help buying a compression tester
as it is a screw in type of compression tester turning over by big rachet should give a reading as you are still creating the compression just whether it will give a true reading

Sergent C old zed is back
I think yours is worth more than 5k Daffy :thumbup1: I think the thing with beemers is it was made as a family car through to a sports car whereas zeds just put out the 2 choices of engine you can get a 1.6 BMW iirc for that reason im not a fan of them either not very exclusive

These funny coloured black zeds keep coming up http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1992-NISSAN-300-ZX-TURBO-AUTO-BLACK-/300521139067?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item45f874ab7b

I think the problem also is some of the owners of the zeds. Not sure about other Jap cars however zeds keep coming up on ebay claiming to have in excess of 600bhp when clearly the work hasnt been done. These people are the ones giving zeds a bad name by trying to sell it as something it is not and then unable to provide any proof like a dyno. It is due to things like that when a zed like this comes along with an ad stating full spec to follow it makes you think why not just wait till you can complete the whole ad rather than losing out on potential buyers cos you dont know what is on the car? Oh another point as well we all regard our zeds highly however just because you have spent 30k on a car it doesnt mean it is worth 30k the price just reflects how much you would want to sell it for. :)

Air filter setup
Would have to look at the sizes however i was using the 350z JWT ones for example as they are larger than the standard fitment on the zed therefore will allow maximum airflow through the filters. Now im sure it is possible to speak to JWT or Apexi and find out what the largest filters they do however as you say anything can be fitted. I personally would like to ditch the Mafs as they will not be wired up so obsolete however the JWT filters with the venturi do look like a good option and have produced great results on the other nissans hence why i was moving away from using Apexi. :) I think that gives Dan more choices to think of anyway now

Air filter setup
yep i agree i had a few plans i trialed the filters on there own with the maf adapters are possible and would then work with the Q45 adapters but simply for the fitting not for the use of the mafs.they are all pretty much the same for the G35, 350z and 370z by the looks of things its just a case of finding which method will allow the filters to sit in the correct position

good on him pushing the price of shorties up :) mine must be on for 6k then :) will see what Jeff reckons for the agreed value next weekend. There are a few zeds on ebay at the moment that do seem a little over priced for the current market but prices are on the way up from what i have seen. Will be interesting to see full spec should be pushing about 600bhp for that price however no engine pics could of given at least one :( dealer seller as well will put on about 3k

Air filter setup
i will be using the bigger throttle bodies too way i see it every little helps.i think with the filters sitting at the front in the bumper gaps it will create enough forced air to overcome the piping
-
Air filter setup
will be using JWT filters ive already got Greddy FMIC installed with doolz and extensions on at the moment going to play about with it so i can move the filters closer to the front. The apexi ones were just the first idea
