  1. Firstly, I am not currently in this type of situation nor have I been in the past, so these comments are based purely on my common sense. Speak to a solicitor specialised in family law. You may never have to use the legal information you gain but it is worth speaking to one for your own peace of mind. You'll know where you stand legally and what you can and can not do/expect. As Znut stated - common sense is paramount and the interest/well-being of your son should be the number one priority. Divorce/separation is always hard on kids and if this is the way things are going to go in your situation then you have a lot of work ahead to make sure your son understands the reasons why this is happening and that no matter where he is you are always thinking of him and there for him. At 4 years old I'm not sure how much the lad will understand but you have to approach the situation with as much common sense as possible. So get some legal advise and I've got my fingers crossed for an amicable and workable resolution to the situation. All the best, Dan
  2. Sounds like a plan Leigh ... (yet again LOL) I will be in "gay" Holland this weekend back on Tuesday so lets touch base towards the end of next week.
  3. Thank you very much indeed! I too thought it was 15% but the tinting company came up with a completely different figure. I get the impression they are cowboys - won't be using them! So, from the PDF file (thanks hunnipie :)) I conclude that the side windows directly next to the driver's and passenger's head must allow 70% of the light through. The windscreen (!!) needs to allow 75% of the light through and there are no restrictions on rear side windows and/or rear hatch windows. Cheers! Dan PS - Thanks Leigh - question for you: when are we getting together for a meal?! Call me when you get the chance please.
  4. Hi, Just a quickie: What is the darkest tinting you can legally have on the side windows in the UK? Is it a different rating for the rear quarter windows, rear screen and front door windows or is it all one standard? Also, my car has original Japanese tinting on the rear screen. I've had a careful go at removing a small section by using a heat gun but the stuff won't budge. It also leaves adhesive residue on the window which turns rock solid when dried. Can anyone suggest an alternative method of getting it off? A local tinting company said they use solvents which "may" damage the interior - so I'm not so keen on letting them do it. Also, they want £110 for the privilege of removing some tint ... and another £300 to apply new tints! Any/all feedback much appriciated as always! Ta Ra! Dan
  5. I can supply the pipes with any of the following colour couplers: red, blue, yellow or black. Top quality stainless steel (polished to a mirror finish), best quality 4-ply silicone couplers and above all great service ( ) LOL Let me know if I can help you get these sorted. Regards, Dan
  6. I'm not from the area but do live near it (only about 30~40 minutes away from Oxford centre). It's a great area and generally quite "posh". I've got a lot of wealthy clients who live out that way (NSX, Ferrari and Lambo). I really like it there and if it is up to me I'd be moving there sooner rather than later but I think my wife may have something to say about that ... Good luck with the job hunting! All the best, Dan

Although that is a very good kit I would think it is OTT for most cars without serious power modifications. A single filter/maf setup will suffice for power output upto 450~500 bhp.
  8. Yes, best location is as close to the throttle bodies (ie inner hard pipe). HOWEVER, in my experience and that of several other well respected tuning companies both in the UK and US, by placing the BOVs on the inner hard pipe there is a possibility of decreased performance. By this I mean bad idling and significant hesitation. I do not know why this is the case, and it isn't the case on all cars (just to make it interesting  ) From a fitment point of view it certainly would be easier to fit BOVs to the inner hard pipes (ie much more room). Replacing the stock recircs would be the best solution IMO. ATB Dan

Hi Graham, You have several choices. If you want to stay "standard" then you can get some replacement panel filters either from Nissan, K&N or A'PEXi. You'll get better airflow through the panels but the airbox is the major restriction. If you want to go "after market" then I can highly recommend the A'PEXi filter kit I [DTA] sell. It's a doddle to fit (kit comes with ENGLISH fitting instructions incl. how to take out the standard airbox) and makes a noticable difference to low-to-mid range torque. Cost = £85 + delivery. Fitting time = 15~30 minutes depending on how easy you find it to remove the stock airbox. Maintenance is also very simple as it is a dry-type filter. Just wash it under a running tap and allow to dry before reinstalling. No filter oil required at all. There are other filters available such as the Blitz SUS. Also very good and it comes down to personal taste which kit you go for. In general the Blitz kits are more expensive than the A'PEXi kits and don't offer the same filtration qualities. I would suggest you steer clear of the HKS mushroom type filters. It's not uncommon for the foam to degrade and end up in the intake system (= not good). Like I said, at the end of the day it is a personal choice. Contact me if you want to discuss further. All the best, Dan
  10. Thanks guys! ATB Dan
  11. Don't know where you saw the £230 figure but I've never come across a complete set under £350 plus shipping and VAT! In any case, I'm afraid we can't split the sets and sell you just the two light clusters. I ran my own car with two 99-spec light clusters and an old centre panel and to be honest it was a disgrace to look at. The difference in clarity and general condition between the centre panel and the lights was just too big. If you are going to decide to go the 99-spec route I strongly recommend you buy the full set. Let me know if you're still interested and I'll sort the rest out. ATB Dan
  12. Hi mate! Those look like very nice spacers! Are they custom made or off-the-shelf jobbies? I need to get a pair for my front axle as the Kahn alloys I just bought look a little too far in-set in to the wheel well. Will probably decide to go with either 5 or 10mm spacers - guess I'll need to get some longer studs as well then ... Can I ask where you got the spacers from? Cheers! Dan
  13. Hi Si, Clear Corners are a pretty good company. I get them to make up quite a few bits and pieces for my Lamborghini and Maseratti clients. However, beware that a lot of items are not carried in stock and their claim of certain things taking months to sort is not an exageration. I've had to wait three months to get a pair of smoked Gallardo rear light lenses shipped over. Well worth the wait in the end but took far too long (in the meantime the customer had sold his 04 Gallardo e-gear and bought a white 06 Gallardo SE - looks the dogs danglies). If they succesfully manage to convert the brake light to LEDs I'd be most interested in seeing it. ATB Dan
  14. I'll as to see if DTA (NL) are willing to split the sets. If you look at the ZCentre site you'll find that we're cheaper after you calculate in VAT and delivery costs on the ZCentre prices.
