  1. Hi guys, I've got a DVD-RW/CD-RW unit (Sony) fitted in my tower case which has been behaving beautifully for about 4 months. Played a DVD yesterday (which was fine) and now it is acting up! :headvswal When playing an audio CD it has a loud ticking noise through the track. The tick is equally spaced (if that makes sense) and doesn't vary in frequency or loudness. It's really annoying! I've looked at the unit but can't see anything obviously wrong. It does this with every audio CD I try to play so it isn't the CD it self. Any ideas (a) what the problem is, (b) how to resolve it or © should I buy a new one? Incidentally, it hasn't affected software installation ... Thanks for your thoughts! Dan
  2. Hi there! I've been selling A'PEXi's for a couple of years now and induction kits really don't come any better than these! Independent tests have shown that like-for-like the A'PEXi's have the best filtration quality and flow-through rate. Installation is also a doddle once the old airbox is out of the way. I would recommend that you keep the splash guard underneath the filter in place to minimise the risk of the filter element becoming wet. A vented nose panel shouldn't be too much of a problem either provided you have mesh fitted to the gaps. I'm currently out of stock of the A'PEXi's but new stock will be arriving in about two week's time. Priced at £85 + £5 postage - you can't go wrong! As for you mods, I would do them in the following order: oil cooler ECU Chip and induction kit at the same time (I can do both for you ...) ALC (£195 from us) BOV's You may also want to consider a free flowing exhaust system - like a Mongoose system (currently £485 from us). If you increase the air intake (ie induction kit) then you'll want to free up the exhaust side of the equation as well. Good luck! Danny
  3. Yep - I do these! Got one set left in stock, new stock due in two weeks. Price = £35 plus £5 delivery. If you want some clear indicator bulbs which glow amber I can sort you out with those too ... £15 for a pair of Osrams - top quality and it gets rid of the "fried egg" look if you retain the original amber bulbs. Let me know if you want the last set! Dan
  4. Thanks guys - I've not had much luck finding a new one anywhere so I'll probably have to buy a second hand one ... Darren - I'll contact you later to discuss this option. Cheers! Danny
  5. Hi Andy, Further to Stuart's response above, let me add the following: JWT chips come from a US based company called "Jim Wolf Technology" - have a look at their website at http://www.jimwolftechnology.com. As stuart says, boost jets are devises placed in the actuator hoses which decrease the pressure on the actuator thereby allowing it to open later resulting in higher boost pressure. If you're running higher boost pressure then you need different air/fuel/timing maps to account for this increase. This is what the JWT chip does - it offers different air/fuel and timing maps to allow you to run higher than stock boost pressure. It also does other things like remove the speed limiter, raises the rev limiter slightly, etc. I hope the above is useful. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask ... Dan
  6. Anyone have any info on new auto boxes????? Dan
  7. Hi all, As my auto box is now well and truly on its last legs I started researching the various options available to me. (1) rebuild gearbox to stock spec, (2) rebuild gearbox to "fast road" spec, (3) buy second hand gearbox known to be working. Ideally I'd like option (2) but limited finances may force me into another option. However, as a final alternative I'd like to know whether it is possible to buy a completely new gearbox, say directly from Japan. Does anyone know whether this is possible and if so are the gearboxes "year" specific - ie you can't fit a 96 gearbox to a 90 car ... I seem to recall that the autobox out of a JDM TT was also fitted to another JDM Nissan, possibly a pickup truck ... Anyone know if this is correct? Thanks for the feedback! Dan
  8. Just a thought ... isn't there a law that states all speed cameras must be clearly visible (ie, yellow paint on back and proper signage along the way)? As this camera is completely unmarked anyone receiving a summons may have a case to contest it ... Just a thought though - no excuse to go racing through one and finding out ;) Suppose we're not as bad in the UK as they are in Holland. A few months ago my sister sent me some pictures of an unmarked speed camera hidden in a wheely bin! Sneaky buggers! Danny
  9. Thank you very much for this glowing review! It's great to hear that our products are appreciated as well as our efforts to provide clear fitting instructions and good customer service. I'm looking forward to being of service to you again in the future. All the best, Dan
  10. Hi all, Just thought I'd mention this as I think it a a completely convoluted way of revenue generation. There is now a covert camera on the M42 South bound between junctions 5 (Solihull) and 4 (Shirley/A34). It has been mounted on one of the overhead "active traffic management" structures (the electronic signs which tell you how slow to go ...) and is not signposted or marked in yellow. It's two cameras with a flash unit in the middle. Very difficult to spot but I was sitting in traffic going the other way and saw it go off at least 3 times over a two minute period. So be warned ... Dan
