occasionally lose a cylinder
Check the spark plug matey, swap it for a good one (not out of the other cylinders just in case your getting oil on it) Also check for a spark on the plug, take the coil pack out, and plug, put the plug back in the coil pack, place the spark plug threads on the plenum so it earths, and then get someone else to crank the engine and check for a spark across the gap.

Any one got this bonnet fitted?
If your on about that side vented bonnet on the 350z, i agree, id love one like that, but not sure what to search for or if it would even be possible on a 300zx due to rain issues and the vents, unless they channel any water that gets into the vents down to the front of the bonnet and away from electrics.

Any one got this bonnet fitted?
aah sweet, thanks for that stellaz, Someone posted a picture of this bonnet, thought they might have done one for the 300zx, this one is on a 350z in the same style as i wouldnt mind achiving. so here is the bonnet first. this is similer to the look im thinking about (but on a 300zx and less carbon fiber)

Any one got this bonnet fitted?

Any one got this bonnet fitted?
biggest problem is, all pictures ive seen of it on the cars, it doesnt show up too well to gauge if it actually looks good or not lol

Any one got this bonnet fitted?
http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=297&category_id=80&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7 Thinking of trying it in black on my motor. IF (and a big one at that) i do go down that route, it will be black with black roof bars, followed on with my black 99spec rear spoiler. But will keep my blue bonnet just incase i hate it lol Just want to know if anyone or you know of anyone on here with the bonnet already fitted so i can have a look, preferably already painted, as cant quite get a feel for it with the zcenter pictures.

na under plenum water tubes etc
im just going to rip it all out to be honest using Robo's guides, the diagrams in the FAQ area and gut instinct, if it goes together and works, good, if it fails to start then ill just have to chase things until it does start. EGR is already removed, already deleted the pipe work under the plenum, going to start on the solenoids and extra tubing in the engine bay in a min, i know there is a tube i need to leave in place for the Carbon canister to vent down in the foot well, but i wont be able to remove the system as i cant take my front bumper off with out removing both wings along with it.

na under plenum water tubes etc
what mods? ive already removed all my pipe work from under the plenum, was going to get my angle grinder on certain parts to remove the rest of the bits that do not need to be there, like the channel ways under the throttle bodys with the pipes attached and the pipe joins half way down the underside on the left and right of the plenum. as far as i was aware and according to all readups ive read so far, there isnt any mentions of "mods", it just says to delete and do this and that with whats left over.

missing having a z
Im feeling it now mate, car is currently off the road and its actually making me get anxiety attacks, as i want to get it done and on the road so bad lol Just gotta play the waiting game at the moment though, i want to get as much done to the new engine while its out as humanly and more importantly - financially viable for me, before it goes in the car.

Rip-off insurance !!!
first off, with no claims bonus, its 2 years, never heard it being 1 year and you lose it, its always been 2 years as long as you can provide proof that your entitled too it. Second, ring lynbrook, ive recently changed my car details over from my last zed to the blue one and it only went up by £36 due to extra modifications being listed. i now pay £310 for the year fully comp on a UK spec TT. Anyway try Lynbrook - classic car, limited mileage, agreed value insurance, no need for NCB, age restrictions do apply as do the need for the car to be garaged. carol nash - classic bike insurance, but also do classic car, you can build NCB with them as well, limited mileage, you do need a second car though to get it insured using the classic policy. age restriction may apply (though cant be too sure on that) But you have to remember as well, recently there has been an increase in insurance premiums due to the current climate (well thats what they like to throw about as an excuse to milk more cash from people anyway)

Steering goes stiff/tight through rotation
The brakes are quite a distance inside the bonnet away from the power steering, first port of call would be the power steering reservoir to be perfectly honest. Red, on these cars its perfectly normal to have a problem develop at the same time as testing something else. (i got a water pump leak stright after fixing a power steering pipe and the two systems are not linked to each other, work that out) Bill, is your car a TT or a N/A as the systems differ due to the Hicas, if its a TT have you had a Hicas lock out kit added? could be you have jolted something with hard braking, Squeaking brakes could be a sign of low pads, some pads have a squeal piece in place to let you know to change the pads. If you have TT does the hicas light, light up on the dash, if it does then you have low fluid level in your power steering pot. with heavy breaking you might of forced the fluid out some where, or you might even have a leak hence low fluid = lumpy turning. if it gets too low, your pump will make a strange noise as its self lubricating. But yeah, my first port of call would be the fluid level in the Powersteering pot.

polishing help
i got one of them with my polishing kit, i think groover was on about how to attach one to a grinder, wouldnt mind using that instead as it not only spins a hell of a lot faster than my drill does, but also its mains opperated rather than battery

polishing help
Well ive got 2 angle grinders, do they make pads good enough to polish with for them? i know its large surface area only with a angle grinder, but would be good for buffing up my plenum ready for install, groover you got any good links to angle grinder polishing kits. really should invest in a dremel lol

polishing help
tried autosol matey, got mobs but no drill at the min to attach them too, though im hoping my soldering fix on the charger earlier has hopefully sorted that out, drill is currently sat on charge and although its speeded up when you pull the trigger (instead of doing the low battery slow down) im not too sure its charging yet, so giving it another hour and then going to see lol

polishing help
ok, so im trying to polish a set of water pipes that i took of my red zed, ive got all the blemishes off them and the dirt and they do look nice and shiny, yet they lack that mirror finish, im down to 1200grit wet dry sand paper, do i need to go higher grade? like 1800 or 2000grit or something? its shiny but dull if that makes sense? there is no mirror finish. Just wondering how people get there stuff so it gleams with a surface to comb your hair on.
