  1. Glad to hear it only happened a few mins away from home. I forgot to mention to you, i had been offered a complete prop from a long wheel base with a "nearly new" center bearing for £45+postage from a guy on ebay. I know the prop shaft is different but i think the bearing is the same (maybe someone on here can confirm??). I'll see if i can find the guys email address and forward it on to you buddy.
  2. Hi Dean, Shit, sorry to hear about the coupling going on the waterpump. I really had no idea it was on it's way out otherwise i would of said something to you. Hope you managed to get home okay buddy. I'll keep my eyes on the threads as id love to see the car again when all the bits that i never got round to sorting are all done. Hope you enjoy Zed ownership mate, always used to bring a big cheesy grin to my face whenever i took her out for a spin and im sure you'll be the same. Take care mate. Kind regards Lee
  3. Hi mate, it did cure the problem..... for a little while. i still get intermittent idling every now and again, but no where near as bad as before. it sometimes just hovers around 1200rpm then slowly drops down to about 800ish. Think my new problem is down to my thermostat playing up now though! Anyhoo, The sensor is number 14 on the pic on the post below. Nice and easy to get to aswell. just make sure you clean the connections on the plug before you put it back on. http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26120&highlight=clutch+reservoir
  4. thanks guys! will be having a few:duffer: tonight but not many as im still recovering from saturdays "few" drinks!
  5. i just put these wheels on mine last week. cost me £325 for the wheels on their own including postage then a further 250 odd quid for the tyres (got a mate who i can get tires off cheap!).
  6. hmmmm, but it only seems to do it out of the passenger side exhaust, which, from the other posts that if read through, seem to suggest turbo seals. i posted another thread up with the symptoms:- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=123947 im still uncertain if it is the turbo seals or something else as i have noticed just recently that it doesn't seem to be as quick as it should be, but it's not using any oil/water and holds a healthy 9psi boost.
  7. Im just weighing up my options at the moment as it may look like one of my turbos is on it's way out. The car is showing just over 92000 miles but i think only 5-10000 miles were done in the uk as its a jap import so probably about 70,000 kilometers on what looks to be the original turbos so it's kind of understandable i guess. I recently had the middle boxes removed from my exhaust and replaced with straight through stainless to mate up with the stainless rear boxes. I purposefully left the cats in due to all the horror stories about the turbo seals going, etc.. So, after doing the box removal, i now have a little white smoke coming from the passenger side exhaust. Luckily i already had the car booked in for tuesday 7th for a rolling road set up so gonna ask them about this. Now, assuming the worst, that my turbo seal has gone or is on it's way out.... what would be my best option, 1) get a second hand set and hope that they will last more than a couple of months, 2)buy a cheap second hand set, get them refurbed then re-fit them, 3) buy a cheap second hand set and get them sent off to be "hybridised"/re-built, or 4) buy an overhaul kit and re-furb it myself? What sort of prices would i be looking at for the above mentioned? im a little unsure what to do as this is my daily driver so can't be off the road for to long, and looking for the cheapest/best thing to do. Or failing any of those, does anyone know if there is a pair of "used but like new" hybrids for sale that i could just bolt straight on? cheers all Lee
  8. yeah, they should be fine mate, my old wheels were 8.5x17 et35 front and 9.5x17 et35 rear. My new ones are 8.5x18 et30 front and 9.5x18 et30 rear. your slap bang in between my old set and new set at the front so no worries there mate. Can you get them with an et25 offset for the front as they would sit perfectly inline with your front arch. My et35 used to sit inside the arch and my new et30's, although they sit a lot closer to the arch, i would of probably gone for an et25 offset if it was available for the front just to be spot on. think et25 is what funkysi is running at the front on his.
  9. just fitted them after work.. here's how they look to give you further food for thought! http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj430/mrbusy_2009/SNC00030.jpg http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj430/mrbusy_2009/SNC00031.jpg http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj430/mrbusy_2009/SNC00032.jpg 8.5x18 et30 fronts and 9.5x18 et 30 rears.