  11. Yes mate, still alive and kicking! I've only got a few sets of speedo rings left at the moment so get your order in while you can! £32 + £1.50 postage = £33.50 (if paying via cheque or transfer) £34.50 if paying via paypal (includes paypal fee) Payment instructions can be found here. Send me a pm or e-mail when you're ready. Regards, Dan

We have both the crystal clear front indicators and new fog lights in our current product line-up. Indicators: £35 + £15 for silver indicator bulbs + £5 postage Fog lights are a bit tricky: J-spec full assembly (ie back plate with two bulb openings - one for fog and one for driving light - , reflector and glass): £170 plus £8 postage  Otherwise you're looking at £95 + £8 postage for just the lens and reflector unit. If you'd like just fog lights then you're looking at £65 + £8 postage for US-spec fog light units. The fogs are special order and may take upto 3 weeks to deliver. The crystal front indicators will be back in stock at the end of the month. Let me know if the above is of any use to you. Cheers! Dan
  13. FYI: When disconnecting the negative terminal the fault codes are erased within a 30 minute period. HOWEVER, the ECU will retain the so-called "self learn" values for a considerably longer period of time. These are values such as the air/fuel ratios for each bank, etc. If you disconnect the battery for 30 minutes the fault codes are cleared but not the self learn values which basically means the car "may" still be over/under fueling, etc. Leave the battery disconnected between 1 and 2 hours and all values will be reset and you'll start the car off with a clean slate. And you're right, using a ConZult you can clear the fault codes and the self learn values with a click of a button! ;) Dan
  14. Yep, sure could! DTA-Motorsport is an official Stillen reseller in the UK. I've recently enquired about the Type III skirts and am anticipating a price any day now. I'll keep you informed. If the price is half decent then I'm probably ordering a pair for my own car as well so this could work out better shipping cost wise ... Speak soon. Dan
  15. Thanks again guys! AndyP - thanks for your thoughts ... I have indeed decided that the desktops will be wired into the router/gateway and the two laptop will go wireless. I'm still in two minds about the Linksys gear (which btw is Cisco ...) but will probably go for Netgear equipment as this is what is sold in a shop around the corner (they also use it for their backoffice ...) I'm getting the broadband from Nildram (through BT) so will be on the lookout for an ADSL modem/router combo. Off to the shops I go! :D All the best, Danny
  16. OK - thank you very much for the feedback! I now understand considerably more and will do some more research. Cheers! Danny
  17. Hi guys, I'm just about to order a new broadband connection through Nildram and will need to buy new equipment. The current setup is 2 desktops and one laptop, each with their own dial-up modem. It is my intention to set up a wireless network and have the three share one broadband connection. I've been looking at some Linksys gear which has been recommended to me by a friend. However, having never set up or worked with a wireless network I'm a little confused as to what gear I actually require and how it is all connected. I'm looking at buying a 108Mbit "gateway", 108Mbit PCI card for each desktop and a 108Mbit PCMCIA card (these are all so called "speed booster" bits of kit based on 54Mb ADSL-g). I understand that there is a physical connection between the gateway and the adsl socket. The gateway also has four network connectors at the back. The question is, do I need to connect the two desktops physically to the gateway using these network connections or can they be connected "wirelessly" to the gateway? I would hope so otherwise there isn't much point to a "wireless network" ... Also, apart from the above components are there any other accessories I should be looking at? I will also be getting a wireless print server in due course. Oh, and what is the difference between an ADSL gateway and router? Many thanks for your help! Dan
  18. Guys - from experience, the TokyoAuto boys will not do any business with foreigners if you don't speak Japanese ... I've tried to set up a trade relationship with them for over a year now and only recently managed to find a reliable Japanese national who is willing to work on my behalf with TokyoAuto ... It's probably different if you go there in person but not once have they answered an e-mail I sent them. Phoning is also not an option as none of them speak any other language than Japanese. They do have some very nice stuff available and I'm hopeful to have a selection of them very soon! I'll keep you posted. Cheers! Danny
  19. Best I ever experienced was quite a few years ago when my then-girlfriend and I were on the beach in Greece. Some Greek "Adonis" kneeled next to her (blocking her sun) and started chatting her up (and I'm laying right next to her ...) When I realised what was happening I could see he positioned himself in such a way that she could look right up his loose-fitting shorts :hurl: ! My friend and I picked the weirdo up and dumped him in the sea! Didn't see him again after that! :D I too know how you feel ...
