Smokin Probs
turbos bud soon as it rests to a certin rpm. Is when less backpressure is asked for, hence why smoke is comng out when at idle, regardless of where RPM is set, your hiding the issue with pressure.

Boost Jet's x4 advise!!!!
i wouldnt recomend it bud it wouldnt boost to 21 psi, as in theory your going down in size, then air is passing through a larger hole, meaning wastegate should stay open to required boost with 0.8s but if theres to much restriction with all the jets you could potentially cause engine damage or turbo at best. IMO greg

turbo timer sticky key
iv got sticky keys on my keyboard, not sue why

S.h.i.t.
pcv valves wont solve anything, if it has started smoking since exhaust is fitted, then it will indicate the seals have less back pressue, i know so many people who have killed there already worn turbos by removing the catalyst.

Ideal compression figures?
anything between 140-160 psi per cyl is fine, so if figures are between there then engine shows its in resonable health bud less than 130 and engine is showing signs of wear 100 or less then its time for a rebuild

N/a - Tt ???
plenum is same, except TT has an extra couple of intake feeds coming off, but can be swapped over if nec

honey i'm home...
welcome back bud

plenum bypass
its easy to do in situ. just a bit fiddly, if you remove the hoses either side of engine, and take the battery out the job can be done within an hour!

compression tester
thats the spirit bud :D

Funny leak @ Santa Pod
more than likely the air con evaporator hose. or below that you have the biggest culprit of water leaks on a 300zx, it runs directly to the NS turbo along side the bellhousing and is about 4-5" long, swain to do aswell LOL

June Meet - Plymouth
zogg greg(alhough kath will be ready to go in to labour so we will see lol)

compression tester
if the turbo is at fault gaz, unfortunatly the fitter has to take the hit on the labour! they dont compensate labour just replace the faulty unit :mac1: it makes me mad, that they can supply a turbo unit thats faulty and dont compensate
-
compression tester
nope!!! when i was at ztech we had 6-8 faulty turbos on the trot. Excuse was bad batch of bearings. Yeh thats great so when we have to pull the engine amongst other things its ok! And i dont think customers see the funny side! did not realise it was midland turbo gaz, thought you were getting them done at dynamics bud?

VVT solenoid leak
cool just make sure you replace with a new gasket on the intake and make sure its straight when you bolt it down! nothing worse than a blowing intake to have to take it apart again  :smash:

Home without a single mark on it!
dont bother with ebay pullys bud go unorthodox or sgp as they have the timing marks, and on top of that balanced,
-
VVT solenoid leak
problem is heat around the v6(age) etc, failry simple fix, get new gaskets for the inner ones whilst your there may aswell check and maybe do a coolant bypass, intake gasket will be required, and worth doing the breather systym whilst your there. greg
-
VVT solenoid leak
its plenum off job, then replace sealant on outer RC and check rubber seals on inner ones also needs a small bead going over the vvt before bolting down

Timing well out
the right cover is held on by allen key bolts and 8mms, other than fiddly its real easy. then with car up sit a 27mm socket on underdrive, and turn until corosponding marks line up. if marks are out with marks on sprockets then the belt has slipped, and will need the front taken aparto check belt and tensioners if its fine swap the CAS for another one, and try that ;)
