  1. just noticed this thread.... is there any track time still going?
  2. Can't miss my zed, it's green noisy and was an ironing board on the back.
  3. Entry was £4 for an adult, with all of it going to charity, I think it's wrong for anyone to profit from the resale of the tickets, saw an adult ticket sell for £92 last night I do think they should have said paul walker & roger rodas, as they both had alot to do with the charity, and held alot of events out of their parts shop.
  4. Yeah I'm going, and running on the strip too. Although I'm not too sure now it's sold out that my zed won't embarrass me in public
  5. Sorry force of habit my old ones were autos. I ment bhp. Will be interested to see how the z1 throttle bodies help, as I was thinking of doing that soon too
  6. It's my design, but it's similar to the z1 ram intake I have injen hard pipes, and the maf and filter cones straight off the hard pipe each side, putting a filter where the smic would be on a tt. Had it left over from one of my tt's, noticed an increase in throttle response My na had 236rwhp on a std map and a japspeed exhaust, with a flat power curve from 3k to redline
  7. Found the fault, one of the mafs was giving no Voltage and the selin was getting confused, and giving strange signals to consult, bodged a single intake on and now it runs fine Was a pain to find as had to take the bumper off to get the intake pipes back on to a single intake then tried each one, Consult flagged the faulty one as soon as it was connected Thanks for help everyone
  8. What are the symptoms of timing jumping? Just ask because It had a new belt, pulleys and Tensioner about a month ago, Don't think it can be as it runs with mafs disconnected even when warm
  9. Been out with the zed in the rain today, borrowed consult from work Started rough, but did clear and idle for a short time till it got warm and it stalled the refused to start again... Ran tests with consult its missing on all 6 cylinders Mafs and filters were wet and are drying now, Consult said it was running rich on start up whilst cold, Not sure where to go now
  10. thanks, my na's a '95 already has a s2 ptu, but that sounds exactly like what my zeds doing. not sure i have a sppare but will get rumaging in my spares boxes.
  11. thanks, i have a custom intake fed by a selin dual maf computer my filters are litterally the other side of the splash guards, and have had alot of rain. will have to take my bumper off to get to them but will try cleaning both filters and mafs, better go borrow consult from work to get rid of the error codes too.
  12. we hopefully not FUBAR last night i pulled onto my road and went to park and the engine cut out.... started it then it did it again.... got it start then stay started but it wouldn't idle kept dropping to sub 500 rpm, then stalled again, with the 2 afm's disconnected it held an idle, i have ecu faults of temp sensor (past fault and fitted a new sensor last week) and afm (but only once id disconnected them) once started it ran ok up the road just once stopped it stalled again, went back out this morning, started first turn of the key, still really rough idle, stank of fuel, now wont rev, hesitating coughing splutting the works.... disconected the afms again nothing disconected the yellow acc plug no difference. about a week ago, it did get very wet in a puddle, but has ran ok since being dried out. any suggestions?
  13. Such a shame, always liked his films And the fast and the furious films were the thing that got me into modified cars Rip Paul Walker
  14. Thanks Jeff, I'm fitting Nissan parts but the part number for the Na. Bits was no longer avaliable wanted to check . Could order the tt bit
  15. doing my cambelt next week but are na and TT belts, tentions and water pump different? got different numbers on the system but most kits say they do both??? thanks.
  16. after lots of head scratching.... it was the u joints...:headvswal.... dont know where all the grease i put on them went but good spray and my steerings back... serves me right for thinking i could rule them out.. on to the next set of faults now lol....
  17. does the power steering have its own signal for speed? as both the speedo and ecu read the correct speed all the time. wasn't bothering me, but as its started being more common is starting to.... any one know how hard it is to change the speed sensor in the box? might do it anyway to eliminate it.
  18. well it fixed its running problem itself.....:confused1: but still on occasion gets confused and idles at 1600-2000 rpm when warm, then after a while goes back to normal... but thats a problem for another day.... i keep getting intermittent heavy steering. used to be for a couple of turns every week or so. but recently its been a lot more common, originally thought i was cooking the fluid after it did it a few times round brands hatch, but has done it 3 mornings in a row from cold... the steering column has been off twice this year once when the sump was changed (dropped the subframe) and the other was fitting stainless manifolds. so in theory shouldn't be the uj as it was checked and greased both times. have check the rack solenoid under test conditions works as should. its got lightened pulleys and occasionally when really wet they slip very slightly but not in time with the heavy steering. fluid was changed recently. but did it before and after change. one thing i've noticed it the manifolds do look like they have been touching the column on occasions. which is strange...? any one else had this problem? any other suggestions on what to check? its a late NA, so no HICAS, converted speedo, the blitz r-vit reads the speed from the ecu, and is correct with conversion. so a bit lost now....
  19. i wonder what the legality of driving on the road would be? been searching the web cant find anything... its not very safe but there are cars in production with splitters and canards as std (viper ACR etc) is james bonnet carbon? any idea where i can get one?
  20. yeah i want one with vents in it to aid cooling, but need to do some research into which ones actually do aid cooling. its also why ive gone for 99 over early bumper as the air flow through them is better the 99 spec has already been cut ad modified before on the black one it had to be trimmed to fit the lrg intercooler.
  21. im in 2 minds about which route to take the front of my zed... its either 99 spec with fibreglass lip/ slitter or a 99 spec with a proper custom carbon splitter and canards. i have the 99 spec bumper and the fibreglass bit, and a large sheet of carbon, so either is possible. will be getting a carbon bonnet, and have a twinZ rear diffuser/bumper (thanks again mark :thumbup1:) and a very large spoiler. so its a function over form car really, so the proper splitter would work better as i have enough carbon to give it a complete flat front. i just like my over one as well. (this is used on tracks frequently) opinions please..... (dont be too harsh lol) my old zeds 99 spec and fibreglass bit: option 1.... (trail fitted would be blended on) not my zed but similar to what i want to do... option 2.... (but with the 99 spec bumper...) how it looks now. (don't laugh without the spoiler its suicidal, with just i am....:blushing:)
  22. in the light mine are the same colour. they do go a slight red, but you only really notice it from the inside.
  23. they are not flat, they match the shape (curve) of the window, and they are slightly flexible too. cant see too clearly but can see the colour difference. will still take a proper picture tomorrow.
  24. was too dark to take one tonight by the time i got out of work, but will take one in the morning.
