With regards to driving on German autobahns I believe there are no restrictions but there are advisory limits. If you are involved in an accident resulting from driving above these advisory limits I am under the impression that your insurance is then invalid and you are personally responsible for all claims against you. Your choice.................... PS From experience (3 years residence in Germany) it doesn't matter how fast you drive on an Autobahn, there is always someone with a car that's faster than yours!!!

Mine is my daily driver - a round trip to work of some 18 miles a day, get approx 22-23 mpg and looking forward to summer when I can get the targas ooot.
