Right guys .. This is doing my head in . I've been doing quite a bit of research lately on zed performance parts and projects as i want idea's of what is best and isn't for my build. In almost every forum i've been registered on i keep/kept on hearing about how the americans exagerate on their bhp numbers and so many people critize them in the u.k that i started to believe we in the U.k were right. However after searching i noticed that in the u.k theres barely any parts for the zed lets say .. U.k made? Regarding turbos,injectors,manifolds, ECU managements etc ... mostly comes from the americans and the only ' big' thing that i know of is the Emerald system. Yet people still critize them ? Seems to me that if it wasnt for them we'd be completely lost in terms of ways to get these products. As for the bhp numbers , i never quite understood 100 percent why people say they are rubbish ? i've read so many times the words ' whats your horsepower? and please dont say yank rubbish bhp ', i mean i've read in some places that its because the dynos are different or something , but the thing is even though it seems they have these large numbers like 900+ all the time , they do have the quarter miles that prove it ? I saw that specialty z made 499 RWHP with stock turbos ? of course with alot of supporting mods but why do we say the max is more or less 400 at the fly? I used to always critize them too tbh lol from reading so much stuff on the internet etc but this is really starting to confuse me now , im yet to understand why we're right and they're wrong. And btw im not american guys,so please dont hate on me LOL . Just thought this would be a good thread maybe : )

i agree tbh ^^ , i've got one of these and never knew they were rare until i saw a few threads, however i cant seem to understand why they go for silly prices?

Hey guys, as i like the bbs alloys i've got but im not happy with how they look right now im going to refurb them next week in Gold. However i cant seem to find a nice bright gold colour does anyone know a place to get it or a colour code ? I was thinking a gold very similar to the one ultralite make as i dont want a dark gold. cheers guys

The zed is a great car and the fact you dont see one everytime you go out is a bonus, a tidy zed with 400bhp will no doubt be better than the m3 performance wise anyday however it is a ' new car' and the feel of it is obviously going to be completely different , it's up to you if you can afford to run both or if you just dont like the zed. Imho you have to be passionate about zed's to own one, otherwise you will just lose the feeling with it. So its up to you if you like the car or not . As i've previously said, m3's just dont 'touch' me at all even though its obviously a good car.Completely different owning a nice zed , most people just go ' wow nice car' and the beemers are just too common to be noticed nowadays.

So i decided to have a different day with family so we decided to go to oxford as we had never been there visiting, to start with amazing city , very nice views , friendly people although very busy and pubs were all full lol ! anyways i told pablito ( paul ) i was going there today so we'd meet up and have a chat . In all honesty i can say this guy is a top top bloke !! :D very friendly person and great for a laugh , really enjoyed this afternoon . hope to meet more people from the club who have a great friendly spirit like he has , all i can say is ... i cant wait for Jae + the booze mate !! haha:rockon: like we mentioned today, its not only about the zx itself its about the club spirit !! :gunsmilie:

Funny you posted this thread lol just called sky to change from bt and they're coming on monday. im sick of bt the speed is horrible, the price is more than double of what i will pay with sky for a higher speed and unlimited . Not sure how sky broadband is but never had any problems with the tv so i hope the internets the same lol

imho its quite a good thread , seeing peoples views on the zed is a good thing as long as its friendly chat kind of . i also cant understand why zeds in the Uk are the cheapest in europe ? maybe cause they made the uk spec ? .. not sure but theres also uk supras and they're way more expensive hard to understand tbh , i think it has become a trend of zeds being a fairly cheap car. in portugal a good zed goes for almost 20 thousand euros, about 17k or so . that zed would be considered an absolute bargain at the eyes of zed lovers in europe. its true we cant change the market but as a club if we price our cars higher and think differently about them, the reality is we wont see so much cheap crap in the long run .

stella if i was to buy a 13k zed i probably wouldnt buy that one neither but thats down to personal taste but im just simply not putting the price down thats all mate. and that orange one in that link is stunning never seen that one ever or heard about it . :p and not to mention your bmw is secretly twin turbo aswell ! hence why you own everyone on the road lol :angel:

For around 3/4 years i have bought nearly every edition of banzai and japanese performance every month and in all these years if theres 3 zeds in them that have more than a 2 page article its too much including Silverbullets zed. It annoys me as we look at our club and there are so many lovely examples of zeds and people just slate the car in general outside this club without having any idea what car it is . Just shows the editors of both magazines much rather have a two page subaru impreza article than a zed one because they think nothing of our cars in general and its simply annoying. We all know how complicated the engine is for people who arent mechanics and even for mechanics its complicated!That doesnt mean its not a fun car. Also for the ' unreability' comments about the zed are beyond rubbish imo its as realiable as any other twin turbo jap car, you just gotta take care of it , the ones ruining the zed imagine is the cheap rusty nasty ones ! And again i for one am really glad the prices are going up !

gonzo you're right about the silly ads but if an owner invests 30k on the car why would he want to give it away ? everyone knows you will never get near anything you spend on modified cars, this is what im saying other clubs dont say this about their cars, there's silly ads about every single make i dont think in general the high prices should get slated. Im still hoping that someday the zed gets the recognision it deserves and unless the prices go up that will never happen .

Im not saying Bmw's are crap im saying i simply would never swap my zed for any of them and i was talking about people with M series in particular. I have seen a few owners and they were all the same cause of the 'M' badge and IMHO zeds are much funner than them and the reason i was mentioning bmw's was because of the price comparison between that zed and the m5. As for the price of the car , im still saying its worth it . if it was for sale for 5-6 k people would say its a bargain cause its stunning.

Maybe its just me but i just cant see the appeal that BMW's give. i personally think 80 or more percent of people who drive m3's ( no offence stellaz not you lol ), m5's etc are just cocky and think they're ' bigger' than anyone else in the road. I would never sell my zed for whatever bmw there is . As for the prices imo jimmer is right , whatever zed comes up for more than 10 k people always tend to slate it, no wonder on supra/skyline forums they mock zed owners , not even zed owners themselves respect the prices that are put on our cars. I know i wouldnt sell my zed for 10k right now , the money i've wasted on it has surpassed it and will be even more soon and what about the time and ' love' i've put on it for the last 3 years? No way id sell it for 10k and yet im almost certain if i put it up for that price id be slated.So when anyone tries to slate a price you should see the money and work that has been put on it tbh . Not having a go at anyone at all but i think we as a club shouldnt do it, i for one am quite sick of people driving supra's single/twin turbos (example) looking at us like we drive a bloody chavved up corsa. Looking at mac1 zed or madmax how much do you think its worth it ?! im pretty sure they wouldnt even think of selling it for 20k + and thats considered 'high' by almost everyone in the jap world . Anyways just my opinion .
