  1. i have a really nice set of axis 19" rims, but the polished bit is scabby where i brillo paded it with some ajax before a cruise one night as i was late, this was about 3 years ago they now look skanky as anything so would sandblasting them and then priming and painting be the best way to get them looking really nice? there isnt much kerbing so painting is good enough, also could i get away with all this leaving the tires on? FANKS:thumbup:
  2. yep 2 cuts per door card, one where the belt goes through the door and one at the bottom where the belt bolts to the door, use your old one as a template
  3. funny you should ask because i took the cover of the pillar and looked at where you would have to weld the plate to relocate the seatbelts and decided in the event of a serious accident that wouldnt be substantial, thats just my oppinion and my brothers who is a fireman on the road team, so. i cut out the relevant parts of the door cards last night and fitted them today and its surprisingly simple and straightforward,
  4. one reason is me and groover both have nice uk interior to go in
  5. so can we use the original seatbelts still graham or we have to get uk ones? and these are all we need to fit them uk ones, the eye on the floor is under the sticker and the back uk belts bolt straight in with no problems
  6. nice one matey, why not just put a bolt and plate through? put the nut on the other end? im going outside now to take a goosey
  7. cheers barry. thats actually most helpful, so is there a threaded hole under the carpet in imports and also same behind the pillar trim, or would these threads only be there on uk ones? i wonder if i could fit my jap seatbelts there then
  8. lol its only cos im jealous of ur seat belts
  9. i hate jap belts on the doors and want to fit uk ones especially as i have just got a very spiffing uk interior which has the holes for the seatbelts in the rear quarter trim, if humphrey sends me a set of uk belts will they bolt straight in? and it wont go anywhere the front doors? anyone done this? and do uk doors still have that stupid bit that pokes up on the doors which is always in the bloomin way when the windows are down.
  10. got to the bottom of it but not sure how to fix it, the central locking is working fine but the only reason the passenger door is not locking is the catch is not moving over enough, its moving but needs to move a very small amount more to lock, you can see the difference in the catch moving on the central locking to moving the lock catch on the door, just needs to move over a tad more, it doesnt feel sticky although i will try wd40 later unless i get better advise, thanks
  11. yeah ok mate thats cool i have a volt meter so thats a good way, i think i can manage that bit lol will be back on tommorow after iv tested a few more bits
  12. yeah i have central locking, did you fit the alarm and remote central yourself?
  13. oh now i am just so so jealous, i really really relly really want remote central locking i really do, its aftermarket kit i take it, thanks for the diagram mate i will use that tommoro
  14. yes mate battery is excellent, have you got any spare door locks with keys also?
  15. while i have the door cards off, (planning on putting back together tomorrow) i wonder why my passenger door is not locking on the central locking? and why my windows are slow going up and down, im crap wit electrical stuff i have absolutley no idea, if anyone can help with a few pointers that would be great, many thanks:rockon:
  16. no mate, you know what people do with cars when they do banger racing, they draw all over them and bolt old bit of metal on the roof and let there toddlers loose with a spray can painting things on it like turbo and gti, well them wheels would be suited on that, but ten years ago. lol
  17. oh im such an idiot! i thought we were putting a different size on the left to the right, i'l go back in me hole
  18. they look like wheels for a clown car, who would want bog standard crap wheels painted a dodgy colour with some tacky kev stickers
