  1. Why all the hatred for snow I love the stuff
  2. we are not going to ban someone based on the view that he likes to drive it like he stole it, thats totally up to him. the club just doesnt want people flouting the law on the forums, which i totally understand and agree with. seems that its just too hard for some people to understand that you can get the same answer to your questions with no mention of what speed was being used.
  3. i take it you didnt read what i put? How you drive is totally up to you, but no need to make people aware on the forum of the speeds your doing on a public road. its not my personal view, though agree with it, its the view of the club. So by all means, drive it like you stole it, but there are ways of asking and getting the same answers with out divulging what you get up to on a public highway.
  4. i had ice last night, my car was the only bloody one in the car park that was iced up.
  5. i wasn't chastising his behaviour, unless you call me saying he's "silly" as having a go, no one cares what you get up to or how you drive when your out and about, but i see no need to blatantly advertise the fact your speeding on a open forum. germany's autobahns have an advisory speed limit of 81mph which most people obay, there might be no genaral speed limit but i assure you the German police still police it for speeding. by the sounds of it you have never had anyone close to you die from a car crash. I have. twice, back in 1999 2 of my friends died (brothers) in rushden on the wellingborough road while doing stupid speeds in their vauxhall calibre, it left the road on a straight section, hit a tree where it ended up heading skywards and pushed the engine into the cabin of the car, killing both of them. then in 2002 one of my friends brothers died on the A45 from Northampton to wellingborough in his BMW, again due to excessive speed, he swerved to avoid a slower car he encountered around a bend, hit the barrier and rolled, his head hit the drivers side window so hard it smashed it, with his head then out of the window and the car rolling, the barrier chopped the top of his head off killing him instantly, me and his brother arrived on the scene 15 mins after it had happened, it took them 40 odd minutes to free the body from the car, having to comfort a mate whos just lost his brother while also morning the loss of a friend your self is hard as it is but having to watch my mates mum bury both her sons on the same day and leaving her childless was not the nicest of experiences and leaves you feeling not only empty but very helpless as well, what on earth do you say to someone whos just gone through losing her sons?
  6. nice to know you class it as "interference" Id just prefer if people didn't state they were doing 160 on motorway and that they are having a hard time controlling said speed now the car has been lowered. Id rather not have posts where people are trying to help someone achieve a stable zed for boosting it down a motorway at over 100mph trying to kill them selves or other people. Id also rather not have a post by a relative stating that said driver ended up in a barrier and the funeral is on such and such a date. Its easy to ask the same question with out implying what the reasons are, a bit more diligence is all thats needed. I'm also fully aware we have removed and asked for people not to state what speeds they are doing on public roads on many occasion and that the club doesnt condone this kind of action. why you felt the need to reply how you did ill never know, but im sure you can appreciate that doing and advertising your doing over 160 on a public highway is inappropriate and should not be condoned OR encouraged.
  7. 2 ways of doing it. boost jets, which is essentially 0.8 welding tips inserted into a pipe Or Boost controller - either manual or electronic best to have accompanying mods, like air filter, decat, chipped ecu if your chasing large amounts of power, then it gets expensive with things like. pistons, cometic headgasket, rods, injectors. depends what power your chasing, most say you can get 14psi out of stock internals on standard injectors, i have no idea about my last engine but it was pushing 16psi using boost jets with a chipped ecu, airfilter, decat exhaust and it ran fine and was very fast.
  8. did what you said about removing the heater hose on the back with engine running, no water dry as a bone yet i cant get any more in the rad, and still no heat, (disconnected the pipe closest to the drivers side. Do i have a blockage else where then? as doesnt seem to be any flow. im just miffed how it can go from being over heating to fine with heating to over heating again with no hot air?
  9. Riggers, mentioning them speeds on a motor way and then complaining it doesnt feel right, is a bit silly, I've had to edit your original post. I've changed it so it doesnt mention the speeds you were doing which is what you should of done in the first place. What i would suggest is driving slower so you don't kill someone. or take it to the track which is where your going to notice the improvements of lowered suspension. Lowering your car is going to stiffen the springs up and on UK roads with all the bumps and what not, stability is going to be very speed dependant.
