You could try the old; Screw the nut back on to be level with the top of the bolt and give it a smack with a hammer trick. I really struggled getting mine off and in the end had to get the garage to do it for me. Maybe someone else has better advice and would be able to help more. Best of luck with it.

Couldn't say mate, but all smoking engines vent through the exhaust. Unless they're on fire...;) Ask him what colour the smoke is and what it smells of.

I'd be a bit worried about the "prone to smoking" comment, means it more than likely needs some engine work doing.. But at least the seller is being honest and not trying to hide it.
