  1. Dont take the piss !! Only asking ! I would reckon the g/box one, but on 1 of the Zeds I had, the speed sensor was faulty, intermittent heavy steering etc Also, and only seeking advice here, Would the engine ECU, overule the g/box one ? at certain times.
  2. Does the speed sensor go through the Engine ECU and the G/box ECU ? Or just the one ?? If so, which one ? Alan......
  3. Ah, See my 1st problem then. How and what mod`s would I have to do to the speed sensor ?? Much larger tyres going on. Alan.......
  4. My original plans for this was a small block Chevy with the 700r4 auto. This box allows leccy lock up in top gear, (overdrive if you like) by means of a manual switch. The engine is available in either carb set up, TPI, or TBI, configurations. I am familiar with the systems on these yanks, but the Zed is a wee bit more advanced. Just thinking out loud really ! Alan......
  5. An auto would be more suitable for what I have in mind. Is the Zed auto all leccy controled, or can I by-pass this ?? Alan........
  6. Just a thought, Would I need the ECU for the g/box as well ?? Alan.........
  7. So, If I managed to find a schematic for the loom, showing where it all goes to and where it comes from, I could in theory, utilise the bits I need and by-pass or disconnect the bits I dont ?? Leccy is not my strong point you see, my discipline is in other areas. Alan....
  8. As above really. If, say for instance, I was taking a TT engine and auto box from an Import, and transplanting it into something else, could I be able to get it to run ok ? Would it still need the ECU ? the PTU, the CAS ?? How would the timing, injectors work ?? Can the ECU be used and modified, or is this beyond normal boundaries ?? Just an idea thats floating around in my head at the moment, but a serious one at that ! Can do what I am thinking of with a normal carb set up, but looking at something a bit more, kinda different. Alan........
  9. As above, just at the lights at the Big Tree pub at Whifflet, Sunday afternoon around about 5 ish perhaps ?? Alan........
  10. Sorry to hear of the mans demise, he was very passionate about what he did. Sure he will be somewhere, having a chuckle about the above. But if he had been wearing a high factor sun cream, it would have protected him from harmfull rays !! I`ll get me coat !! Alan......
  11. There is a dangerous virus being passed electronically, orally and by hand. This virus is called Worm-Overload-Recreational-Killer (WORK). If you receive WORK from any of your colleagues, your boss or anyone else via any means DO NOT TOUCH IT. This virus will wipe out your private life completely. If you should come into contact with WORK put your jacket on and take two good friends to the nearest pub. Purchase the antidote known as Work-Isolator-Neutralizer-Extractor (WINE). The quickest acting WINE type is called : Swift-Hitting-Infiltrator-Remover-All-Zones (SHIRAZ) but this is only available for those who can afford it, the next best equivalent is Cheapest-Available-System-Killer (CASK). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system. Forward this warning to 5 friends. If you do not have 5 friends You have already been infected and WORK is controlling your life. Note: After extensive testing it has been concluded that Best-Equivalent-Extractor-Remedy (BEER) may be substituted for WINE but may require a more generous application. Alan.............

  18. Sorry in advance to all teachers !! NEW YORK - A public school teacher was arrested today at John F. Kennedy International Airport as he attempted to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, a slide rule and a calculator. At a morning press conference, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-gebra movement. He did not identify the man, who has been charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction. "Al-gebra is a problem for us," Gonzales said. "They desire solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as ' unknowns', but we have determined they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country. As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, 'There are three sides to every triangle'." When asked to comment on the arrest, President Bush said, "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes." White House aides told reporters they could not recall a more intelligent or profound statement by the president. Alan......... :)

  23. As some of the old timers may remember, I sold my Zed after it was written off at the start of the year. (not my fault) ;) I bought a C4 Vette at a really low price, which needed a wee bit of work done. Not everybodys favourite Yank, but still a nice car IMHO. Well she passed her mot this afternoon needing only headlight aim rectified, which the nice examiner done ! Advisory on the 2 rear tyres, which I knew about. Cracked with sitting so long. So not too bad !! :hyper: Hope this link works for pics etc. http://www.amvo.org/amvoforum/viewtopic.php?t=3412 Any ways, Not a good start to the day as I picked up a flash from a speed camera ! :( I cover the breakdown van every 3rd weekend and got a call at 6.00 am this morning, went to the breakdown on an unfamiliar stretch of road and got snapped !! :slap: About 40 in a 30 I think. Wasnt driving the Vette or even my Vectra, no, was driving this !! . . . . . . . . . [/img] Oh well, 44 yrs old and I have lost my clean licence !! :headvswal Still, could have been worse I suppose. Alan.........
