One of my friends called me frantically saying they needed £60 as a matter of life and death. They gave me some crappy excuse about why they needed it but im sure its for drugs so I refused to help (again always £60 and I never got the last £60 back). What do you think it is at £60 a pop? I had something similar happen to me before from an old school friend and he was a Heroin addict. No matter how often he said he was clean I knew that whenever he wanted money it was for his dealers. It was very destressing and I know that you dont dont help people when they are in this situation and you give them money.

Guys Thanks for the offers of help, we all kind of help eachother out on here. I think its part of what makes this place so great. Im ok dropping a new rad in and trying my new second hand fan clutch. I think if I can get it running at a normal temp that its half way there as it has been quite frustrating. Daz I know what you mean, things have been kind to me in recent years and dont want to be seen as some moaning rich bloke tosser type. Im a council estate kid that has come good, so I am very aware of exactly what you mean. Starting my company I originally got £85K in debt on credit cards, loans and generally borrowed every penny I could. And we were one mortgage payment away from loosing the house lol. Remember you make your own luck! I have taken risks that most people would never even think about. When they pay off happy days but when they dont its very stressful.

Yes I tried to, I have run it and put the heater on etc and jacked the front up. It could have an air lock in there though i guess? any way to check to make sure all the air is out?.

Thanks guys it kind of puts stuff into perspective just at the stage where I am sick of the whole thing. The Muppets charged me £1300 this month to get it running dont mind spending the money but get real pissed when stuff is not done right and have to pay someone else to do it again. Blinkin car

I spent bundles of time and money completely rebuilding my Zed, every nut and bolt has been canged and it has had all the best parts that money can buy. I really wanted to get it to the stage where I could take it to JAE, and I think it is probably not going to happen :thumbdown:. It is now at the stage where it is running, it has about a months MOT left on it and I put six months Tax on it. Thing is I have a few issues with it that really need sorting out before I can do anything with it. Firstly it is running hot, im hoping its a blocked Rad or the viscose fan clutch. I bought a new fan clutch from the US and its the wrong one :angry:. I have just recieved a secondhand one but have no way of knowing if it works ok. Bought a new rad and a secondhand one and waiting on either one to be delivered so I can see if that helps. Its sods law even simple stuff like a new rad takes ages to get at the moment! its not anyones fault but no one has any of them on the shelf. Then the thing is running really rich, it does about 3-4mpg and bangs when you go on and off the throttle. Mechanically the engine is 100% sweet as a nut and there is no smoke but I dont want to drive it like this in case I get bore wash or cook it. Kermet the frog and the rest of the muppets who did the set up told me by e-mail that is was definately not running rich????. Thing is it needs to go to someone who really knows their stuff with AEM and thats not really that easy. I have been recommended someone by surrey rolling road and despite a few calls I have not heard back from him yet. Then there is no way in hell that I can get an MOT on this car at the moment because of the emissions. Also my speedo no longer reads properly, I need a fog light, my horn does not work because of the steering wheel, and my brakes need bedding in properly and I cant do tha because of the way the car is running getting hot or over fuelling. And I have no washers and a few other electrical gremlins to fix. Most of it is little stuff compaired to all the work I have done to the car but I really cant see it being done in time for JAE and that has been my motivation for the last six months. Also I have now almost completely lost all motivation to do anything to it until the cooling and over fueling issues have been sorted. Its so frustrating as its so close yet so far away!. What should I do? I was thinking of taking the battery out and then just leaving it in the garage until maybe next year and try again to get it sorted and on the road then?. Ohhh when I was driving it there was a big bang and now when you brake at crawling speeds it feels like the car is rocking before it brakes I think something on the suspension might have broken but visually could not see it yet.

I did a hicas removal and used a lockout bar on the back, I kept the original Pump and Pot as well. You can get around joining the fluid pipes by simply running new pipes from the pot directly to the original power steering stuff (if you want to??). You might only need one from memory if you keep the pot in the same place but I changed all three as I relocated the pot.

I might be able to get the Zed down there tommorow for a few hours, its doing about 3 MPG but im sure I could make the 40 mile round trip on a tank full.

I gave the last two away as we got fed up waiting about. And you cant put a foot wrong with the Porker you just put your foot down and the car does everything else. Very very nice ZED you have the bodywork and interior are lovely

Stay well clear it will be an unrelable bucket of puss that will end up making you feel sick every time that you look at it. Everything about Ferraris except for the looks suck. Eveyone will tell you that and you will think that you know better and buy one anyhows (I did). The second best day of your life is buying a Ferrari the best day of your life is selling it. They a VERY unreliable, even the smallest little things are hugely over priced to the extent of madness. £400 for a replacement mirror glass, £350 for a little plastic switch etc etc. A friend of mine bought one of these and I told him this before he bought it, he ended up selling it six months later after wasting a fortune on it before he was able to sell it. Typically when you look at a Ferrari log book they have had more owners than a 1976 capri. Reason being everyone longs to own one until they find out just how bad they are and cost to run then sell them to get a decent car. Anyhows on the plus side they ae real head turners and everytime you drive it you will feel like a film star, you will get loads of attention and people will take lots of pictures. Im not short of a few quid but holy crap Ferrari ownership made me want to throw up more than a few times. Even real basic stuff will have an extra few grand attached to it. Almost every Ferrari has been clocked regularly as well as they are very milage sensative. Just price up simple stuff like replacing the brakes and tyres. Or doing clutches or cam belt changes and you will see it gets very expensive. BUT DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you have the black zed that had a for sale note in the window parked next to a Sierra Cosworth? if so its a nice zed I stopped to have a look at it. I missed a trick today being tiptronic my car pulls away in second, someone said I should have put it in manual and turned the PSM off for a faster getaway using first gear. Im sure I could get it into the 11s like this but 10s is bike speed the impreza must be a monster I did not see it there. I wish the Zed was all run in and running right that would be very fast if you can lay it down.

The zed needs mapping again as its running to rich and the guy is on holiday, also waiting for a rad and fan clutch taken ages..

Went to modified madness today http://www.modifiedmadness.co.uk/ it was just up the road from where I live. Cut a long story short we took turns in my Porker to see what she did drag wise. Just heard back from Kyle at IPP he said it is probably the fan clutch for the viscose fan so I will try that and let you know how I get on. Just tested the one I have on the car and it does seem to spin a bit on the easy side (fingers crossed).

I dont think he does AEM would love someone on here to do it as I just keep taking pot luck otherwise.

yep but my options were limited as it was a non runner at the time. Where can I take it that does good AEM tuning?

I think the map is crap, I e-mailed them to say its running rich and I got some bullshit reply telling me it was running lean blah blah blah. I pops and bangs when you start to put your foot down and it burbles pops and bangs when you come off the gas. That and 4mpg says it all really. Would a bad map be responsible for the higher running temp? Spoke to Jimmer he said it could be the rad something or other blocked by solder, have a new one on order from DTA so will try that. Also e-mailed Kyle for suggestions/