  15. Hi Danny, Sorry to hijack your thread but I thought it important to point out that you are not me ;) What I mean by that is that my full name is Danny Zaat and I often use "DannyZ" as an ID on this and other forums. As I am a trader on this forum I thought it important to make the distinction. :) Hijack over ... Regards, Dan
  16. A sad day indeed ... :( He was one of the reasons I took up tennis and I've been very lucky to have met him AND played several games of tennis with him whilst I was living in DC and Florida back in the late eighties/early nineties. I "trained" at the Nick Bollettieri academy for a short while and he was a regular visitor/coach there. Always a colourful presence on court. I still can't believe how he manages to return practically every serve coming his way with such grace. He's a good man, colourful character and a superb player. I hope he'll continue to play on the exhibition circuit. I haven't played in years (shame on me ...) but that will soon change! ;)
  17. £340 inclusive of delivery. This is for the three panel set (ie, L-light, middle panel, R-light).
  18. That's DTA (Netherlands) and not me (DTA UK). But if it makes it easier I'm happy to facilitate the transaction. Regards, Dan
  19. Hi Pete, All bulbs are currently in stock - give me a shout on 07044016586 for quick dispatch! Regards, Dan
  20. Yes there is and it is dead easy. A'PEXi filters are so-called "dry type" filters meaning the filter media is not soaked in any type of oil. This makes it very easy to clean as all you need to do is run it under a luke warm tap and gently brush any big particles off the wire mesh with a soft brush (don't apply too much pressure as this will most definitely ruin the filter media). Allow the filter to dry out completely and reinstall. The drying out part is very important as you don't want any water droplets to hit the AFM element. DO NOT APPLY ANY TYPE OF FILTER OIL AFTER CLEANING THE FILTER - THIS WILL RUIN IT! Job done! ATB Dan
  21. Yes, it's perfectly legal to drive a foreign registered car with foreign license plates in this country. I believe you can do so up to 6 months before having to either (a) take the car out of the country (and then come back) or (b) register for UK plates (will require SVA, etc, etc ...) My father has been the Dutch ambassador to Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) for three years, got placed back to Holland for a short duration of 9 months and drove his (private) car on Saudi diplomatic plates for the first 6 months before acquiring Dutch plates. Should have seen the faces of the public because the car has completely blacked out windows and is armoured - I think "terrorist" sprung to mind. He was frequently stopped by the police who checked the documentation - never had a problem. Never had a ticket either as they couldn't copy the registration plate details into their hand held units! :) He's now taken the car to Dubai for the next three years. cheers, Dan
  22. No, none of them do. You can buy the bonnet pins separately and perform the necessary modifications to the bonnet to fit them.
  23. Ok - here's info on what is happening: DTA-Motorsport (Netherlands) has good relations with VIS Europe and I will be working off the back of that relationship. What is going on right now is that I am negotiating with VIS Europe to become an official reseller of their kits here in the UK. However, as there are already various companies in the UK who are licensed to sell VIS kits there is a process that needs to be followed. This can take up to two weeks and negotiations just got under way this past Tuesday. If everything goes according to (my) plan then VIS will do drop ship items for me directly to the customer. That way the customer doesn't have to pay for two lots of transportation costs. I can not (at this time) comment on prices but will make that information available as soon as I know the deal between DTA (UK) and VIS (EU) will go ahead - I will post in the DTA section of the traders forum. Have a look at the attached pics. There are currently two types of carbon fibre bonnets available from VIS. The Invader style has one large opening at the front which sits approximately over the radiator. The bonnet pins shown in the pic are not part of the VIS bonnet - they were added afterwards. The Techno R bonnet has three openings - one over the radiator and two over the strut supports. Those of you who were at JAE this year will have seen the latter bonnet installed on Eric's (Lymon) car (as seen in the pic). There are rumours that a third style is under development but I haven't been given any information on this so can't confirm that this is true. So, keep your eyes peeled on the DTA-Motorsport section of the traders forum over the next two weeks for more information. All the best, Dan
  24. The brake reservoir cap on the 300 is the same as almost all other nissans so the main dealer is your best bet. HTH Dan
  25. Hi Syed, If you can be a little patient then I may be able to help you. I should soon know whether or not I'll be permitted to become an official reseller of VIS Racing carbon fibre bonnets (in the UK that is). Should be another couple of weeks before I know for sure and will keep you informed of the outcome. Cheers, Dan PS - how's the ECU working out for you?
