f**k f**k f**k
i had my z for 2years only fault was a viscous fan £30 apart from general servicing,i just spent 10k on modding it instead :wack: so it goes to show there are good ones out there, and if they were well maintained by the previous owner-then theres no reason for them to last well, not to many good ones about though-there getting on 15+years old so things will fail  way i look at it spend 2k and expect to pay the same again for repairs spend 5k on a well cared for example and you will find yourself alot happier and better off in the long run. greg keep the car,you would be a fool to break it,there not worth enough in parts anymore, and what you have put in to it would be criminal to sell for pennies, get a runaround, lock here up,save up and rebuild

minium compression
i did not use a calculator :wack: i was just saying approx 150 is a good healthy figure so for example 1bar=14.5psi 10x14.5=145  7.5 isent lol
-
minium compression
if the procedure and everything checks out the same, then it will explain poor running/performance :(
-
minium compression
if the 7.5 is for cylinder 6 then thats a tad low 7.5bar=approx 110psi v low 8.0bar=approx 115psi v low 9.0bar=approx 130psi low 10bar would based on an engine in new/very good condition roughly 150-155psi id double check the readings and make sure either the gauge/procedure was correct

Engine Out
got to remember you dont need to replace half of what i have mentioned, its either precautonary or not needed if parts are ok dont remove gearbox with engine, the amount of links and advice to remove the gearbox, makes me laugh gearbox stays where it is,so dont follow gearbox section/engine removal on TT.net
-
Engine Out
cambelt or 60k service if its due rear main seal if manual no better time to do clutch aswell pcvs and hoses egr removal inc welding up manifold and egr feeds optional not nec,but if you remove plenum in future,it saves a load of hassle :) water bypass to turbos det sensor, but plenum removal is IDEALY required check heater matrix hoses/replace clean injector plug harness and injectors connections check oil return pipes from turbos replace if nes check turbo to downpipe gaskets replace if nes check engine mounts if removing plenum, replace intake gasket 02 sensors although you can do it fine with engine in,its so much easier whilst its out all of the top of my head, maybe more,i took an engine out today  still cant think lol as for pcvs and det sensor ask ryan ztech as he offers best price on pcvs and most new parts, failing that mjp

Why do I have oil on my balance pipe?
sounds like breather related, check hoses and valves then go from there

Cold Missfire & Viscous fan Prob
for the missfire when cold, clean all the injector connections, that should sort it as for viscous when it starts the whine,a 2nd hand or new alternative 2nd hand approx £30-50 new IIRC around £170 ask ricerocket in the traders section he normally has most things

Manual gear lever bushings
check the gearbox bracket, commonly the rubber support bridge breaks causing the lever to drop and feel sloppy its the bracket under both gators and holds the lever up via a 12mm nut
