there's never been a problem with willingness from the club funds bud, it boils down to NEO (me) and the REO's to apply for funding for what ever event it is. Also as seen many a time, what one person things is good for the club, another might not. so ill stick the ideas up to the committee about certain aspects like banners and what not and see what gets the go ahead. PS yowser, i know what he was getting at with the van thing, i just put a slight twist on it for comical purposes :) As for IanL offering his van, had i noticed he mentioned that i most likely would of taken him up on his offer, there is always a PM system ;)

im pretty sure you already have a section for that if your a REO, and only the REO's and MOD's / Committee can access it.

Thread Closed!!!! lol!! Club suggestions??
that might be the case with you, but we have a lot of people who would rather go to a few big events for the year rather than meeting down a pub carpark in one specific area. A few big events draws more of the club together, we get to see a lot more of the modified / classic's and also you can get to go down the strip at Santa pod during some of their events, it will also be a chance to start bringing our community back together that seems to be a bit fragile at the moment, im not into forum politics between clubs or what ever, but i think its about time 300zx.co.uk started going to some of the more popular large meets other than just JAE. if you want local meets please see your local area representative about getting some local meets going, but what seems to be the case, is they organize these and only a few people turn up, there are a lot of varying factors as well, not only do they have nothing to put up (though would depend entirely on location and what type of meet it is) but a lot of people just don't want to take the time to go and do things like that. with the big meets more people are willing to show up for a weekend as it makes it more worth while than just a day / evening meeting fellow zedders that people can do anyway though out the year if they turned up for the local meets there reps put out.

As far as im aware the REO's can apply for club funding for things, and they have been able to do this for quite some time. Ill look into that as it sounds like a very interesting idea REO's at the moment arrange meets, nothing wrong with someone arranging one of the events, im going to put it to the committee about getting regional banners and small BBQ's though nothing stopping someone using there's if they have one not sure someones going to volunteer a free van mate lol

Very lumpy idle
id get the plenum air leak sorted out first as it could be the gasket giving way, this would cause a noticable rough idle

some good ideas there Andy, before the year is out ill have a definitive plan for next year with other car meets, i like the idea of regional club banners for REO's and the BBQ where people bring there own food or they could all chip in and get something for everyone.

biggest problem with any regional meets is attendance, you can only do so much, but if the people don't turn up whats there to do. Following on from someone saying that a few people offered to be REOs, i sent PM's to a select few and got no reply back about it, im not going to stick someone in the position if they are unwilling to do anything, Mr Bean already got told why he got removed from his position, which was before my time as NEO, but mainly due to not organizing anything. Ive already said in a different post http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=150297 once i get JAE out of the way, ill be organising OTHER national events, 1 per year i feel just isn't enough, it also helps that im central to a lot of the events with Santa pod just 6 miles from me, JAE 7 miles from me, then you have silver stone, but i also want to do some of the modified lives. £25,000 in the club kitty since its inception to be honest isn't all that much in this day and age, although i didn't go over the top with things this year for JAE as im new to the roll, it still cost in the region of £1,000 for equipment hire / van hire / food / tea coffee fuel and other things, that was from my side of things, then you can add the plot funds ontop of that. 6 big meets that come to the same amount per year and your soon going to see the funds come down rapidly and if its taken over 10 years to put 25k in there and we use the funds at £1.5k per meet, say we have just 3 big meets that require almost the same set up as JAE, your going to be looking at £4.5k out of that amount in just one year. I'm no carol vorderman but even i can see that its not going to be long before everyone is moaning again when the club has no funds. But then im not daft enough to think that an event is going to cost nothing to do. the only thing id like to get with club funds would be a club van, this would negate van hire which is a sizable amount of money for a weekend. but then whose name do we have it in, insurance blah blah you get the idea. Now with this post, im leaving it open, this is for ideas but if it starts going into a club slagging match or anything like that it will be cleaned up first, and if it carries on then it will be locked.

