  1. its poo mate. nearly 5 thousand out of work in my area.:( http://www.thisisgrimsby.co.uk/news/Worrying-jobless-stats-area/article-692337-detail/article.html
  2. you'll only notice a slight difference between 720p/1080p, it all depends on what your viewing. If it's normal tv, then you'll notice no difference at all unless your watching an HD broadcast as normal cable/sky/freeview is not broadcast in hd unless your viewing it through an "upscaler".
  3. i have 4 cameras around my house as i had loads of trouble with kids on my utility room roof when i first moved in. i brought a cheap setup from ebay which came with the 4 cameras and a controller. all cameras have an inbuilt pir sensor and microphones so you can hear the little f*****s aswell. I have a small alleyway down the side of my house which unfortunately caught something on tape that i didn't really want to see.... My neighbours teenage kid getting rather intimate with his missus who was bent over the alley fence! i just can't help but smile at him and laugh to myself when i see him! Especially after i told him that i had a timelapse video recorder and a hidden camera pointing down the ally! the look on his face was priceless!
  4. i buy the cheapo microwave meals from asdas 5 for £4! I was going out to the local burger van at dinner time and used to spend between £5-£10 a day on food (depending how hungry i was).
  5. if you look at the below post, look to the left of the hicas solenoid and you'll see a bleed nipple. thats the first one you need to do, and as OneShot says, the second one is on the underside of the gearbox. http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26120&highlight=clutch+reservoir
  6. you should have a bleed nipple on the drivers side wing also, unless it's been removed! you need to bleed the top one first, then bleed the bottom one. you need to repeat the process 2-3 times to make sure all the air is out. it's a pain in the ass to do and you need 2 people to do it.
  7. When i first start my car it stinks of petrol. it lasts for a couple of minutes then dissapears. i don't think i've got a petrol leak as i haven't seen any little petrol puddles anywhere (not that i would as it evaporates fairly quickly) and it only seems to do it when i start the car up from cold. anyone got any ideas or had a similar problem to this?
  8. thanks for the help mario. im almost there with the remote start. it starts then stops, then starts and stops, then starts a third time and stops again, so i know the starting side of things is all cool, the problem is, i need to find which wire it is i need to tap into in the car so that the sensing wire from the alarm knows when the engine is running. I think it should work if i tap into the battery light but what colour and where is the best place to find this wire?
  9. nice lil setup you've got there. I've got a similar room, but mine is behind a hidden door!! in my little "boys" room (as the missus calls it), i have a main server pc which, is hooked up to 4 other pc's around the house, an Xbox(modded to a full blown media centre), xbox360, ps2 and HD Dvd player which as all hooked up through a pioneer Dolby dts cinema decoder and displayed on my 120" projector screen! I'll put some pictures up soon if you would like to see.
  10. Im about ready to rip my hair out with my alarm. got everything fitted and working all except the remote start. It was a cheapo ebay remote start jobbie, which i've fitted loads for myself and friends etc in the past. It's not one of the older ones where you have to wrap a wire round an ht lead so it detects if the car is running. this one works of the oil pressure warning light.... no problem.... except the z doesn't have one!! :confused:The instructions were a little bit dodgy (crap translation from chinese to english i assume!), but everything is wired up as specified... apart from the oil light detector. it says to wire it up to the oil warning light(+). so by this, am i correct in assuming it needs connecting to a live feed when car is not running/cranking, but needs to be an earthed feed (negative) when the engine is running? does the Z have anything like this that i could tap into? really need to get this all sorted as my (bodged) repair job on my door lock has broken again, so i have to unlock the car from the passenger side to get in.
