Advice on paddle clutch slipping
I have a three plate carbon clutch rated at 1500 BHP and they said it needed running in for 1000 miles before doing any drag starts. Had it in for over a year and done 5000 miles it's supper smooth, never slips and has hardly worn at all. You can take the starter off and measure the plate thickness. Well wort the extra cost.

ZXTT Wont Start P2!
Quote:- "When the throttle pedal is pressed there is a buzzing sound from the back of the engine half way down any ideas." Sounds like something being controlled by the throttle position switch. At the back of the engine there are two solenoids that control the valve timing. The Exhaust gas recirculation valve (vacuum controlled no solenoid to buzz) and the idle control system. Can you pinpoint the buzzing more accurately? Use a tube one end to your ear like a doctors stethoscope.

Rear axle offset. Why??
My car is equal did you get this car measured at the same place as the other one you had?

Starter motor stud thread
The end screwed into the casting is a M10 x 1.50 (standard meteric) but I thick the outside end is metric fine 1.25 or 1.00 pitch so a die will cost a bit more. I fitted allen bolts in it makes getting the stater off easier.

Help ZXTT wont start
Take the plugs out and see if they are wet. If you have been trying to start it for some time they should be well wet by now. If not your not injecting any fuel in. If they are flooded you need to replace them or dry them out carefully with a blowlamp.

Need help with traction control.....
You can set any channel to any wheel in the programming interface. Using the laptop graph part of the program. Hard acceleration the two fastest wheels are the back. Slow sharp turns the slowest two wheels will be the inside.

Missfiring part 3....
A cheap emergency 100% good fix for really bad standard injector connections. Cut the old ones off and push the electrical connectors out. Throw the connectors and save the plastic cover. Using some of the thinnest type speaker connectors make some new injector extension leads. Solder the leads to the cut ends of the injector wiring and insulate. Thread the new connections completely through the old plastic cover. Clean the pins on the injectors and using long nose pliers carefully reconnect the leads then slide the plastic cover down into its normal position. JOB DONE GOOD AS NEW CONNECTION

Big End Shells
If the wear is due to high mileage then the mains will be worn as well. Before you do mega miles in order to save the crank I would plan a full strip down. There would also be some benefit from fitting new piston rings at the same time.
-
Big End Shells
Nissan donot do oversize shells for the z32 any more. If the crank needs grinding you have to use aftermarket shells. The four grade sizes available from Nissan are all covered by a few thou and allow them to run close tolerances by using selective assembly. The standard crank and shells are so good that a propperly maintained engine with 150,000 miles will usually still be within tolerance on the crank pins and one of the four grade size shells will make it almost as good as new.
-
Big End Shells
The shells are colour coaded on the edges. If you have not mixed them up and can see the colour you can replace like for like. Also the as new grade sizes are stamped on the number 5 counter weight of the crankshaft and each rod bigend. You have to add the two marked grades to get the rquired shell size. This is not the best way to do it but unless you have accurate measuring equipment and skills its all you can do yourself.

racelogic set up
I have some 300zx setups on my laptop (when I can dig it out) others can try if they wish? My interface pages are different to those posted what age is that one. I think my one is mark2 about 2004/5. I'v had hours of fun playing with setting and testing using the built in graf data log, anyone with racelogic should learn how to use it. The setup you need will depend on the power level of your zx. The data log can also be used to find the problem if you have miss firing.

Have you got the wheel sensors setup to 46 front and back?

Dead Z
Hi Pete Open your boot take the mats out and you will hear the pump if its running when you crank it over.
-
Dead Z
Could still be fuel because the pump gets full battery volts for a second at start up then the pump controller changes the path to earth. To test it jump wire the pump to the battery so its running all the time and see if it starts. Check you get the correct wires at the pump you don't want to send full battery power down the fuel level gauge sender a spark in the tank may dent the pavement below the car!!!!!

Petrol Tank Straps
I used some wood on a trolly jack to drop the tank and slide it back. Then you can get the front bolts out
-
Petrol Tank Straps
You have to take the back bumper off then it's easy. The bolts are loctited from new so you will need a big strong bar on the socket. The nuts are welded in place. After removing if you have a welder you can cut the ends off and weld in a new strap for about a fiver. Check the tank under the straps it could be rusted through. If you know what you are doing you can soft solder a copper patch on any small holes.

Need bigger brakes!!! please help
I have 350Z front discs and my standard z32 calipers on home made spacers with yellow stuff pads OK from cold very good when hot.

Pipes Under The Throttle Bodies ??
Yes I have them capped on my car
-
fitting race harness - 2+2
Don't use the rear belt holes they are way to low. I fitted my harness to a roll cage bar. If you do not have one you will need to drill some holes as high up as you can. Mind all the pipes and wires underneath. Because I sprint / hill climb in a road going class I had to keep the rear seat not that you can use it!!!

Larger actuators
On the question you started with use the small (higher capacity) HKS actuators. With the big ones you will have fitting problems they will not hold the boost you want very well and you cannot easily balance both sides.
