I`ve got both matey (auto and manual) they are BOTH great boxes when running right :) but!!! I felt a dramatic difference when I converted from Auto to manual in my TT , it feels more of a drivers car in manual and definitely feels a LOT quicker!!! maybe its only a few tenths but those few tenths surely make the difference..... the same car before the auto swap absolutely destroyed my mates M3, so both are capable of some stunning drag times, I suppose it down to the driver preference!! but I would never swap my vert to a manual, just love the auto too much in that particular car :)

Thanks also mate, Chris does need support and he would get it by just coming clean... despite a few member issues on both clubs, we really do have a strong community, and if i was ever in real need of support I know where I would come... I just want to say , I don't want to cause any trouble at all or any more heart ache for Chris and I only commented on the other club as it was an already active thread, lets see what happens tomorrow and thanks again to all :)
