haha nah they where really binding on i hadnt had the car long took it for an mot and he said it was seized so i got some new pads i put loads of duck oil on the piston and managed to get it in far enough to put the new pads in and when i checked it it was releasing like it should went back and he spun the wheel and gave me the pass but it must of siezed again coz 500 miles and they was gone so i took the piston out the next time and cleaned it all up and all good now :)

yep ive had this problem a brand new set of pads lasted 500 miles :(

i have replaced 2 of them when i got the car as some asshole didnt connect them back up when the put the engine back in after the new turbos grrrr and with my hands it wasnt easy at all to put the pipes on!!!! :rofl:

yea thats what i was thinking about doing and also maybe getting rid of the cruise control and removed the hicas as mine has been bypassed at some point and the aircon removed :)

hi guys im thinking of doing a rebuild but not a full one so basically i wanna fit some 88mm pistons recon the heads new mains and big ends then clean every thing and rebuild the engine then with the car remove all the shit on there that is not needed ect basically i wanna no if my stock turbos and injectors will be ok with that set up or do they need upgradibg aswell im not looking for massive power just a set chill out smooth ride :dance:

no its dont smoke that bad at all its just say when your sat at the lights and its smoking its embarrasing lol ive been getting prices for parts for me todo a engine rebuild :)

hi smithy thanx for the replay how much is the piston set and does it include the rings ??? i can get the complete head gasket kit and a full set of standard rings deliverd for £94 which i think is a bargain :)

i have emailed a guy about a full set of piston rings and a head gasket set from the states and the prices are good :) might be keeping the old girl after all :)

haha yea if i end up breaking it i will sell um to ya ideally if i can do it cheap enough id replace the piston rings and scrapper rings or the valves on the cylinder i no its not ideal as the whole lot should be done but...... if i can stop it smoking for little money then i might even keep it or sell it im sooooo not sure what way to go with it

yea thats what i was thinking pete i had the same problem when i broke a mk3 capri ended up selling the lot for £200 coz i was fed up with the bits all over the place think i will sell it or crash it i dunno to much going on at the moment mate lol

yea it does add up quite quick but........ i was gonna say the engine is good and it only smokes coz the pcv's where shot so i replaced them but the exhaust still has oil in and can take upto 500 miles to clear it out :wack:

hi guys so as some of you know my engine is not great and only got 90psi on cylinder 6 so how much would it cost for me to eaither fix the valve/s on cylinder 6 and or the piston rings if the bore is ok ?? id do the work my self just need the bits ?? her is a short video of the last engine i tottally rebuilt but its a ford engine so didnt cost me £3 million pound for parts like a zed does lol :)

yea i have thought about this but id like summit a bit easier to wrk on next :D
