work and do not get the job, its also gained by those in work looking down on those who find them selves Suddenly unemployed and made to feel like a criminal, even if they are actively seeking work, but are finding it hard to get employed. Actually the current system would work fine, IF those in employment didn't have to use working tax credits / child support to bolster their income, its now at the stage where those working are claiming more benefits than those not working (1.57million vs 3.3million middle class *3.3million middle class, this does not take into account that there are actually more in work claiming, there are also those on the breadline or those who are on the higher end of the wage scale who are still allowed to claim working tax credits / child support) working should not give you the right to claim, because if the world was perfect, we should not need to, but due to the state of affairs the banks and government have left us in, everyone is now claiming. Unfortunately with programs like Jeremy kyle, we are building a bad image of those who are out of work, not everyone is a scrounger on benefits. there are those who play the system, i understand that and id be a bit naive to think other wise, but there are genuine people out there looking for work, and this system would punish those and not the ones who actually deserve it. This wouldn't make a difference even if it came into effect, id say those who are cheating the system, are hardly the type to stand in line and vote, and 1.57million unemployed will not make a massive difference in a vote if EVERYONE voted. also non votes as i understand it (could be wrong though), even by those who are employed end up being defaulted towards the government that is already in power, so you would complicate the voting system as it then has to remove names of those on benifits?, also you may only be on benifits for a 2 week period, does that mean you have to lose your vote just because you were off work for those 2 week during voting? how would you go about that? The problem is, her ideas actually create more of a problem than solving them. I agree the system needs changing, its not fair that you can get more money off work than you can on, but i strongly feel this girl actually needs to go live in conditions on the bread line to find out what it is actually like. Ive been out of work before, it was a pain in the arse, im not sure how these people get away with cheating the system to get loads out of it, or how they even manage to stay on the dole that long? but i sure as hell couldnt do it, but the biggest issues i faced when i was looking for work, was the total lack of help from the job centre to get me some training to make me more employable. The other biggest problem with is how to make a fairer system so British people stand a better chance at securing jobs from foreign immigrants. there is a company on a local industrial estate near me, 85% of the work force is non British, almost all of the job agencies in my local town cater more for immigrants than British workers too. We need to reform our own policies on who gets the right to work in the UK first, before we start asking why so many are signing on. Sorry, having been unemployed before and struggling to find work, (went for 37 interviews in a 2 week period and didn't get a single job) and being on that end of the spectrum and struggling to make ends meet, i do not support this girls ideas. there are other means to get people back into work, and being like that is not it. she would not get my vote. Mr Cameron and co, like to shout about how we are all in this together, yet do you see them in power taking cuts to their wages? or loosing their second homes? or how about the benefits they have? what about the all the expenses they claim from the working? if we are truly in this together, then surely they should lead by example?

Advice required
When my car was rear ended and wrote the car off, i bought it back, may as well, a VIC check isnt that bad, just means the car has to be checked for road worthyness and that any damage is repaired correctly and to a high standard. Personally if that was me, id get her back, you will have your check plus the amount of whats on the car in parts, as mark has said, the engine should be ok and i woudnt discount the eletrics off just yet, get it back give it a damn good dry out, check it over at key electrical points, i would bet she starts and runs. As its not salt water there will be less corrosion, and more oxidisation, but this can be combated with the correct tools / sprays. As i said, i have a full shell here with the main harnesses all nice and dry if you need to replace anything, plus ECU's as well.