  20. Hi Ken, I am the official UK distributor for the ConZult diagnostic kit. Yes, Datascan is a lot cheaper than the ConZult but you can not compare the two - they are in different leagues. Please understand that I mean no disrespect to the creators of Datascan and those who use it but I would not personally waste my money on it. You're buying this type of equipment because (a) you want to be able to view accurate real-time sensor feedback, (b) you want to perform "one-click" ECU, Engine, Transmission and Heating system diagnostics, and © you want to perform certain workshop operations. Datascan will perform (a) and (b) to a certain extend but where the real value of this equipment comes into play is the data interpretation and workshop functionality. If you're looking for a nice display of moving clocks and guages then Datascan equipment will do that for you. If however you're looking to extract real value from the equipment then you're only option is to purchase a ConZult diagnostic kit. We have many customers (a majority are also members on this forum) who rave about the ConZult, how much they have learned about their car and how much money they have saved on avoiding unnecessary repairs. We also have several Nissan franchise dealers who use our equipment rather than Nissan's own Consult kit. Furthermore, ZTech, The Zen Garage and ZedWorld (amongst other performance specialists) use the ConZult on a daily basis and wouldn't be without it. At the end of the day the decision is yours and the only thing I can do is point out that the ConZult is far superior to any other so-called diagnostic kit out there. The reason why it is considerably more expensive is the it was designed from scratch by two Zed experts. They've spent an unmentionable amount of their time perfecting the software and modifying the hardware to work seamlessly on not only the 300ZX but also 200SX, 100NX, Primera, Almera, Skyline, Pulsar/Sunny, etc. It truly is a stunny piece of equipment. As for the minimum requirement, our ConZult will run happily on a Pentium 1 166MHz with 32Mb of Ram. My suggestion is you run it on a Pentium 1 233MHz laptop with 64Mb RAM and a decent graphics card. A CD-ROM drive is also a must as this is how we supply the software and usermanual. OS wise it'll run on Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000 and XP. I hope the above has been of some use to you. If you wish to discuss the ConZult any further please feel free to contact me directly on 07044016586 during business hours. All the best, Dan
  21. Thank you very much Kay and Chris - just what I was looking for! Cheers! Dan
  22. Hi guys! Would someone be so kind as to post a pic of their Zed with HID's fitted (light up I mean). I have a customer who wants to "preview" what it may look like and I can't seem to find my own pics (must have left them on the old PC when I upgraded ... Doh!) Many thanks for your help! Dan
  23. Si, You should have said when you ordered the bits - I've got silver vision bulbs in stock. £15 delivered ... Cheers! Dan
  24. Ha ha! Very funny Alex! Would the real Alex please stand up! Dan
  25. Hi mate! Can you please get in touch with me - your HID kit is about to arrive and I need some details from you. Cheers! Dan PS - before everybody and their dog phones me claiming they're Alex - I know who placed the order so don't even try it ;) LOL
