  1. It is not about loosing your national identity. None of the current member states have lost their identity. They still have a national government (albeit ultimately governed by Brussels), they each produce their own Euros, etc. Changing your currency doesn't mean you've lost your identity. As far as I'm concerned the British "identity" isn't much to write home about - chavs, extremely weak imigration policy, Gordon Brown ... need I go on?! ;) You can be a united group of nations yet still have an individual identity and therefore you'd still be able to be a patriot. Dan
  2. I don't really care much for international politics, etc but this gets my back up. The unification of Europe is something which will benifit all member states in the long run (I know, this is a highly contested point but bear with me on this). Standardisation of currency, government and also measurement is integral to the success of the EU as a whole. The UK, being physically located very near to the EU can not afford to continue isolating itself from the rest of Europe by refusing to conform. We're not using the Euro as a currency, now we're not using the metric system either, I could go on ... What the UK is doing is wanting to be part of the EU but at the same time not wanting to play by the rules. And what really gets me is that the UK is getting away with it by means of all sorts of "exception" policies. What is actually happening is that the economic model is changing from a European centric model to something that resembles the US model. So, the way I see it, if the UK continues along this chosen path not only will it isolate itself from the EU (think trade sanctions, etc) but it will slowly become part of the US  Now, I ask you - what would you rather want? Oh, before anyone asks, I'm not British - I'm Dutch ;)
  3. Nismos are a reputable brand and of very good quality. It'll be £545 for a set of six injectors and associated seats/gaskets. Dan
  4. Hi, Check the "suspect" bulb on other ballast wired up to the other side of the car (meaning, if the suspect bulb is currently wired up on the driver side then wire it up on the passenger side using the other ballast). This will help determine whether it is (a) the bulb, (b) the ballast (although by your own description it doesn't appear to be that) or © the car's electrical wiring. I don't think you got the kit through me but if you need a replacement H3 bulb quick I have several in stock (provided they use the same connectors). HTH Dan
  5. Hey Dan, If you're looking at new injectors I can help source Nismo 550's (or larger). Don't forget to get a suitable chip as well (I've got a DTA-Motorsport 550cc manual transmision performance chip coming available for sale in a day or so). Can also source a 300 Degree fuel rail and associated fitting kit which will make fitting larger injectors a doddle (plus facilitate easy upgrade in the future). Just planting a thought or two ... ;) LOL Cheersio! Dan
  6. having had the misfortune of dealing with Euro Car Parts I would recommend people to approach them with caution. On three separate occassions I ordered very specific parts which, according to their computer system, were in stock. Upon arrival they turned out to be nasty copies and very poorly fitted. Took me three months to get my money back from them. Not saying all their parts are suspect but please approach with caution. Regards, Dan
  7. In a way, yes. They shine the headlights into a device, measure how far out of centre they are and then manually adjust the headlights. Regards, Dan
  8. Tom - Best to take the car to your local MOT centre. They charge me a fiver for the privilege. However, you may find that the adjuster internals are shagged and that you can't alter the bulb position. Don't ask my why but Nissan, in their infinte wisdom, decided to use plastic cogs in the beam adjusters. These will obviously perrish over time and I have yet to see a 15~17 year old Zed in which the adjusters still work. If yours are broken you can get replacement adjusters from Nissan - they are quite cheap - or you can buy metal replacement cogs and fix the adjusters yourself. Give me a call if you want information on the DIY route as I've got part numbers and instructions to hand. Alternatively, park your car on a level surface approximately 7 meters from a wall. Measure the vertical hight from the ground to the top of you headlights (easier said than done) and mark that hight on the wall using chalk, marker pen, masking tape, whatever. Now turn your lights on and make adjustments until the top of the beam sits just below the mark on the wall. This is a crude DIY method and should only be used for rough adjustments. I still advise you to go to a MOT centre. All the best, Dan PS - even with the headlights adjusted correctly you'll find people flashing you because the lights are so much brighter (300% brighter in fact). It makes it look as if you're on full beam. Just ignore them ... ! LOL
  9. Behind Horizon: As we've now established the pads I have been quoted WILL fit your rear calipers. They are very dear though at £136.55 (delivered). Let me know if you want a set and I'll order them in. Cheers, Dan
  10. Thank you very much for that info! That's more than I got out of my Ferodo supplier! Cheers mate :duffer: Dan
  11. That would be useful Rich - thanks. Did you fit the pads? Thanks! Dan
  12. Yeah, would you believe that there are about 3 Zeds within a 5 mile radius from where I live but only 7 scoobies. Unfortunately they are all pre-1999 which use slide calipers at the rear.
