funny thing is, do a search for why we can not go faster than light and no one seems to have a definitive answer, light is a wave form, we have many forms of light, we only see a small % of that. Megapixel difference in cameras is extremely noticeable if you have a high end DLSR compared with your run of the mill digicam, the sensor is the key with high megapixel images. my canon 350D even at just 6.1 MP out stripes my 10mp digital camera due to its superior CCD sensor. But Pixels i a marketing ploy though as the higher pixels only help when enlarging the image. As for HD tv. al just get a full HD and that way you skip the discussion and will always be able to display a HD image if its available at 1080

i had the same problem with the chrome rings, though mine was the other way around, large rings needed securing, smaller rings too tight and popped back out when driving so needed securing as well. looks good though.

Targa top and windows down in the summer, and the heater is more than capable of removing misty windows with out the aircon, cars have been doing that for ages with out air con so why would it make a difference. My red zed was fine over winter last year and the summer before that it was just fine, and it didn't have aircon. come to think of it, of the 5 zeds ive owned, none have had the Aircon lol

an engine rebuild is going to cost a lot matey, cheaper to get a known working good lump and stick in, im on a tight budget at the moment as it is and really dont want to cut corners with this, so a rebuild would be a jimmer thing for me as its worth the peace of mind from a great chap. If i can source a engine from Jeff at least i know its going to of been tested before it leaves the car he took it from, so although cheaper than a rebuild, its also the better option at the moment, ive just had a engine go blewy that hasn't long had a rebuild just because the bloody thermostat failed. Though ive got 2 engines in my garage we can strip for shits and giggles one day, they will be easier to move in bits as well. though if this block test comes back as neg, im going to be back at square 1 with wondering why its over heating.

you mean the heater matrix, well as that will need doing, plus im going to do the manual conversion, ill take the dash out as its only 10 bolts and do it all at the same time, may even rewire my bloody wing mirrors that don't work while im there.

nope not compression test, block tester is blue liquid that turns green or yellow if hydrocarbons are present in the radiator Compression test most likely wouldn't pick up a hairline crack in the cylinder to water galley wall thats letting combustion gases into the water system. You can also find out what cylinder is leaking with it, called a leak down test, where by you take the plugs off all the cylinders on one bank, test it again and see if your getting the color change, if your not getting the color change, then the leak is on the other bank, you can then go through each cylinder on the other bank testing one by one using the radiator to find out where its leaking from. Compression test will just give me the compression across each cylinder, but with a 20 year old engine, it may be low on some anyway. Hollow point, if i get another engine, im hoping its going to come from zed world so at least i know its a good one. But i know what, what ever engine i get, first thing thats getting changed is the bloody thermostat. annoying when a £20 part can knacker your engine when it fails.

ok plan of action, spoke to jimmer today, who says if its HG then the rings will most likely fail after and he wouldn't want to risk it for me, which is totally fair. I could split the car and with the proceeds get a new zed with no engine work, but every time i look out the window i really don't want too. Or i could get a new engine, change the cam belt on it, change the thermostat water pump, pulleys belts and what not, and stick that in with my manual conversion kit that im still yet to fit. So Wednesday going to order a block tester, though i think i know what its going to say, and go from there. selling it just isn't a viable option, its worth a lot more in parts than what i got offered for it. so looks like im going to be in it for the long haul on this one. Just a crapper that i don't have a car over the winter period for the kids. i just cant bring my self to give up on the old girl with out a good fight.

a zed in the snow is doable, you just have to be very very careful. i managed last year, the only problem i had. was as my zed was so low, it acted like a snow plow with the front bumper scooping up the center line other cars made.

nothing like the fresh smell of 7 acres of cow crap to make you feel alive in the morning......:laugh: rich you get snow like that again, im visiting, we could build a snow zed with that lol
