boot spoiler
im looking at taking of my standard/horrible rubber spoiler as its gone all saggy, what spoilers suit the rear end of the 300zx? are there any from different cars that look good? i don't want a great big picnic table sat on the back and im not a fan of the "highline" style spoilers, just something not overstated, something like Funkisi's, etc. Any ideas?

intermitant speedo
it has got a speed converter thingy on the back of the clocks. where abouts is the speed sensor located. i've just had a new clutch fitted and wandered if it had anything to do with the removal and refitting of the gearbox?

intermitant speedo
on a couple of occasions now my speedo has stopped working and with that my power steering. this only happens every now and again and is totally random as to when it does it. Can anyone shed some light on this problem and how i can cure it?

NZR Bit of advice needed
it's normally gearbox issues the mr2 suffers from... oh and bent rear subframes from over-zelous, under-experienced drivers who loose the back end and wack a curb. I had this problem on an mr2 i used to own. didn't notice the rear wheel was at an angle until i put larger rims on it. part from that, they are quite a solid and fun little car to drive.

AFC location
it needs to be in a place where it can be accessed easily so don't really want to put it behind the footwell near the ecu. Don't really want to put it in the glovebox as it means hacking the back to bits to run the cable through... besides, that would take up much needed room for my McDonalds handy wipes! lol!

AFC location
hey guys. Im getting fed up with my apexi afc thingamebob flapping around in my passenger footwell (it was like that when i brought the car, just shoved under the floor mat!). Unfortunately i can't mount it in the second cubby hole under the stereo as i have a 2 part kenwood stero in which takes up both din slots. I will be replacing the kenwood eventually to a single din flip out screen, which will give me the space to mount the Afc (and possibly my turbo timer), but i cant afford to get the new stereo just yet as i've just had to fork out on a new clutch and some shocks not so long ago. So, where can i mount it where it's not going to be in the way and wont involve any drilling or leaving holes all over my dashboard/centre consol? Any ideas?

recirc dump valves
i'll try and get a picture later in the week and post it for you guys to have a look at.

recirc dump valves
they don't make any noise at all.... well, not that i can hear, but then again, on all my previous turbo'd cars i've had vent to atmosphere dump valves so im used to a nice Woooshh or TShhhhhhh sound (my impreza dump valve used to sound like hannibal lecter made from silence of the lambs after the famous line "I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti"!). :D Im thinking of putting some atmospheric dump valves on as i miss the woosh noise! (im just a big kid at heart!):nana2:

recirc dump valves
Hi all, whilst randomly poking around the front of my car the other day, i noticed that the recirculating dump valves seemed to be blue anodised items. im guessing this would indicate that they are some aftermarket/upgrade. would i be right in thinking this or does the Z come as standard with some nice bling bling recircs fitted?

anybody know anything about these clutch kits?
hi Dunk, yeah, i had a look through their ebay shop. if i wasn't in a hurry for one, i think id order one as i can get it sent to my works parent site in the states as we have shipments that come in every 2 months from them, unfortunately, the shipment has already left so id have to wait for the next shipment, but i cant wait 2 months and i have a feeling that if i did buy it, and got it sent direct, then i would get clobbered with import tax etc! bloody thieving gypsy ******* government!
-
anybody know anything about these clutch kits?
thats a cracking idea Jim. I'll try sending some now and see if i get any response. Just having a look on the usa ebay site and it's bloody annoying! why can you buy a complete clutch kit for just over £130 delivered in yanky doodle land and pay nearly twice that in the uk? i guess it's just our crappy government arse raping the sellers with tax etc!

anybody know anything about these clutch kits?
hi Maz, I totally agree mate. had the same problem with my impreza that i had before the z. kept putting it of and when i did eventually get round to it, i had managed to weld my clutch plate to the flywheel! luckily enough i had already brought a lightened flywheel to go with the clutch! I don't want to have the same problem with the Z so im trying to sort out a decent clutch with as little expense as possible, but on the other hand i don't want to buy something that will wear out in a couple of thousand miles! HI Danny, have you fitted the clutch yet?
-
anybody know anything about these clutch kits?
just had an email back from the guy advertising the clutch on fleabay and this is the response:- "Yes it is a Techniclutch. It is circa 30% uprated and officially rated to 520NM of torque." okay.... so does that sound good, or does it sound like a load of steaming cow poo?!?!?
-
anybody know anything about these clutch kits?
Hi Dunk, i would rather get a full kit if a can afford one as i have no idea as to how the car was treated before me, and knowing my luck, if i just brought a pressure plate, id find that all the rest needs replacing!

anybody know anything about these clutch kits?
I've tried DTA and left a message with Jeff at zedworld, just waiting waiting back for a reply. think Dan at Dta quoted me just shy of £400 for an RPS clutch kit, but unfortunately a little bit out of my budget. I'll try SWZ in a little while. Thanks for the replies though Legrath.

anybody know anything about these clutch kits?
thats what i thought! im starting to get desperate for a clutch now. it's started slipping in second gear. I can push to £250 for a clutch kit (but that is a big push and on my limit due to financial circumstances), but need to get it sorted as soon as possible as the Z is my daily driver.

clutch advice
It is now definately confirmed that i need a new clutch. I dont want to buy a crappy one that is going to need replacing in a couple of months time! im really stretching my budget out and will pay up to £250 (at a push) for a decent one or if anyone knows where i can get a decent clutch kit for that price let me know as i've seen a few cheap ones on the internet (not ebay) but would rather be recommended a clutch than just go out and buy an unknown make and regret it! any help or advice or can someone point me in the right direction. my Z is nearly standard apart from air filter, exhaust, and an apexi afc thingy so im not running mental power!

looks like i need a new clutch
b****r! well my clutch problem are slowly getting worse. it started with a very saggy clutch pedal, which, after numerous attempts to bleed it have only slightly improved the clutch feel but not cured the problem. the other week, it started slipping in fifth gear, then 4th gear, and on my way home from work last night it has now started to slip in third gear. This couldn't have happened at a worse time as im nearly skint and need my car for transport 2 and from work (32 mile round trip). i've seen all the hype about the cheap "exedy" clutches on fleabay, but are they really that bad? my car is almost totally standard apart from a stainless exhaust, airfilter and AFC thingy (still running standard boost). im not planning on running extreme amounts of power, will probably only up the boost pressure a bit in the near future. i've had a scout around the net and found some clutch kits but i've never heard of the make! have any of you guys heard of these:- https://sslrelay.com/buypartsby.co.uk/clutch_kit_details.php?recordID=3198 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=120373173288 im looking at the cheapest possible solution so was even considering this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=150304119784 but again, i have read about all the hype over these being non genuine exedy clutches but im really struggling with money at the mo and need to get this sorted. gonna have to talk nicely with a couple of my mates to see if they can help me get the car up on a ramp to do the job with payment of beer and fags on offer! any advice or help would be gratefully appreciated guys!
