the grating is more thank likely a turbo, if acompanied with blue/oily smoke, the overheat light may be on if the car has been decatted then perhaps sensor has been cut/removed. To get an idea of the condition of the engine do some tests! does it smoke on overrun? letoff? steady idle? under acceleration? compression test will show up a worn engine /rings/valves/head etc. failing that get someone with some good knowledge of these cars to have a look over! im sure someone could clarify/diagnose locally? cheers greg

it will be more likely the clutch booster/servo itself. you can do as andy says and check the hose connecting above the master cylinder isent split, or block feed and have no assitance and a real heavy clutch thats fun in heavy traffic :cry: your left leg will look like its been on steroids after a few days :rofl:

i smoke, admitadly not proud of it BUT its my choice, i have 2 children, i go in the garden what ever the weather and smoke. not around them!!! to ban smoking in certain places wouldn't bother me, ie restaurants etc i dont smoke in these places anyhow i go OUTSIDE i think it should be down to the pub/club to wether they permit smoking or not, its then the decision of the smoker/non smoker to wether they enter :) all IMO
