Yeah I had an excellent day to, good meeting you Chunk, and the other guys, my old Zed did a 14.3 with it's new owner driving, not bad seeing at it was his first time at the Pod... he won both his runs too. Did you see that purple Corsa looking completely bog standard on wheel trims running 13's?!?! :shock: lol some people have no style... ;) The orange old school Escort was a bit tasty as well I video'd that run Chunk, we were on the grass verge going "ooooh that Liner looks a bit tasty... go on Chunk!" and sure enough, you done him, was funny to hear he left straight away! :rofl: All in all a great day out, and I can say I expereinced "The long dog" now as well, as well as "The double whammy"... :p I'm definately going again, so is Darren, so see you next time! (Next time we should arrange to park up together again like a few of us were)

Hmm. I think you're advice is good there, I mean he may just be saying 18 psi because it has a boost controller and that's what it's capable of, but only running 12/14 or something like that. Thanks Chris, just what I thought, I was thinking the same thing with the 18psi thing. I would have thought bigger turbos or strengthened internals would have been required for something like that, after reading what you guys have done to yours. I think I'll give this one a miss. :cry:

Fill the Zed up with fuel, go cruising round, pick up as many fit birds that like the car (use the boot here if you have to) and take 'em back to yours with a videocamera and 20 litres of wine. Ok, so if you have a perfectly healthy Jap spec Manual to start with then add the following mods; Straight through from maniflold de-cat exhaust Chip HKS Induction Boost controller (18psi) Bleed valves Would you say it was around 450 brake? I wouldn't think it would be that much, but there is one up for sale near me where the owner reckons "it's around 450" Well I'm gonna go take a look, and having only just got rid of mine I should be able to tell a huge difference right? I'm hoping there is some element of truth, but I know you have to be wary of owners trying to sell "adding on bhp" to make it sound better... Just wondered what the thoughts of all the engine tuners out there was because to be honest the standard 280/300 bhp would be enough for me, but having a few extra gee gee's never hurt anyone did it? One thing, on the site it says if you are gonna be doing over a ton at the finish line you'll need a helmet, how strictly do they enforce this? And he has no idea if my old Zed will make it over the line at over 100, and he hasn't got a helmet... I said take a look at the speedo, if he's doing over a ton slam on the brakes lol any ideas lads, I've never been before... :D

Which trader supplies them on here? Anyone ever done one? Any problems? I'm enquiring as there is a whole host of autos out there, but not many Manuals, so I'm thinking sod it, I just won't worry whether it's an Auto and budget a conversion in with the price... I suppose this has to be declared to your insurance company as well, I wonder if they put their premiums up? p.s. and yeah the boss indoors has said she misses the Zed too and as Dave C so eloquently put it I'm "getting my genetalia back" pmsl!

That's reassuring, it was terrible on the Focus, creaked like an old boat lol but I figured it wouldn't be a problem on a Zed... Anyone remember how much a manual conversion (fitted) is just in case? ;)

I was wondering how bad the Auto Zeds are with creep - something that drove me nuts with my Auto Focus I had. Every time I came to a stop I got a creaking noise as the car pushed against the brakes, is it really noticeable in the Auto Zeds? I've only ever driven - or ridden in Manuals bar one Auto, but couldn't hear due to him having his stereo up... I'm just wondering, as this really is the only thing that puts me off Auto's... So Auto owners, be honest now, how bad is it?

No, not anything female related, I sold my Zed to one of my close friends about a month or two ago, and man do I miss driving it... I sold it mainly due to the fact that I could stop being a lazy git and walk the 20 minutes to work, and we sold the Astra GTE as well, to get a Citroen Xantia TD for my wife's daily commute to work, and dropping down to a one car family to save money. But now the Sun is coming out, and after walking all the f****** time I really want it back :( Anyone else sold recently and is now regretting it? I've seen two that I would love to own that have come up for sale on here, and I've been SO tempted to come round with the cash and drive them away, but alas the wife says a big fat NO... :( My brain says it was a good financial decision, but my heart and soul is screaming for that feeling of driving a Zed again. With the tops off, the stares and smiles from the pedestrians and other drivers, the sounds of an Alpine system pumping out your favourite tune, the knowledge that you can blow away that arrogant Porsche driver who just cut you up on the roundabout, the sheer godamn fun of drifting in the middle of the night, just because you can... I'm off to cry in the corner *sobs* lol I WANT MY ZED BACK!!! :cry:

Hi mate, I'm 24 with an import TT. Kept on the drive, no alarm bonuses or anything like that and I insured with Admiral, £980 fully comp with 3 years introductory NCB, and mods declared. It was even cheaper if I paid the whole lot outright, it's £980 including the deposit and payments. Hope this helps you mate. Is this the red SWB? If you want to sell it, I've got first dibs lol :x:
