depends on what their contracts say really..some have automatic bonuses others are linked to performance....bankers or not i'd be pretty p1ssed off if someone said oh because of this years downturn you cant have your bonus earned from last year...also its poor to describe them as bonuses some are really sales based commissions...i.e you bring in £500m worth of business you get paid your % as to how badly the work performs later is of no consequence....imagine the laugh if cars sales were paid commissions based on how relaible the cars perform

M&S took action against the taxman, who charged £3.5m VAT on teacakes between 1973 and 1994, after having them wrongly classified as biscuits. HMRC offered to refund £88,440. In April 2008 the ECJ said that Marks and Spencer was entitled to a full refund, and on Wednesday the conclusion was not challenged in the Lords. Lord Walker said the ECJ ruling left open some matters for the UK courts but that the customs commissioners had decided not to pursue them. "After 13 years of litigation, we are pleased that this matter is now finally concluded," the company said in a statement.

this is how it works.... you show some interest in the car / boat / bike....can even be a flat to rent the owner says i'm not sure you can afford it i need to see some proof so they ask you to go to western union / moneygram and pay £1000 or similar to a friend or member of your family and fax the seller a copy of the reciept as proof you can afford it now youre thinking if its paid to my friend family how can i lose as only the friend family can cash it....right....?......err wrong you see the moment you copy your western union recipet and fax it to them they go to a friendly little western union office....the sort you might see in a corner shop which happens to have no cctv etc....and provide some fake id pretending to be your friend / family...they get the cash and walk out now youre thinking well i'm covered under wester union insurance.....err nope because you invalidated the insurance by sending a copy to someone...its like giving away your PIN...you have no come back....forget phoning the cops...as per the little western union branch they use will have no cctv records and will shrug their shoulders and say well the id was shown we paid out....i wouldnt mind betting some of these outfits have a nice little back hander from the fraudsters too you been warned folks cheers chris