  13. Yes, so I've been told as well. I have been given a part number for the rear calipers but upon further investigation the same pad is used for Subaru Imprezza 2-pot calipers. So, if anyone knows whether those and the Z32 rear calipers are the same - please let me know. Cheers, Dan
  14. Car was on finance ... Yes, that is one heck of a sexy looking car! And aparently well put together to boot! Can't wait for one of my Lambo customers to take delivery of his (in November) - black with contrasting cream/grey interior. Will of course blag a ride asap! For her driving talent I do respect her but has no media/presentation skills to speak of. She was an instructor at age 17! Imagine a chauvenistic 30-something wide-boy know-it-all signing up to a race course and having to take instructions from a 17 year old girl! Marvelous!
  15. Give me an hour or so to contact my Ferodo supplier. I'm sure I've seen rear pads for the Z32 but they may well be for Brembo caliper fitment of the R33GTR upgrade. Alternatively I can highly recommend Porterfield pads which are superb for fast-road & track usage. Rear pads come in at £65 delivered. Not in stock at the moment but due in the next ten days. Dan
  16. That one's back at the factory getting repaired. From what I've been told you could by a small house for the cost of this repair! Oh, and the insurance isn't paying out on this one either as it wasn't the owner who was driving at the time ...
  17. Don't like the programme, in particular the way it is filmed - all the flashy images which prevent you from seeing the actual car for more than a split second, or the presenters. VBH just squeels nonsense, Tom Ford needs a haircut and some decent clothes and Needell (although the man can drive) has this annoying urge to ALWAYS get a car sideways - that is not the point of whether a car handles well or not under NORMAL circumstances. And what's the deal with this Johnny guy who runs a Merc on chipfat ... like anyone cares! Recorded it and watched just the Veyron bit this morning and as expected he has to get it sideways ... Was more interested in seeing the production facility and marketing suite ... very classy! Interesting fact about the Veyron (and incidentally not picked up by FifthGear) is that 27 Veyrons have been sold to UK customers (seventeen of which have now been delivered) which makes it the biggest Bugatti market in the world! There may be more Veyrons on the road in Dubai (32 at last count) but the majority of these were delivered to the various Emirates and not to Dubai itself. How do I know this? I know the sole UK Bugatti representative quite well ... Anyway - it is/was a crap programme and always will be. Rant over ;) ...
  18. Hi SPEEDY_S, Tried to PM you but your inbox is full. I can also see that you haven't been on the forum since July so the chance that you'll be reading this is fairly remote. However, on the off-chance that you do see this - can you please send me the Porterfield brake pads you received from Smithy some months ago. Phone me on 07044 016586 for delivery details. I really do need that set ASAP please. To anyone who knows how to get in touch with SPEEDY_S: would you mind passing this message on please. Much obliged, Dan
  19. I went from stock 16" alloys with 225/50R16 and 245/45R16 tyres to 19" alloys with 235/35R19 and 265/30R19 tyres. This resulted in the car sitting roughly 25mm higher despite the rolling diameter of the wheels being roughly equal. I've got some AVO lowering springs to go on but need to find the time to get it done!
  20. I've just responded to your post in my DTA section regarding this but thought I'd post it here as well in case you missed the other one. I can get you a GReddy oil pressure sandwhich plate for around £65 plus £5 postage (depends on the exchange rate at the time of your order). It has two connection points for various sender units. I don't normally have these items in stock but can order them in if you wish. Let me know if I can help. Regards, Dan
  21. No idea mate but if you're after some excellent shocks I've got a full set of KYB-AGX adjustables in stock. £305 incl. delivery. Dan
  22. He'll be back around the 30th IIRC. Regards, Dan
  23. Have sent you a PM. Can do you a full set of belts for £26 delivered which is roughly 1/2 the price of when ordering through Nissan. Please let me know if I can help. Regards, Dan
  24. Need to know whether you car is: JDM/UK TT/NA U/D pulley or stock Year I have stock of all belts so can help with that as well. Cheers, Dan
  25. oops - sorry, didn't think that's what you meant ... Not sure what bulb is inside the hazard switch so can't help with that I'm afraid ... Cheers! Dan