  10. hi mate, i've just brought these of ebay :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-ALLOYS-SUPRA-SKYLINE-300ZX-200SX-ARAYS-RX8_W0QQitemZ160325246289QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET?hash=item160325246289&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 They do them with a silver centre instead of the gunmetal grey (like mine). I paid £325 (best offer price including postage), ordered them on sunday and they turned up on Tuesday. Just waiting for my front tires to turn up then will get them fitted. I know they are not the same but are very similiar.... and believe me... the dish is huge!
  11. dam... didn't realise i was that much smaller than all the rest of you big boys! :wack: im getting an inferiority complex now! :slap: ah well, im happy with my short and stumpy one! lol!
  12. i was just about to say that! Car looks sweet mate. Did you say you had the same rear bumper for a short wheel base??? if so, i might be interested!
  13. Hi all, i need some help/advice. I had a replacement section made for my exhaust (middle section just behind cats), to remove the middle boxes. Since i had this done on friday i have noticed white smoke from the car. It only does this when the car has been left for a while (overnight). When i start the car, it doesn't blow plumes of smoke out, just a little bit of condensation smoke. but as soon as i pull off theres a nice white cloud of smoke then nothing, it seems to clear itself after pulling off. I noticed today when i finished work that it only smokes from one side (passenger side). Its kinda looks like condensation smoke as it's not very thick, doesnt really smell, and isn't blue or black. As soon as the throttle has been "blipped" a couple of times... hey presto... no more smoke. This has literally only just started since i had the middle boxes removed from my exhaust system. I left the cats in because of the horror stories about the turbo seals going etc so thought this would of been okay. Another thing to note, i have noticed recently that the car seems to "surge" a little and every now and again, will miss slightly. Also have a smell of petrol when i first start the car but dissapears as soon as the car is warm. I don't know if it's just me, but the car also seems to be holding back slightly on boost even though it hits and holds steady at 9psi. Just to mention the car is standard apart from an apexi air filter, stainless exhaust (cat-back) and an apexi afc thingy which i have no idea how to work so i've never touched it. Got my car booked in on tuesday next week for a rolling road set up and dyno so i'll ask them if they have any ideas as to the symptoms, but would just like to know if any of you guys have had these problems and what solved it?
  14. thats fricking awesome.... i've got to get me one of them and have a go!
  15. just had mine done about 2 weeks ago. the garage quoted me 5 hours (as stated in their manual thingy). I would advise (just as a precaution) to change the rear main gearbox oil seal (where the prop connects to) as mine was leaking after i had the clutch changed so had to take it back, and believe me.... when gearbox oil leaks and drips on to your exhaust.... it fooking stinks! worth changing as it only costs about £7.
  16. hey danny, don't think it was an exedy kit, as i couldn't see any markings on it. at present, i am running standard boost with an Apexi air filter, Apexi AFC and a catback exhaust.
  17. no worries mate. the jury is still out on the clutch as i've only had it in for a week and not really been able to give it a good hard run due to a leaky oil seal on my gearbox (getting sorted on monday), but so far so good! i would certainly not put anyone off buying this clutch kit, especially at the price i paid (£219 delivered!).
  18. i got one of these and had it fitted about a week ago. Seems good so far, no slippage, nasty judering and doesn't feel to heavy. seems to be a good buy so far.
  19. hi Chris, email replied to! cheers Lee
  20. im just thinking about something smooth and subtle! was gonna just de-spoiler it and make my own plastic back panel as i have access to lexan (like perspex but a lot stronger and doesn't fade and can be painted on!), and a waterjet cutter! i was looking around and saw a....... hmmmmm... dare i say it...... COUGH vauxhall COUGH vectra COUGH.... spoiler that looks like it might have the right sort of lines, similar sort of size and not ridiculously big (had enough of not being able to see out of my rear window in my impreza:rant:). I know it would be sacrilege if i put a vauxhall spoiler on :nono: but i think it could actually work with a little modification and looks similar to the 99 spec 300zx spoiler. Any thoughts????
  21. hi chris, my email addy is mrbusy@ntlworld.com. ping me an email when you've got more of an idea of what you want. cheers Lee
  22. hi mate, i can't pm as im only a registered user but if you give me your email address and a little bit of info, i.e. sizes design etc and i'll see what i can do for you buddy. cheers Lee
  23. i was thinking of getting it smoothed but just looking at my other options and wondered what else i could fit on it.... be it from a different make of car or one specifically designed for the z.