  10. thing is though, it will cool down and run at a stable temperature when its blowing hot air, but soon as it starts blowing hot air (even when the temp is set on 35 with the fan full and not autoing), the temp rises until i either get hot air or i shut it off. Now when i changed the radiator, i got the flow back through the thermostat, I've checked the old one i took out yesterday and thats still functioning like it should, the after the initial run with the new radiator in, i not only had hot air blowing through the air vents, but the car didn't over heat, left it over night and tried it again the next day, and it just tried to over heat and i got no hot air through the heater matrix, the top feed pipe from the engine to the lower matrix was hot, but the bottom one that feeds the top of the heater matrix was cold, and i just couldn't get any hot air out of the system, it just stayed warm then went cold as the engine temperature started creeping. Ive read up on overheating on the Aus300zx site as they seem to get more overheating problems due to the climate they live in compared to the UK. Id have thought that if it was the HG, that it would over heat regardless of if i had hot air through the heater or not, which just isn't the case. According to the Service manual the heater core is fed from the cylinders and back out into the thermostat housing. surely a major blockage in the heater matrix would restrict the flow and upset the system, other wise a heater matrix bypass would just be better to block both pipes instead of looping them?
  11. only just noticed this post from you matey, to say i can strip the front of the engine in about 5mins and get the thermostat out is a understatement lol But i have a suspicion that my heater matrix may be blocked.
  12. You cant but i can, what do you want it called?
  13. no point for something thats going to be temporary. heater matrix isn't leaking but does need a clean, so may as well get a primera one and change it over before the really cold weather comes, don't want to be freezing me butt off in the zed, well thats if it is a blocked core on the heater matrix thats causing my over heating.
  14. yeah he realised lol :)
  15. ok took the pipes off the heater matrix, if going by the state of the rubber pipes is concerned the heater matrix is going to be clogged. does anyone know what diameter pipe i need to do the by pass, i tried it with the pipes i took off, but they just collapse when bending so will not do.
  16. if you weren't so bloody far away id say do a meet at the A45 round about pub in wellingborough so at least me car might actually make it there for a beer and a spot of dinner.
  17. right had a little thought, going over all the images of my crudded up rad, im going to do a heater matrix bypass and see if it still over heats, have a funny feeling that once id changed my radiator over due to blockage and i got the flow back, the little radiator has clogged up and is now causing me to lose flow so i cant bleed the system correctly. If this fails to work then its most likely HG fault. but if my assumption is correct. this should sort it out until i can change the Heater matrix or at least give it a good flush through. When i changed the rad, it ran fine for about 2 hours while testing it, even giving it boost and everything, the next day when i started the car, it just overheated while on idle, though never reaching more than 105c as i turned it off before then.
  18. the red one i had before this was fine apart from the body work, with the amount of cash ive thrown at this one, i could of had the body work sorted out on the red one. im just fooked this side of the year for doing absolutly anything like unless i do it my self.
  19. know all too well about the front pipes and engine out, i just dont have the room to get the engine out and strip it. ive already got 2 engines and 2 gearboxes clogging up my garage. i know how to strip everything off from the engine, but ive never taken the VG30DETT apart before. done a HG on a VW gold mark 2, but thats a straight 4 which is easy to get to the head bolts. its either i fix this stupid bloody overheating or i just say bugger it and crush the car. getting to my wicks end with it all due to a failed thermostat thats just caused loads of stupid problems, already changed the thermostat twice, water pump, radiator flushed the system as best i could plenty of times till the water ran clear and i still have a overheating problem. so its most likely a fooked HG.
  20. take it i need to strip the turbos off, and take the cams out to get the heads off? also what size torx bit do i need to remove the heads and how would i get the head bolds out to replace them or would i not need too?
  21. lol my fault, should really of said, get a clutch thats going to handle your final set up then get the engine sorted out. bah! heads not with it.
