  1. Hey bud. I have been using that meguiars ultimate compound and have come up with some pretty decent results. It is not too aggressive but will get most of the swirls etc out. I would be inclined to follow it with finer finishing polish before i went with the wax. With regards to which mops/pads to use I would go with a medium density pad to see what sort of results you get. (I like the 3M pads) I used the same wax as Gary on the zed last time.. that poorboys paste is really decent, easy top apply, you don't need to leave it long to cure and it is bloomin cheap in comparison to other waxes out there. Check out my thread to see some pics of the results of using the meguiars products.... particularly the 50/50 pic.. gives you a good indication of what you can achieve with the ultimate compound. http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?159004-And-now-for-the-Zed&highlight= Don't forget to take some before and after photos for us all.

I'm in guys. I'll be bringing my mate and his 2 boys.... and I am excited... I think that this year we could really push the boat out and make it a show to remember. Ian, I'm sure you have taken it all on board, but I'll say it anyway.... there was some really good constructive feedback on last years event, and some very generous offers of help etc, I was just wondering if you had collated all the stuff people spoke about on those threads and started contacting said members who kindly offered stuff to make the event an even greater success? For example, I will bring a projector and laptop with loads of downloaded retro cartoons and maybe some DVDs (car related i might add... Taxi, Italian job, gone in 60 secs, Bullet, fast and furious etc) so that there can be a corner of the tent geared towards entertainment... I'll bring some speakers and a couple of ipods so that we can have some tunes too. I was thinking of bringing some silly quizes, table games (jenga etc) cards (late night poker perhaps..) etc, etc, just to try and make the main tent a bit more of a social space... we have that amazing massive tent, great members and i think we need to maximise this. Likewise I am sure that other members like IanL offered to bring stuff like lighting rigs, or sound systems, Andy Isherward offered to help out with the food and cooking as he's a dab hand in the kitchen, are just a few of those who offered help... but they would probably need: 1, reminding of their generous offers, and 2, time to sort it all out. Like i said, I'm sure your already on it, and i have every faith that this will get better and getter every year, but with 6 or 7 months to go, I think that gives us more than enough time to really raise the bar this time round. With that all said, I am properly looking forward to a weekends fun and games.
  3. I'm in this time guys, just gotta get the MOT done, she should be ok as she's only done a few miles this year!
  4. Nice wheels... Just a bit of a Hijack, but a big shout out to IndianZX for sending me a rear panel free of charge... TOP BLOKE!!!
  5. I just paid via paypal.. happy days!
  6. 18s over 17s all day long. I would post, but photobucket is not my friend at the moment..
  7. The car looks lush. Thank god you are both alright and the car survived it's adventure!
  8. I think he means what jobs to do before Japfest this year bud.... :innocent:
  9. Small boot build, with a bit of sound deadening. Sort front bumper mesh, then replace undertray Restore new leather seats before they go in Deal with silly bits like plastidip the window trim Not too bad a list really. .... oh and the dreaded MOT is coming up soon.. shouldn't be too bad really as she's not done many miles this year.
  10. Do you particularly like your existing alloys? If not why not have a look around and see what wheels you can get your hands on as £490 is a lot of dosh and would probably get you a decent set of 2nds from somewhere? I always think that the zed sits just right on 18s or 19s to be honest.
  11. Check out that Boldy build/project thread... he smoothed in the rear, skirts and front bumper.... Looks the tits imo, but no margin for i guess, ie any movement and you might get cracking?
  12. *Lights a fat cigar* I love it when a plan comes together! :gunsmilie::gunsmilie:
  13. They look nice and tidy mate, good job.
  14. D'oh, I should have read your post properly... Check out this FAQ thread for model comparisons http://www.300zx.org.uk/mod_comp_0.htm What you thinking of going for? what's your budget? Etc? Etc? There are some very solid cars on here for sale at the moment from some very loving owners.
  15. http://300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?58-General-Faqs Check out the FAQs mate, there is some really useful stuff in there. SWB tend to command more money that LWB as there are a bit rarer. If you do a quick search you will see that this subject has been discussed many times before. I like the LWB, I like the way it sits, and it lends itself to the whole GT cruiser type thing that I feel the Zed is. Welcome to the site by the way, and feel fre to ask as many newbie questions as you like.... (just to make you feel a bit better, I think that my 1st or 2nd post was also about the whole LWB vs SWB thing) enjoy.
  16. Igualmente, esta bien tenerle aqui. I think she will be a belter mate. I can imagine that cruising around on those windy spanish roads will be awesome.
  17. Hola amigo! Nice looking zed there mate. What is wrong with the engine?

  20. I have a can winging it's way to me as we speak, to do the windscreen and window trim... I'll post a thread about it.. ie how tough, how successful etc.