  11. i nearly pissed my pants when i saw this! :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/VTec-Dyno-hamster_181513.htm
  12. Fiat Cinquecento sporting/abarth?!?
  13. i know what your saying Ron, i used to have a celica gt4 that blew the big end bearings. ended up putting a new (apparently reconditioned) engine in that blew after 500 miles. then ended up like a domino effect with things going wrong left right and centre. i dont want to fall into that trap with the Z as it is my daily driver and with my missus getting laid of before christmas, means almost all my wages are going to pay the bills so im left with very little to spend on the car on repairs. it just winds me up that i brought this off a guy who was a member of this site (so you would assume it was fairly well looked after:slap:) and asked him several times if there were any major problems or nasty suprises as i was travelling a hell of a way to come and get it (9h 30min round trip). i guess im just to trusting, but now im starting to regret it. I love the car and have done ever since my mate had one which he sold to Tizer on this site, and have been after one for quite a while but it's all starting to bring back memories of my gt4 that just ended up as a money pit. i hope it doesn't turn out that way but at the moment the list is growing and my finances are shrinking.
  14. i'll try giving that a go this weekend. thanks Ron. hope it is just a case of adjusting the rod and switches otherwise i may have to think about selling the car. to be honest i think i paid too much for it anyway, now with all the parts i may need to buy, i just think it might be easier for me to give up and sell it.
  15. i've had a problem since day one with the clutch pedal. it's been very sloppy and the bitting point was nearly in the carpet. i've tried bleeding it twice now, and although it is a lot better, it still feels very sloppy. I've also noticed that the clutch is now slipping in 4th and 5th gear. Is this all down to my sloppy clutch pedal or is my clutch on its way out? it's really starting to bug me as i seem to be finding problem after problem with this car. This is another thing that i cant afford to bloody do as im still trying to sort my springs and shocks out. starting to think i've brought a lemon:cry:
  16. you'll find that firefox release 2 is a lot faster than firefox release 3! don't know why but i downgraded back to version 2 as it was taking forever and a day to display webpages, even with my 10mb broadband connection. now back on firefox version 2 and it runs like a whippet on speed!
  17. crotchrocket... that sound to me like you've got a bit of malware or adware. it's a common problem that redirects you to a different website even though the google results will display what you searched for. id run a spyware checker like spybot etc just to see if you've got any infections.
  18. firefox mate. Internet explorer is riddled with security holes. firefox is a lot safer and a lot quicker.
  19. thanks Zairs, unfortunately i can't message anyone on the classified section as im not a subscribed member yet. i need to save all the cash i can at the moment to sort out the problems with my Z so can't afford to join just yet as it will put me back on my repair work, catch 22 situation i guess!
  20. nuts:cry:... okay mate, no problem. just didn't want to go ahead and fit my shocks only to find that a couple of days later the springs become available as i don't want to have to take them off again only to be refitted.... if you know what i mean!
  21. i think they should of used a Z... it would of been perfect!
  22. here's a set for ya matey http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KNIGHT-RIDER-FORD-MUSTANG-COBRA-GT-KITT-SCANNER-LIGHTS_W0QQitemZ370104736353QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item370104736353&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318
  23. being an ex subaru impreza owner, i can honestly say, yes the impreza does handle better then a 300zx, but there are key factors involved in this..... for a start an impreza is 4 wheel drive (obviously) so you get an even distribution of grip between the front and rear of the car allowing the driver to get better grip coming through the corner and onto the exit of the corner. Having said this, you normally find impreza drivers (myself excluded) are young and have little or no driving experience of high powered cars and will try and race anything and everything. I personally believe it is not down to the car but down to the driver.. it's all about having confidence in the ability of your car and knowing where your limits are and how far you can push them, unfortunately, far to many people drive beyond their limits and suffer the consiquences. just my 2 pence worth!
  24. i've seen the pilot episode for the new serious which that link has loads of clips from. To be fair, it is actually quite good, but the acting is a little cheesy! still worth watching for KITT though. You can buy those lights of ebay. i was gonna get a set and hook them up to my alarm so when my alarm is armed they would come on, but all my mates said that if i did that, they would disown me!!! they've already nicknamed me the Hoff as the think that my car looks like KITT!!!:wack:
  25. Hi mate can you email me at mrbusy@ntlworld.com. need to know what your doing with the springs as i've got a set of shocks on their way and don't want to fit them just yet if your gonna sell your springs!
