300ZX Project..Help very Confused...
well when you do, get some photos up, i wish i could slam mine but my local town has been invaded by the dreaded speed humps, so its a no go just yet until i move, but soon as i have, my car is getting slammed :D i think zeds should of been lowered to start with from the factory, as they suit the look perfectly.

if you are keeping it for life, why worry about what others think when you slam that thing, do it mate, if you are worried about resale value, then your heart isnt set on keeping it.

slam it, drop the lights out and swap them for GENUINE 99spec rear lights, this keeps it "stock" as they are OEM parts, the suspension wouldn't lower the price as its an improvement, what could change the price is a body kit, wheels, engine upgrades, you have to remember when selling a car on, the more standard it is, the more someone else can mod it to their own preference if they chose to. Personally its now your car, make your own mind up what you intend to do with it. im not sure what prices are like in Europe with the 300zx, but they are rock bottom here in the UK and do not sell to quick regardless of what's been done to them. With any 300zx i think the main thing would be how well its been looked after is the most key aspect of selling these cars. but personalise the look too much and you put off potential buyers. I think the main question you should be asking your self is, Do you want to do it up to sell it? or keep it, if you are keeping it, mod it to your tastes, cars depreciate in value anyway so it really is up to you.

not sure but have you actually seen many zeds on the road? ive owned 5 since 2008, and only ever ran into one other 300zx on the road, so being "individual" isnt that hard to accomplish in a 300zx, also unless you go for the bog standard look or the wide arch look, "individual" is also very easy to achieve even when at a 300zx meet. Oh and for a bit of fun

How the feck to get these studs out!

i had to angle grind a 10mm ring spanner (make it slightly thinner) once the spanner was on, hit it with a rubber mallet or even a metal hammer to crack the nut from its tightness, then it undoes with your fingers. well did for me on all 4 turbos ive removed so far.

Exhaust
could do with a clean up and repair, just be aware of that, but ill get some photos for you and send them, think ive got a picture somewhere of it on the car so will dig that out as well, ive got your number and removed it from your reply for privacy.

Show us your.....
daz what did you do with the rear air vents? or does it still blow hot air directly to the rear of the ipad?
-
Exhaust
i have a single exit cat back system in my garage, its a 5zigen, though it needs repairing on the pipe and at the rear of the back box where the car was too low and constant scraping and knocking on speed humps put a bloody hole in it, i never binned it as its repairable where you wont see the repair. sounded lovely too even with the holes in it lol

Do we have/or could we have a live chat room on here??
As stellaz said, the biggest issue with having a chat bar at the top of the main forum page is people just ask questions in there for a quick easy answer, it effectively kills the forum as people think its easier to get a answer in the chat bar, thus questions that could be helpful to others are gone with in a few hours with no record of them and people would much rather sit in the chat bar than talk on the open forum. Ive seen a few forums go down hill due to this.

SpeedView Head up Display
I've edited out the rest, but the ones ive left are the ones ill draw comment on. I use my iPhone 4 for GPS and with it mounted up near the windscreen works flawlessly, technology has moved on quite a bit and GPS is a key factor in today's mobile market. Tomtom on my iPhone 4, works better than my tomtom one that is a standalone tomtom product. Also im not sure if you have ever used a new smart phone like the iPhone 4 or Samsung galaxy, but visibility in strong sun light isnt a problem they suffer with. Anyway back to GPS, GPS works with satellites to pinpoint your location by working out the time it takes the signal to go from the satellites to your device, there are 31 GPS satellites in orbit and at any one point you should have a minimum of 3 over head, all the satellites transmit there location and time the message was sent, your device then works out where you are in relation to the satellite, the more satellites you have over head the more accurate it is, this is very accurate compared to a few years ago due to the leap in CPU power that smart phones now have over standalone GPS equipment. i understand your statement from a advertising perspective, but it is actually slightly incorrect with today's technology. On to your second comment, having something in your line of sight does not distract you from what you need to concentrate on. a fighter pilot may have only clouds in front of him, but he still needs to be aware of potential problems arising from objects in front of him. not all fighter pilots fly at high altitude. also its well known that AH64 pilots have a HUD attached to there helmet that feeds target information. My concern with it being in the corner in your "peripheral vision" is that you may as well move your eyes to the dash cluster rather that to the side, to check your speed. there for it is of no real benefit over what is already there. Again, i understand the need to relay information to encourage people to purchase said items so a little twist of the truth can sometimes make the difference between a sale and a non sale. But i also need to clarify what i was on about with where the positioning of the unit would be better suited. if the unit is directly below your line of sight but not near the dash cluster, it would make it much better, the new corvette currently comes with a HUD in this position personally where it is in your pictures looks like it would be roughly where my natural blind spot would be and would easily be forgotten and only really checked while im checking my mirrors. Please dont take it as a moan its more constructive criticism
