  1. oops, sorry, wrong section. can a mod move this to the no z related forum please.
  2. :eek::eek: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Driveway-to-small_548453.htm
  3. shocked me to funkysi, my mates got an s2000 an it does handle like it's on rails. excellent bit of driving by both of them:bow:
  4. just found this whilst randomly browsing the web. Respect to the honda.... he drives the nuts of that thing, but ultimately.... well.... watch it and see! http://videos.streetfire.net/video/nissan-300zx-vs-honda-on_116746.htm
  5. hmmmm.... well thats got me thinkin! i've got a set of bbs rs236 which a guy is selling the exact same ones on ebay at a buy it now price of £1895!!!! really must get them refurbed and sold so i can get a better set! to many spokes for me (makes it a pain in the rear end when cleaning and i think my missus is gonna cotton on soon to the fact that i've been using her toothbrush to clean them!)
  6. it really baffles me that someone can do such a shitty job on wiring and expect it to work properly! think i was more worried about having to walk home in the snow.... bearing in mind i was using my work warehouse to fit the alarm which is 16 miles away from where i live! could of ended up being a long cold walk!
  7. Well, i set out with all good intentions to get round to fitting my alarm at the weekend. It was only a cheapo ebay jobbie (with remote start). I've fitted probably 6-7 of these before so wouldn't normally of been a problem. So, off i started at 9am saturday morning. started stripping the panels off to get access to where i needed the wires to run only to find that there had been some sort of alarm fitted previously and had just been ripped out (found some ultrasonic sensors just flapping around in the doors behind the door cards!). I spent nearly all weekend repairing the dodgy wiring, which meant i didn't get the alarm finished! needless to say, i was p***ed off and got an earfull from the missus on saturday night when i got in at 9.30pm and told her id have to spend another day on it! just about got all the wiring repaired on sunday but again ran out of time so packed up at about 8pm. went to set off only to find that my car wouldn't rev past 2500rpm! so back to the garage i went. thought id check to see if i had knocked any wires from the ecu when i was poking around down there and to my horror i found that the apexi afc that is fitted (if you can call it that) was connected straight to the wires coming out of the ecu. now normally this wouldn't be a problem, but when i say connected, i mean wires cut, twisted together and then taped up with the smallest bit of insulating tape imaginable! 2 of the wires had worked free so i resoldered everything and 40mins later car was back to running normally again. upshot of it is, i've spent 2 days trying to put an alarm in and only got about 40% of it done! And i've just realised i dont like driving in the snow!
  8. im trying to, but i've not had the best of days and it's hard on the eyes sat in front of a computer screen all day designing bits and bobs for work. i didn't realise you had to be an A level student in grammer and english spelling to post on these forums.
  9. thanks Car.Mad. i did post up picks not so long back in the newbie section, thats why i thought people may have remembered the car! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=121068&page=2
  10. think i kinda walked into it anyway joely p! any news on the springs me ol fruit?
  11. sorry pete, yes, that is my car. i missed of the part when i meant to say it was my car in the opening sentence...... It's been a hard day!:slap:
  12. was just wandering if anybody knew anything about the car, and seems though matthew (the previous owner) had well over 500 posts, i assumed that somebody may have known him or the car! i'll get my coat!
  13. so i guess you guys know the car then?
  14. the guy i brought my car off said he was a member of this site so for the last 3 weeks i've been searching for his posts, then i stumbled across this:- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=63637
  15. it was my pleasure mate and i must say, That looks Fantastic! Glad you liked them bud! Was gonna try and make a little 300zx keyring for you but ran out of time! sorry i didn't get a chance to clean the edges up, but i was a little busy at work and wanted to get them out to you so you could get them fitted!
  16. sorry stevie. i think i posted this in the wrong section. It wasn't meant to be a "for sale" thread as such. i was just amazed at how much this guy wanted for the wheels. (obviously, twice as amazed when i realized they were the same as mine!) Personally, im not a great fan of the wheels and can't understand why somebody would pay that much when you can get a better looking set for half the price!
  17. or an electrode attached to your testicles so everytime the indicators flash you get a nice shock! bet you wouldn't forget to turn them off then! that is unless you enjoy that kind of thing!:smash:
  18. i put some pictures up on a previous post. they are on page 2 of the following link:- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=121068&page=2 obviously the centre caps are missing and the nuts are silver instead of gold but they are the same wheels.
  19. it's terrible news. i live in grimsby, which is about 20mins drive to s****horpe which is one of the plants they are making redundancies from. In the last 2 weeks 3 fairly big companies in the area have made large redundancies. i think over the last 2 weeks nearly 400+ people in my area have been made redundant. according to the local paper there are now 4,505 unemployed in grimsby alone now. we'll have no manufacturing plants left in the uk at this rate.
  20. im not keen on them myself, but they were on the car when i brought it and they are better then the standard rims (only just!). Im with you guys though, don't really like them and don't think they are suited to the car. Look better on bmw's etc. Gonna get them refurbed soon and see what i can get for them. think i have the added bonus that i have a staggered set (wider on the rear)
  21. Was randomly browsing on that well known online auction site, and i found my wheels. i nearly had a heart attack at the price the guy is selling them for! :shock:think im
  22. just a quick thought, are you Rca leads running down the same side as your power supply for your amps? Has been known to cause interference/humming noises in the past on cheaper rca leads. could also be a slight nick/or split in the rca cables that are causing it to short to earth causing interferance. i had a similar problem on an old bmw i had. took me 3 weeks to find the problem and it turned out to be a nick in the outer sheafing which was allowing the cable to short to the body. wrapped a bit of insulating tape round the nick and problem solved. May not be the same problem, but just a thought.
  23. okay, im still having problems with my clutch. the peddle has gone saggy again and the bitting point is probably 3-5mm of the floor with nearly 2" of free play at the top before it even thinks about doing anything. on my way home the other night, the clutch started slipping in 4th and 5th gear when giving it some beans. Is this all related to the bleeding process or is my clutch telling me it needs replacing.... bloody hope not as i can't afford to do it at the mo. im sure i read somewhere on the forum that the air in the clutch line problem can sometimes cause the clutch to slip, but i can't remember where i saw the post. is this correct, or am i going to have to sell my body to medical science to get some money for a new clutch?
  24. that looks awesome Neil. Well done mate!