Yet more questions!
UK cars have dummy side light housing and have the side lights and indicators in place where the front fogs would be if it was a jap spec, so in answer to your question, no the outermost light housing on a UK do not light up. I to not only got but still get exhaust smell in the cabin, not sure why though considering my exhausts stick out further from my rear bumper than the last ones did, seems to be a strange inherent problem of the 300 unless someone has some information im not privy too with regards to exhaust smell in the cabin.

hmmm what could it be
i put coolant in before JAE matey, wasn't going to risk driving it that far with out it. the water pipes are ever so slightly larger, i had no trouble getting the replacement water pipes on but there was slight resistance if that made sense lol But yeah, will give it a flush
-
hmmm what could it be
just to clear a few things was running fine to start with, parked it up after just a nip to the garage and it was running fine when i turned the engine off, started the next day with a strange misfire and not sure what cylinder its on, might be a wet maf with all the rain we have had recently, but its only on idle im getting it, it drives fine and isnt loosing a cylinder. On idle its pu pu mmmmmm pu mmmmmpu pu pummmmmmm no codes on ODB scantech nissan, and the misfire doesnt effect normal driving, which i would of thought a wet maf would of.
-
hmmm what could it be
Yep that's the stuff though not that bad lol Need to change the water pump at some stage anyway as it's a bit rattaly and only a matter of time before it fails, but want to get me car idling nicely with out sounding like it's about to cut out every now and then

hmmm what could it be
Be nice for serious comments, but yeah was kinda wondering who was going to say the fuse first lol

hmmm what could it be
zeds been running fine for almost a week now, but the other morning i went out and started her up and she has developed a rather noticeable misfire, like shes hunting on tick over, which is bloody annoying. Just to let everyone know, its a new wiring loom on the zed. day before id taken her down to the garage to get some milk, got home and it was running fine, the next day it was hunting. also gave it a few beans the other day while joining the dual carriageway as wanted to see what she could do, the auto box seemed to take ages to change gear (think it might of done it when it reached the rev limiter) i had a double pop like back fire, and then crap loads of smoke that then cleared, was a bit worrying to be honest as originally i thought id knackered a turbo as it seemed to smoke for a good 300 meters before it cleared up, but hasn't done it since. then yesterday, my water bypass pipe that id said i thought i had an air leak in (drivers side tubby) decided to burst just after pulling up, so had to temp fix it and put about 2 liters back in the car to limp home, got back home and got a lift down to my local car maintenance shop to get some more water hose, changed it over, and its still sounding like i have a air leak in the turbo by pass piping, which is now making me wonder if this new hose is also going to eventually burst as well. when filling it back up with water i seemed to have collected like a rusty clay type residue on my water filler cap on the rad. so bloody annoying lumpy misfire smoke after double pop when on boost. water by pass gurgling once turned off, like trapped air in the pipe Water temp still showing around the 83 degree mark and consults free edition is saying its around 84 to 85 degrees. misfire started before the double pop.

