  1. yeah no worries, ill get started with out you lol, just give us a ring if you get lost, as most GPS's put you on the wrong road for some reason.
  2. have you tried putting a cable tie around it on the inside, IE, stick the gaiter on, put the gearnob on, invert the gaiter so its cover the nob, and then cable tying from inside, then flow your hood back over, and attached the gaiter to the plastic surround, refit center console and job done.
  3. top man indeed :) right, ive got my polished water pipes off, gave them a repolish, got the cam covers off as well, got the torque converter and drive plate off as well as bolts, but had to call it a day after that, so a lot to do tomorrow, as I've now gotta get ready for DJing tonight, when i get back will sort the turbos out that are going on the new engine, ready for tomorrow, steams do you know what time your going to be at mine? and more importantly do you need me address lol
  4. Do you know something no one else does? all the reports ive read so far havent even mentioned speed as a factor for his F1 crash? could be something else.
  5. or if the other side is still in place, open the boot till you can get the strut back in position and then do it up slightly to the point you can then close the boot, then get back inside and continue to do it up, just remember what way to tighten it or it will fly out again lol
  6. Nope, he hasnt turned up yet, dunno where hes got too lol
  7. In today's heat, plus no extention bars for the top bolts plus one fecking annoying engine mount bolt, only 7 hours, lots of breaks to speak to people, couple of ciggy breaks, a few text messages and a half a tanker of tea and energy drinks lol Not exactly the record time of 1 hour and 45 mins we took to do the last engine and gear box out lol
  8. lol your not the only one bud, and ive already got 2 kids, doesnt stop me window shopping though
  9. Lol I bet, shame it's not a couple of bolts holding the front of the car to. The cabin, then pull the front away and get the engine out lol
  10. Yeah tell me about it, must be the only wide arch kit I actually love (not like)
  11. The kit never came with a front bumper matey, they wanted people to individualise the kit to there own style by getting there own front for it, zero no one in the Uk supply that kit as I looked into it, it is how ever still avalible from japan but still the best part of 4k before the fitting and respray
  12. Not sure that's going to happen, just remembered that the hoist is rated at 1 ton so on full extention would be exceeding it's load with the gearbox on as well, gotta remember I can't remove my front bumper
  13. congratulations matey, your going to love being a dad :D
  14. lazy ass? ive got kids mate, they get me up at 6:30 each day, cos if i dont get up when they do, i get woken anyway due to being bounced on, drawn on, draws emptied of all the clean clothes. hell this morning, i awoke to find my daughter at 3 and a half years old, changing my little boys ass, with her telling him to sit still so she could put the nappy on, i was well proud, she had even put the dirty nappy in a nappy bag and stuck it in the bin lol quality :)
  15. its a car park? shit, thought some ******* has stole me 4 poster  biggest problem i had was clearance from the oil pan to the body work of the car, had to crush my hand to stop putting a scratch in the wing paint work, while the mrs and her friend pulled the engine out lol hand is hurting, but the cars ok, no scratches lol
  16. aww mate that would be so help full :D your more than welcome, i do have to leave though at 5:30 as im DJing a 21st for someone, so get over early lol was great fun again Richard, couldn't find my extensions for the top bolts for the gearbox, so had to lower the rear of the gearbox while it was still attached to the engine to pull the engine back, and then squeeze my hand up with my ratchet and undo the bolts half a mm at a time, but got there eventually :)
  17. Well thanks to Steams, top bloke i must say. forgot how high the car would raise on standard height suspension, so had to pop the engine back in and adjust the load leveler, plus get the hoist lifting on all chains, these pictures were taken before id done that, the last well being taken after. Next up, fit the new turbos, change me fancy stuff over, and get the new engine back in. how hard is it to drop the front sub frame get the steering UJ out the way and get the gearbox and engine in in one go? as not too keen on trying to get a gearbox to mate with the engine from under the car with not much room, when on my own? photos taken using my phone, as didnt trust me camera out there while getting oil everywhere. the wet patch in the engine bay is water from the front water pipes. The start the work area lol The fit the lift the end  sweet. next up, fit everything back in and get the welding sorted out :D
  18. thats the same f1 he crashed last time, carbon fiber car, plus bonding, = repair panels, easy to change when you have the correct tools, that will be fixed and mclaren will have that back on the road for him.
  19. Murmur, I'm not going to argue with you, I've used normal clear silicon for years, I usedto work in the tire and exhaust trade, it doesn't take much for the exhaust paste to crumble and start leaving holes, have seen pleanty of people come in from other garages needing the exhaust sorting out where it's been blowing from the joins due to exhaust paste, now if you want to be anal about things you can go buy an "official" product that costs more, or you can get a silicone sealant rated for 250 degrees and do the same job that works just as good
  20. thats why half the garages across the country use silicon sealant now, exhaust paste drys out flakes and leave you with a blowing exhaust (well can do) Silicon sealant drys out fast, leaves a good seal and cleans up better when you take the exhaust off.
  21. You will only need to replace the gaskets if they have perished, but you can use some silicon sealant to help seal it if your that worried, thats it.
  22. well you could always send them to me, ill test fit them on mine and let you know if they are worth putting on yours
  23. ive got 19's on mine and they fill the arches lovely, 17s look too small on a zed, the archers are begging for bigger, 18s are nice with the correct amount of lowering and the rest, but 19's i find look perfect for the size of arch the LWB zed has.
