3" decat pipes
there are benefits using 3" when running silly power, 2.5" is ideal on my 200sx s14 i run 3" turbo elbow, 3" front pipe, 3-2.5" tapered decat in to 2.5" mongoose, this is apparently the best way to get rid of exhaust gases using a stepdown method, if for EG you had 2.5" decats going in to 3" cat back then this is not so good, and more likely loosing hp im 99% sure leon@ allunox will make you a set of decats in SS with 3" pipework, and as quality goes you can go wrong.Speak to wozzer/john dixon or friday as they know him well :) greg

big end knocking
hi gazza, if its a bottom end rattle, then you would notice a noise around 2500-3k rpm problem is, as crap as it sounds i wouldnt drive the car, otherwise increased strain is placed on the crank, and higher risk of damage to the crank, its normally a rod bearing that wears thin, parts recomended to be replaced when engine out cambelt&tensioners waterpump(not vital) thermostat(not vital) cam&crank oil seals oil pump intake gasket new water hoses and or plenum bypass turbo/gaskets crank measured and checked for damage new main and big end bearings you can try and get the rod bearings checked in situ, allow a days labour, downside is its generally a quick fix, and will most likely come back in the near future  good luck bud, greg

series 2 CAS
its meant to rev high when cold, once the IAC senses a change in temprature it will open bit like a thermostat, this in turn will lower the idle, so its perfectly normal to see 2k rpm when cold what does it idle at when at normal operating temprature?

Emergency!!!!
ed- where you see the ajustment arm behind that is a 12mm nut which clamps the bracket to stop the bolt moving in/out you can do it on the floor, but i would use the oem scossor jack on the side to be able to get your arm in and around, you may well have to loosen the 17mm bolt that passes through the alternator at the top of it! dont un-do the 17mm to far otherwise the nut will fall off the back and you wont enjoy putting it back on  refit is same as reverse, making sure you have a good tension on the belt, you should be able to just about move belt from side to side :) greg

speed sensor disconnected
speed sensor does what it says on the tin senses speed :wack: as far as im aware it wont put it in to any safety mode, but with it disconected it will effect the power steering and speedo, it may also effect the gear changes on the autobox.