JAE improvement thread
Right im going to close this thread, Having gone over the deleted bits, seems that it got derailed quite a bit. First id like to address a few points raised. Jasons zed in the marquee. As said before that people cant seem to get in there head, Jason had his zed in the marquee from 6pm on the friday to 1pm the next day, it did not have preferential treatment, Artztogos car was in there a lot longer than that getting its rear lights sorted out, id also like to point out, that Jason was well aware of the possibility of fumes and as such didn't have it running that long, mainly to bring it in, take it out and a small 10mins trying to get his stereo working. Access wasn't a problem there was a significant gap big enough to get not only my sons push chair through but also a wheel chair. Jason has been bring his zed to JAE and parking with us for a long time, im doing the organizing and i liked offering him the marquee again this year to prep his car for the show and shine. im not going to change that. the only thing im going to improve upon next year is seeing if we can get double entrance so wheel chair access to the marquee isn't a problem, that is the biggest concern i can see from that and im not changing my mind on it. If Jason wishes to bring his own gazebo to put it in thats up to him, if he wishes to purchase a gazebo and wants me to bring it with me with the club stuff, hes more than welcome too. no one last year had a problem with it being in the marquee and just because someone did this year, its not changing anything. there is no preferential treatment, its called a "nice gesture" from me. Next up, Cheap food. The food was not cheap, only one person i see so far has complained about the food quality, considering the burgers were all gone by the Sunday, if its good enough for people to eat all the burgers with only one complaint about quality, then that speaks for its self to be quite honest, the biggest concern about food was variety The BBQ was available for anyone who wanted to cook there own food on, the 300zx.co.uk club didn't state that we would be feeding you all over the weekend, it said there would be a BBQ available for subscribed members. the fact that non subscribed members also got fed, and a few people who are nothing to do with our club, just shows that we did cater for everyone. the main topics of food improvement were variety as already stated, this has also been taken into account and will be addressed next year. Music. I had my car stereo running. admittedly my choice of music isn't to everyone's tastes, but we had plenty of sound systems available, not once did i get asked if someone could put a different CD / MP3, or even ask if i could wire up their phone to give a more varied style of sounds. my system can handle anything thrown at it as its a PC. But again, I've listened to whats been said and im taking it on board for next year. Organization. Having read the deleted posts, seems that some people liked to point to the fact it wasn't very well organised, id like to address this issue right now. i find comments like that to be rather ungrateful, i do not get paid for the organization, plus this was the first time Ive organised JAE for the club i think i did fecking well considering everything Ive had to deal with as well, when people turned up, the chairs were laid out, the tables were also, food was available, coffee and tea was available and water was available, the only help i had was from groover / ck300z and jaikai and only then it was AT JAE not before. The only thing i can see that didn't go according to plan was the awards, i spent a lot of my time making sure food was available, that we had gas for the BBQ, and that people were generally being made welcome when they arrived, on the odd occasion where i didn't meet the people turning up, it was because i was off to get more Genny fuel / food / tescos run for people, Tables and chairs are supplied by JAE, so im sorry if you didn't have a comfy leather sofa to sit on, but hay its camping, not a 5 star hotel. Club funds, this has been covered many times over, and this thread was not for it end off. Closing note. Us mods do this out of our own backs, we don't get paid, we are here to make sure people stick to the club rules, sometimes people cross them and we need to take action, for some this seems like a direct personal attack when its not, its also no one else's business about why people get banned when its to do with the person getting banned and the people banning, we do not have to give explanations especially on events that happened in the past before most of us became mods. As for the "loads of people who are not sure to comment" *****cks we are actually a bit more relaxed about a lot of things. we don't have a "ban" culture going on, as to be honest if we did, we would just ban when we liked. we give people the chance to see that they could end up with a ban, but if they continue to push the boundaries then fine, we will issue it. if there is something you don't like, then go through the proper channels, this can include PM'ing a member of the committee, to Emailing if you do no have that function, and it will be looked into, if it can be changed it will, at no time do we ban for the hell of it, banning is seen as a last resort to keep the status quo of the forum. I put this thread up to generate a nice base from what I could look at to see what I could do for our members next year, not to start whinging and moaning about another members zed being parked in a bloody marquee for less than a day. this year for me was a good time to see where i could improve things for next year. as i said it was my first time organizing this for our members, so cut me some slack, would of thought we would of been grown up enough to understand that considering, hell apart form a small 2 hours where i took my Mrs and my son to go see the other cars, i spent the rest running around for everyone making sure everyone was at least feeling welcome, food was available and we had petrol for the genny, and yes i paid for my own ticket and my misses so i could make you lot feel welcome. Regards. Vodkashots. EDIT, would just like to add, i wanted to see how i would do at organizing this for us, next year im hoping to get us into more shows, but thats only going to work if we have people willing to show up. would also like to thank everyone i meet at JAE for there valuable input, as i said its all being taken into account so i can improve things for next year.

Low fuel light
unless you have after market EL dials, EL dials tend to cover the fuel light, but its not very pretty when it comes on and to be honest considering how far down the needle is when it does eventually light, i find it best to keep it extinguished lol

Get your goat up!!!
People who force you to stop when its your right of way the lorry that has to over take the other lorry, but can only do 1mph faster than the one its over taking on a duel lane carriageway Lorry drivers just pulling out on you forcing you to brake heavy People using there phones while driving ass hats who do not say thanks when you let them come by even though you have right of way women complaining when i pull into a child bay in my zed with my kids in the back, sorry love but just because i have a 300, doesnt mean i dont have kids in the bloody back of it. Business men who park in child bays but do not have kids in the back, let alone a child seat, i find it helpful to remind them that they seem to of forgotten the children. people with no manners people using your car as a door stop when they open there car door

My favourite quote of JAE 2011
i think i know what Jason farrows was, my mrs standing next to his car at night when he had all the lights on, she turned to Jason and asked "wheres your car then?" and actually ment it, bless her think she was tired by that point. Mine has to be "its your fuse gone, change it and we will see"

JAE improvement thread
To start with would just like to put a few things straight. The beast gets the marquee as it has for the past god knows how long, its not being singled out as better than anyone else's, its parked there as Jason is kind enough to represent the club with his 300zx show car so we give him access to a place to keep the elements off it before it goes in for the shows, and also so he gets a chance to polish it up with out rain or wind or bird poop. im sorry but im not changing that aspect, if another zed was to enter for show purposes then it would be looked at again. but as no one else puts there zed through that much for shows then i cant see why it should change, its won car of the show 3 years in a row, its helped put the 300zx on the map for modified cars and its the least we can do. gaming. Im leaning more towards a wii rather than xbox or ps3, mainly due to the Wii's far superior team play capabilities. IE the sports games. PS3 and xbox360 are orientated more for online play rather than party modes (im not saying they don't have party type games, im saying the wii has the better selection) The marquee is laid out according to jae so unfortunately couldn't be changed, we could of had the tents up by the road, but then we would of been woken every time a car with a loud exhaust went past, also not really good for those of us who had children there. Tent layout was also restricted to where the marquee was placed, but to be honest i didn't see a problem with it. yes we had a marquee between us, but the tents are there for sleeping, the marquee for sitting around having a chat. The marquee being open at both ends, again as this is set up by JAE, im not even sure we could of opened one of the other ends. by the looks of it, it didn't, me and groover did go around it to see if we could attach the club flags to it, but only one end opened from what we could tell. Exhaust fumes, is quite and easy one, just need a few tumble dryer pipes or something like that to go over the beasts exhaust and vent them out side the marque, or just only start it up to either enter or exit with it. I like the idea of a bar, and this could of been arranged as we had plenty of table space DJ, ive seen a lot of comments regarding "raves" and such, my friend caters for all sorts from kids to posh weddings, and does take requests. a laptop might be good, but a DJ with lazers and lights can be a hole lot better even if it is just for one night, it brings us something unique to our stand and would be available for other car clubs if they want to join us, it also doesnt have to be that loud you cant hear each other speak, either way everyone seems to have such varied music tastes, i don't think its going to matter if its a DJ or a laptop, there is always going to be music played that someone doesnt like, but the bonus of the DJ is the equipment he can add, the lighting. The pedobear conversion, i can not comment on as i was in bed asleep by that point, but had i been awake i most likely would of said something if i found it bordering on the offencive, im all for a laugh, but some subjects should be handled with a little bit of caution, but then you would of had to of heard the whole thing before jumping to conclusions as half conversations can be taken out of context. BBQ, the burgers went down well, sausages not so well, so will get some more burgers next year, less sausages and something else to also throw on the BBQ to get more of a variety, but please be aware the BBQ is there not to feed people all weekend, but as a club bonus for subscribed members, members are advised to also bring other food for them selves. Parking arrangements, it was nice to be different from the rest of the stands at JAE with their car park approach, the horse shoe set up worked very well this year, and gave those who were coming into the event from other carclubs a nice aesthetically pleasing look at the 300zx's, we had a grid system last year that was ok, but you couldn't really see the cars at the back of the grid, we also had all the tents in one location last year and to be honest i didnt see a difference to how people went about doing things from last year to this year just because the tents were laid out together instead of one lot one side, one lot the other side like this year. Areas im looking for ideas in improvements are Entertainment, though we have covered a lot of this, would be good to see about other things rather than just gaming on a xbox / 360 / wii as this does limit the amount of people who are participating at any given time, im looking for ideas for all of us to get involved with at the same time. Food, speaks for its self here lol award categories things to generally do as a club rather than as a select few individuals.
